Actress Maki Horikita fired up for homeless role in new drama
Friday 10th April,

Actress Maki Horikita, 20, is challenging a role not many young actresses would be excited about. In Fuji TV’s new drama, “Atashinchi no Danshi,” Horikita will play Chisato, a girl who disguises herself as a homeless person to escape a 100 million yen debt after her father turned his back on her. With a dirty face and disheveled clothing, Horikita shows a side of herself audiences have yet to see.

“I’m really happy to play a variety of different roles. When on location, some staff members didn’t recognize me and wouldn’t come close because I looked smelly,” she said.

The drama centers around Chisato, who becomes a mother for the six sons (Jun Kaname, Osamu Mukai, Yoshinori Okada, Yusuke Yamamoto, Kohji Seto and Tomoki Okayama) of a toy company president in return for having her debt paid off. A smiling Horikita commented, “I was so happy to think that I’ve just turned 20 and I’m already playing the role of a mother.”

When asked the obligatory question about a potential future romance between her character and one of the six sons, she flatly denied the possibility, saying “Everyone [the characters] has a lot of problems to deal with, and it’s just not possible with any of them.”

The drama will air Wednesdays at 9 p.m., starting April 14.

this guy was also a guest star in Osen, episode 2. he was the married guy having marital problems. he was also part of Atsu Hime the Taiga Drama, he played the role of Atsu Hime's biological brother.

I really enjoyed the first episode, even without subs, the context (and the great fan translations up on pori-chan.com and unleashthegeek) have helped tremendously - so I can only hope that the second episode continues the momentum, because I think this will be one of the bright spots in a pretty good spring season.

I enjoyed it very much ^^ but beside the funny moments, I think there're some touching scenes that I need to watch again later w sub to be able to get its meaning fully ^__^

And I love all Chisato 's tricks

I just finished watching the first ep and I must say that this seems like it will be a very interesting drama. I like the whole idea of the [spoiler]trick house. It seems like a lot of fun if someone were to really live in a house like that. I think it would be a great place to conjure up some laughter.

I wish I lived in a house like that, hehe. Would be fun to bring your friends to a place like that and perhaps 'trick' them a few times, hehe. Just the thought of that idea makes me

. When Maki had the option of marrying that guy that helped her out, at first I was thinking what?!? Is she really going to marry someone that is old enough to be her dad? But then after a while it didn't seem like a bad idea, after all, he did save her and offer her a new opportunity. I can't wait for the next ep's and to see how she really pulls off being a motherly figure. I knew there was more to that contract when she signed it, and to be a mom to those 6 kids that he took in, seems like a tough job. I was somewhat disappointed that she has to be a motherly figure to them as I was hoping that she will find a love interest with one of the 'sons', hehe. Oh well.

. This is a comedy so maybe they didn't put another love interest for Maki. [/spoiler]

I have no words other than... AWESOME!!! The time went by SO FAST when I watched the first episode, I feel like it's not enough! I want more!!! The sauna scene cracked me up the most... and yes, what's his name... Masaru? The 4th son cracked me up the most, LOL! Soooo unexpected! And gosh, can Osamu BE any cuter?? I'm glad his character here is quite different than what I've seen of him so far.
I'm starting to like the 5th son too, Satoru! And can't wait till Chisato get to meet the 1st son, Fuu... seem like he's the only quiet one among the 6 brothers... and if not bcoz of the excellence of the whole drama production, I'll be soooooooo disappointed that Kaname Jun only appeared 1 minute in total

Definitely love the musics too! Give a fairytale feeling to the drama^^ Can't wait for next week's 2nd and 3rd son's hillarious head fight

Btw, what's up with that maid??^^;;;

OMGNESS!!!! eps 2 was AWESOME!!!! I have no words, I laughed out loud through out the eps

but it's not only funny, full of sweet& touching moments too, not clichée at all and you can totally feel their feelings, even without sub, you know exactly what's going on, omg, AtaDan script writer is a genius!! <3<3

I'm soo soo in love with this drama now

Can't wait for next week!!!
If anyone still has doubt , reconsider! you'll regret if you miss this pure greatness!!

I almost cried at the kidnapping scene, when Sho & Takeru tried to protect Chisato, in their own ways.... ah~

And Chisato's trick to them the glue!! omg, hilarious! *thumb up*

I've only watched the first subbed episode but I can tell it is going to be so cute!

Maki-chan never disappoints and she has a strong cast to work with.

yeah, for a sec there I thought she said 'sannan'

But no, she said "SONNA anata ga suki desu!". But since the previous scene was a date(?) scene between Chisato and Sho, I really hope she meant "Sho ga suki"

I have to agree! The 2nd episode was fun!! I'm starting to like the boys more and more!! But the first son didn't appear much, nee...

But again, I'm VERRRRY happy Osamu is almost in every scene here!!^o^ His role is really 2nd next to Maki!

1st episode 14.4%
2nd episode 11%

Hopefully it goes up and not down for the 3rd episode as I think this is a very good drama and should not go below 10%.

Not surprise by the low TV ratings. The first episode didn't impress me, didn't like how they handled the whole getting married then suddenly a small time jump, found it to be poorly set up just for them to get that out of the way rather quickly. Gonna try to give this series another go with the 2nd episode though right now I'm not expecting much.

i just finished the second episode and i'm loving this drama already! is funny and crazy, the way i like it^_^ and Horikita Maki is doing surprisingly great in this comedy role, she's doing better than in Hana kimi imo
Mukai Osamu is so funny here too, and so different from his role in Mei-chan no Shitsuji lol.

Waited until TimelessSub released the hardsubs. So far, I'm quite liking this drama. Maki-chan's role in here is cute and spunky. Can't wait how she tames her 6 ikemen sons. Must really add that the 6 sons are perfect as well as the side characters. The secretary is hilarious whenever he snorts and laughs at maki for tricking her. The maid (I've seen her somewhere b4) is hilarious. Ahh she dunked and the 2nd son said no no didn't you understand me!! If for comparison, I think it's more like Sound of Music since the girl gets stuck with brats to take care of.

I think the maid is Takashima Reiko. She had a major part in Saito San (plus probably many other shows I haven't seen). This is such a different role than in Saito San, where she played an ultra-conservative, proper woman.
