[Discussion] Smile - Jun Matsumoto & Yui Aragaki
Someone Hardsubbed SMILE!
I mentioned in the SMILE thread that someone claimed that he will be releasing SMILE hardsubbed.
Apparently it's true. He just released episode 1 - 4 but sadly it's not in torrent format.
I'm not sure if I can post the link, if I can't, mod please remove the link.
And those who want it can PM me.
Mod Edit by XrayMInd:I compared the hardsub from the link with Stormy's subs. The subtitles are the same. I think they took the twitter ripped softsub and put their own credit on the filename

I just finished watching episode 9 and was so overwhelmed that I needed to say something here. SMILE is definitely a powerful drama which shows us the ugly side of Japan which many J-Entertainment fans fail to see.
Japan is the country with extreme racism and discrimination against foreigners. To the point that there are many restaurants and onsens that bans non "pure japanese" from entering or patronizing. A fact that I have been telling many people to their disbeliefs.
Abit of googling can bring you more info regarding the racial discrimination issue in Japan.
Another issue the drama brought up is (I have to put it in the spoiler)
Now for the light hearted opinion.
Initially I thought having Aragaki Yui, who has a cute voice, not to speak will be extremely disappointing. But it's actually a plus point. Since she is unable to speak, everything had to be done by her facial expression which leads to her character being EXTREMELY cute.
Jun's performance is definitely Oscar standard. After watching countless JDramas by Jun, this is by far his best performance ever.
I don't think i'll ever forget SMILE.

@ Xanthos
been there, done that!
junxaragaki is something to be WOOTed for! wootwoot!
and gakky is really REALly cute in SMILE
ive felt that way too, and yeah, tht kind of trial is def. not as fair as it seems
people are quite easy to be influenced and misjudge others and the fact tht they lacked the key knowldge in truly deciding/looking into a case could worsen the misinterpretation
anyway, SMILE

Yup, totally agree with you.cute_angel wrote:I finished watching this series! It was GREAT!
I highly recommend this series!
Jun Matsumoto, Aragaki Yui, Nakai Kiichi and the cast/production staff really deserved the awards!
I can't forget this drama especially the moments of Vito & Hana-chan!!
Did anyone download the OST? Is it just me or is the guitar only version of Ariamaru Tomi we can hear several times during the drama missing? Does anyone else manage to have it by chance?
