I didn't notice her reactions at all Was a bit sleepy, or probably too busy reading subtitles, got to go back and watch again tomorrow. Thanks for that.arakira wrote:Can't wait for tomorrows episode. As issy said, guess our main couple is up for some serious trouble . . .
[Discussion] Nagareboshi (Takenouchi Yutaka, Ueto Aya)
Risa has definitely fallen for Kengo. no doubt about it. you just can see and feel it in every thing she says or everything she does. even though when she says stuff that indicate other way round, you still see her annoyance when she says them. like getting divorce from Kengo once everything is over, or she and him have no special relations. Aya is doing great job here to convey these feelings.
my problem with Maria
my problem with Maria
An interesting drama with human touch and smoothly depicted human relations. Surely, it's not that complicated, it's so smoothly demonstrated as the jellyfish swim, and as AYA skillfully plays a difficult role. To tell the truth, AYA is not only gorgeous, but she is also proving to be a skillful actress, certainly not to mention the other staff. I really appreciate their work.
I'm working on Eng. subbing of this drama, but while doing that, I'm driven by them, to their milieu and the emotions they experience.

Hi everyone! I come fresh from watching the first 3 episodes in one go and I am so LOVING this drama.
It is one of those rare dramas I keep rewinding to rewatch certain scenes instead of winding forward because I am bored or annoyed. Such a gem!
I suck at joining discussions but love reading all yours
I have a huge Takanouchi bias but nevertheless I would like to state that he is doing a great job here -as well as Ueta who comes as a pleasant surprise for me as I have not been too fond of her until now. And finally some good chemistry for Yutaka and his co-actress! He has not been very lucky regarding this aspect in his previous works.
One thing I was wondering too is the reason why Kengo and Risa had to get married. My guess: The law is strict and only allows family members to donate. So an examanation for compatibiliy ahead of the marriage would have been suspicous - or rather impossible. So Kengo had to take the risk of marriage even if Risa wasn't a compatible donor. Just my guess!

Yes, that's it. The doctor handed them a chart/diagram of family relations in the first episode for the criteria. It was a very quick shot.anamcara wrote:

Even though i saw it coming from ep1 and knew that it will happen for sure, but i am still very shocked and very sad.emmy21 wrote:Just watched ep 6 on Keyhole. The quality is really terrible so I couldn't hear a lot of the dialogue properly. However major major major spoiler ahead....
Havent caught up with Jdrama in awhile... and started watching this drama because of the two leading actors/actresses...
Story is subtlety calm and even tho there are problems here and there, its good to see them depend on each other..
one of the best Jdrama this season.
Still waiting for episode 6 to be up on you know where and get translated :0

I just can't bring myself to watch this ep. wondering if i should skip and wait till ep7xploring wrote:Didn't enjoy episode 6 much. You can skip forward a few minutes if you don't like what you are watching, or watch the Kengo-Risa scenes only, there are a couple of those at least... The scenes without Maria, Ryota or Risa's brother are easy to watch.Issy wrote:I just can't bring myself to watch this ep. wondering if i should skip and wait till ep7xploring wrote:Didn't enjoy episode 6 much. ya that hell of a brother.
i think the director & writer are really good at building the relationship of risa and kengo. sure we want more, but i think given the circumstances under which they two came together in the first place, how the relationship is developing is much more believable.
but ya, we're all dying for some really lovely scenes between our two leads.
omg...and can i say this, Takenouchi and Ueto really look very cute together. awesome!!
didn't really see the preview. what was there?

Thanks. I think you're right. The bike scene is like a metaphor for their relationship at that point. I really liked it when Kengo saidkaheiyeh wrote:yuizaki_libra wrote:missed it gonna watch it tmr \m/
How's the preview for ep 9, anyone?
Yup, some of us here watched on keyhole at the time of the broadcast. For me, if I miss it, I would watch it on a chinese website the next day. Anyway, the link for ep8 is up now. Enjoy! =)Issy wrote:ep8 is not uploaded yet. or have i missed it some where?

You can watch any new episode on http://www.qire123.com/japan/liuxingriju/. The quality is not bad for streaming, and a new episode is usually up within a day after it is broadcast =)melvinj13 wrote:any links where i can download or watch nagareboshi ep8 aside from rutube?? thanks thanks :=))
Aww.. I really loved episode 8. So many sweet moments and the ending was just perfect! Issy, I feel the same!! If only this was the last episode!
Not really looking forward to next week cos there's lots of trouble ahead based on the preview...
Only two more episodes to go! Am going to miss this drama when it ends. Hope the ending will be a really sweet one!

i watched ep8 many times too...
my goodness, yutaka's acting is just so wonderful...even his back can act. lol...
don't you guys love the part where he
and i simply loved the bicycle scene....that was so well scripted and acted. i haven't really watched many of Ueto Aya's dramas, but she's really good as well...
I love ep 8 like most people on here, and absolutely adore Yutaka x Aya At times that's the only thing that keeps me watching - their amazing, amazing chemistry and individual acting. Before watching this, I heard various opinions regarding Aya's acting, but she totally convinced me this time .
Up to this point, I hate the brother like hell and think he's the one weakness of the script, that he seems to be the character made up just to ruin everything, and he himself doesn't have a purpose except to be the bad guy. Watching him was excruciating at times. You know how one-dimensional character is very boring. Most dramas have a bad guy, but in my opinions the good dramas have the more interesting "bad guy" instead of the usual boring one.
But, ep 8 changed my opinion regarding her brother. The bicycle scene illustrates this very clearly. Her brother, in a way, loves her in the most selfish manner and only wants to keep her for himself, even if that means she'll be living a miserable life. Like how Risa said her brother tried to teach her to ride a bike, but never let go - a metaphor for his selfish "love" (if we can call it that). Kengo, on the other hand, taught her how to ride a bike and let her go. Similar to the scene where Risa departs, Kengo didn't ask her to stay, his mother did. And in a way, it was perfect that he lost sight of her first, then found her again, because it shows that this time she is the one who wants to stay.
I just thought that the bicycle scene is amazing on several levels, just like that Can't wait for ep 9, but I think it'll be a sad one

@kaheiyeh wow the meteor shower really happened on that day? how lovely the scriptwriter/production team really did a good job on this
if only they could do a better job on the Risa's brother character. LOL
I'm waiting to see him die in the last episode.
Scriptwriter, please don't let me down. LOL
They should have made the brother crippled since childhood because of Risa's mistake or something. that way, it'd be more believable that Risa always sacrifice herself to help him. Maybe things will be explained in the last episode. Maybe Risa is the reason their parents died? (Has the parents cause of death been mentioned in the show? I don't remember.)

It's only 10 episodes ... unless they make a special, which I think isn't likely.dria_ni wrote:did you guys see the ending part of this monday episode? omo .. they'r hugging each other in d end, before that kengo said something "kaeru .." i dont understand japanese .. but i think the thingskengo said is so sweet

I think ending was HORRIBLE, said first user ever :> Of course there wasn't anything better, rather other "drama's" were much worse, than Nagareboshi this season, which makes Nagareboshi quite OK. Now right to the points: where is the "touchy-feely love" of some sort? ~ Don't mean US-soap-like over the top fakiness but just a hug at it's best?! Many times I felt that...I can hardly tell how characters feel, in general (hence not being Japanese myself). Almost bored. Fuji were much more expressive before so looks like it's on purpose as Takenouchi, Ueto requested.
A storyline needed more variety by decreasing certain plot parts. Kitano was adorable but "time at the hospital" took a solid first half. Surrounding "friends" could've been bolder instead, such as Minako, Ryota and so on.
Last, but not least: too predictable. About two hard to guess moments throughout ten episodes is very plain. It's not a suspense thriller or a comedy but not being surprised doesn't increase my interest ether.
Overall Shooting Star gets my "watchable" ratings. Wasn't anything new or exciting.

Of course there were flaws and unaswered questions that could have and probably should have been addressed and/or tied up, but at least we got our happy ending. While I love dramas that make me think and aren't so straight forward, this was a simple love story at heart and you really saw the growth from a relationship where one person benefits from the other to one of true love, understanding, compassion and caring. I loved this drama and would highly recommend it, minor flaws and all.
I ABOSULETLY LOVED THIS DRAMA!! RISA AND KENGO MAKE SUCH A ADORABLE SWEET ROMANTIC COUPLE!!! i totally understand those who say there were some loose ends, however i guess its a japanese drama they tend to do that...and 10 eps are not alot. i wish there were more!! i never would have expected ueto and Yutaka would make such an amazing couple! i loved the story and how it developed it seemed so real and i disagree with the person who said they couldnt see the emotion,i believe they had so much emotion without over reacting... i loved loved the SWEET ending!!! i just wish they had more romantic times between them two!! ..its a simple, and beautiful story!
