Any new Dramas for Shinohara Ryoko this season?
Seems like since she married that 50 year old dude she's dropped off of her drama making considerably. Too bad 'cause I think she's one of the best actresses in the biz.
Anyone have the inside scoop?

She hasn't dropped off since she married that 50 year old guy. Besides, she recently finished the drama "Haken no Hinkaku", which is probably why you won't see her in other dramas this season.
P.S. Check out her DramaWiki here

he may not look it, but from what i understand, that "50 year old guy" is apparently a really respected and reknown actor in japan. she started out as just a singer - it was after she married him and probably got a lot of (excellent) coaching that she really was able to break out into acting and make a name for herself.
her movie Unfair came out recently too, so she's been busy in non-dorama areas as well.
but ya, she's an excellent actress. i was really particularly impressed with her work in Unfair (drama)

I've seen her in Anego (which i checked out because of the pretty boy Jin). She caught my attention then with her excellent acting skills.
Then i happen to stumble upon the movie, Unfair. She was so awesome in that movie!! So different from her "anego" character. She won me over with that movie...then i checked out the drama. halfway through, I wanted to see her latest drama Haken no Hinkaku.
Again, she acted so well!
I can't wait to watch another drama or movie of hers
She's now my fav. actress :

I just started watching "Haken no Hinkaku"
yeah I know that I'm really behind all of your guys.
I initially thought she was quite hot, but it wasn't until watching the 5th episode of "Haken no Hinkaku" that I realized she looked very familiar. I had seen her in the show "At Home Dad". She's quite a good actresses considering that her character in "At Home Dad" really pissed me off. And then her character in "Haken no Hinkaku" made me really attracted to her. To be able to manipulate the audience in such a way is amazing.
Sadly, I still found "Kato Ai" more appealing and attractive.

It was just announced that her husband has been diagnosed with early stage stomach cancer.
At 65 years old, it will be quite an ordeal to go through whatever treatment they will choose to endure so all my prayers and thoughts are with him, Ryoko and their 2 little kids.
