Yamada's Hidden Child
Popular actor Yamada Takayuki (photo, 22) is the father of an illegitimate child, it was revealed this week. The star of the current TBS drama "Byaku Yakou" and the 2003 Fuji TV hit "Waterboys" became a father last October. The 22-year-old mother of the "kakushigo" (hidden child) is said to be raising the baby at her family home. Yamada is providing full financial support for the child.

Her name is Chiho Ooyama (大山千穂）.

It might be better now, but apparently he has a history of being a bit of a loner... I remember reading that during the filming of Sekachuu he hung out wih his co-stars. Instead, he would just go back to his trailer. Ayase was the same. Plus as a tv/movie actor, as opposed to other ppl on the variety circuit or "idols" that really rely on the day-to-day fanbase, any potential backlash probably won't last long enough to significantly affect his livelihood...

Honestly, I don't think this'll be anything more than a ripple in the pond of his career....

As for the woman, I'm sure she's much more attractive outside of those purikura pics (they're making faces and stuff too)... not like it makes any bit of difference one way or another... ^_^;

If so, then he can't have an "illegitimate" child. There's no law against an unattached male being a father ... is there? (I'm not too familiar with Japanese laws)

When I first read this, I thought he went ultimate badass and had a child out of wedlock. Whew, well I'm glad he didn't have an affair, even though this has already completely destroyed my image of him.

and at the end of the Trivia Section, it says there specifically that a son was born in Oct. 2005.
So the kid must be like 6-7 months old.

Wow. Nobody is talking about what an awesome job he's doing in "Taiyou no Uta". Do people really not want to support him because he has a child? He was a kid. Kids sometimes do stupid things but there's no reason to make him or his child suffer for it anymore. What's important is that he's an amazing actor. His personal life is not of concern. ^_^

but yeah...great actor yeah? lol well i think so..and yeah..stuff like this happens all the time...

i third that. His acting in Byakuyakou is the best i've seen from him.
It could also be that having worked with Ayase before, the second time around he's picked up a few tricks here and there to make the acting/chemistry even more addicting to watch.

He was good in WaterBoys and Byakuyakou ,loved this actor.

actually I started watching J-drama's because of him. I started with Sekachu then waterboys and worked my way up through all kinds...I've seen Lunch no Joou, taiyou no uta, fireboys, h2, densha otoko movie, tegami, and byakuyakou. To my surprise Taiyou no Uta's ratings were extremely low...odd cuz I really liked the show...

But looking at the wiki, it says in movies Eragon, now I haven't watched it before but who does he play anyway?? There's a picture of him with the cast

Eragon is a Hollywood movie. It was revoiced in Japanese for the Japanese market.

He voices the lead Eragon (the guy he's standing next to)

i second that he's a great actor. what's the problem with him having a kid? i don't know where everyone else is from but in America, that's not that uncommon anymore. Morals aside, it's how it is, but that's his personal life and should be separate from his acting.

i also second that Taiyou no Uta was great. Graduating with a degree in music from college, I liked it especially for it's musical aspect, but also because I think both Sawajiri-san and Yamada-san are wonderful in the drama. I really am surprised that it didn't get good ratings.

I'm watching Byakuyakou now and it's a toss up for me right now. Maybe I need to finish the series, but I think I like him better in "sekachuu". That one showed more of his happiness/sadness, while Byakuyakou shows more of his hope/dispair...subtle difference in word, but drastic difference on screen.

Looking forward to seeing Tegami, again with Sawajiri-san and Yamada-san.

Last weekend i watched him in Densha otoko... i was mad because my family was making fun od him because he was "over dramatic" and was crying...

i love him in water Boys too...

I really know him since 1 week He is so talented, i have already seen Long Love Letter, H2, Taiyou no Uta, Byakuyakou, Koi ga Shitai, hihi I still have so many to watch and it will be a real pleasure to see him in these dramas
I hope he will act in a drama in 2008, I prefer dramas to films.

I've half watched Crows Zero. Its confirmed there will be part 2 but he will not return to reprise his role.

How do you find him in this Serizawa role?

I think he is hiralious, especially the crashing scenes

I feel that Yamada-kun did a lot of homework for each of his character including this
Serizawa can be hilariouis but serious and best friend you ever have

all his expresions in the movie were hilarious
you can see in the making of the movie that Miike Takashi had many ideas for the funny scenes and everytime he shows the actors how he wants them to do it XDD (like when serizawa eats a cookie after picking it on the floor,or Ken with the two 11 years old girls LOL!!!)

And in this clip,yamada is imiting the director all excited when he told him about the human-bowling scene,haha yamada is so cute xDD

unless Miike want Serizawa to be Hero rather than Genji just kidding

I personally think because the storyline is based on Genji not Serizawa
Their conflicts/tensions seem to be resolved already
Genji would be busy with new opponent(s) in the second

he is soooo cute from Kamogawa Horumo

To me-he was the best character in Crows Zero. I really didn't expect him to act like he did, it was a total change from his usual roles! He is a pretty good actor, but needs to get out of the "makes you feel sorry for him" stereotype. Good start with Crows Zero! Looking foreward to a couple of his newer ones as well.

There is no confirmation made yet whether he will be appeared in Crows Zero II.
Nor confirmation that he will be part of Oguri Shun's 24 hour program show.
But, he shown up together with Oguri Shun and Crows Zero II team (I guess?) in these clips.
Most probably he will be part of Crows Zero II, I guess

I really haven't seen much of Takayuki outside of SekaChu, SonoToki, and Crows Zero but it was fun seeing him cameo in Maiko Haaaan!!!

I still can't get my hands on the Densha Otoko movie! Damn! Only saw bits of it on TV.. I need the whole movie! >.< He was so cute in Water Boys..

Takayuki in Crows zero was great, I knew he could play the role of a badass lol. I hope to see him in Crows zero II but like someone already mentioned he lost to Genji so if he is in it he'll probably fighting behind him ; ;

his role as serizawa is already for sure, i had seen some photos from shooting (it is being shot right now), though serizawa is a lot different from the first movie, meaning his hair is as you can see on the picture in the pink shirt and he is going around in flip-flops but if anyone can pull of a gang-leader in capris, weird shirt and flops, it's takayuki.

and thanks for the all the next pictures from his other movies. He looks so young in the student movie...again

I am glad there is so much to look forward to, though I would love to see him doing some dramas as well, since that would mean a lot more hours of takayuki than movies

Nevertheless, it's great that he is starting to break from the stereotypical image he has had, he is a fantastic actor and it's a shame if they don't use his endless talent more broadly.

I certainly hope NOT! ) As far as I know, he is shooting right now. I saw a few pictures around, one of them was on Izaki's personal page (can't think of the actor's name now) and Izaki was kind of...., so that would suggest he would be there for a moment longer than a second. Also a few months ago they were making a huge casting of big boys for Serizawa's army, so I do hope he is there at least as much as in the first movie (where he wasn't THAT long, if you think about it). though from the pictures I saw (in the flip flops and the.....hair ) he seemed kind of...out of place there, so I do wonder. I want him to play a big role, to see the interesting triangle Serizawa-Genji-Tokyo work. I wish I could read more Japanese, maybe I would know more by now

i don't think a real trailer would be available that soon, since they are only shooting, but i am checking the official page every day anyway serizawa is my probably most favourite takayuki's character. it's so refreshing to see him doing something different (not to mention sexy).
Yabe's photos are funny, he seems to be getting on well with people and takayuki (what is not that usual, since he seems kind of timid), I checked his photos yesterday when I discovered his blog and some were hilarious.

i will go there and check it out if I have time, but personally, I think, for takayuki as an actor it's better to do movies, financially at least, ne? Also by movies it's more probable that if there is one very successfull, it will be sold abroad --> more coverage and chances.

I didn't see the photo imitating, could you please please send a link or the photo?

BTW did you notice that takayuki is very good at comedic moments and imitating. I wonder why nobody uses this feature more. Maybe that the reason why Serizawa is such a good character, because Miike finally used this talent and showed it to us. I have been watching behind the scenes of CZ and I had a feeling that the boys had fun watching Takayuki doing some small small skits (I may be wrong though, because I don't understand anything yet )

I took a little look at the link 4ever-kunimi gave...it often mentions Oguri's radio show (all night nippon) He did one in Osaka with the rest of the cast of crows last wednesday... I've listen to it briefly and all i can hear is their craking up like mad,especially Yabe

As for dramas...i don't think he talk about a future project.He just said he likes to do movies better,because people will take their work more seriously? He said he's happy to see people coming to theaters to see movies on worked on......that the feeling isn't the same for dramas and working on movies is a good change for him?!

I just watched Ikigami trailer and it looks good, though I am more looking forward to MW (CZ is a special category in itself). And I wonder about the movie where he plays a student. There is too little info about Takayuki around for my liking (at least on English pages).

II guess there isn't a chance to see Ikigami with subtitles in Tokyo or is it?
