2007 Japanese Artist Calendar Season

Post by groink » Nov 9th, '06, 08:01

Man I hope there's no topic for calendars... Google isn't exactly that up-to-date as far as D-Addicts topics go...

I just received my three calendars for 2007: Sakai Noriko, Miyazaki Aoi and Fuji Ayako. As with past years, I don't use these calendars. They're kept in poster tubes for prosperity. It's more a matter of "Yeah, I have it!!!!" than to actually make practical use of them. I may even buy a second Fuji Ayako calendar for the office; it is probably the only one that won't create a sexual harassment suit against me (Ayako wears kimono VERY WELL.)

The previous 2006 season, I bought Sakai Noriko, Yada Akiko and Itoh Misaki. Right now I could probably sell Misaki's 2006 calendar unused for three times what I paid. Some of these have really good re-sale value if they're not used.

CD Japan appears to be cheaper by the item than YesAsia, but very expensive in the shipping. They also don't allow you to ship calendars along with CDs (isn't that wacked????) I'm not sure about YesAsia - I didn't try them.

In Hawaii, you can order them through Hakubundo (which is what I did.)

You can get many Japanese calendars from JBOX.com. They also have a variety of other Japanese items.

Isn't NEWS on probation for the remainder of the year? I would imagine that includes issuing a calendar.

The Johnny's group's calendars come out in February next year since they cover the year from April to March (school year). News is supposed to be back next year so they should get a new calendar then.

I just bought one of these calendars and I was wondering if there was a way of using it without damaging any of the pages? The only way I can think of using it is by tearing off the page or folding the page over and puting a hole through where the hanging bit is.

Well, I have the Ayaka 2009 Calendar. Kinda weird because it's got one page for two months and there are only 8 pages in total. It also comes in a strange cardboard sleeve that you're supposed to use like a picture frame.

I think most 2009 calendars are like this as well. Kinda wished I had at least 12 pictures of Ayaka but oh well. Didn't bother me because I already knew that it was coming with 8 pages. Remember, check your pages! :p

I suppose with the new calendars, you don't have to tear anything.

very rarely do you see 12 pages, usually 7 for 12 months or 8 for 14 months

You guys do realize that the post by dixgomez is link spam, right? If anyone wants to talk about 2009 calendars, I'd create a new topic (I'll create a new one right after this), and then have the mods lock this one.
