I don't really want to start a topic on her since I'm not a huge fan and I know I wont have time to update this to make it an 'official thread', but this news is so shocking i just have to share with all of you
Getting the 2nd Nana movie and hearing ex-Hachi got married on the same day is just a bit too much >_<

Miyazaki Aoi (Hachi from Nana 1) and actor Takaoka Sousuke just got married on June 15th (which is yesterday in Japan)

Translation of the Sanspo article:
Actress Miyazaki Aoi (21) and actor Takaoka Sousuke (25) submitted their marriage registration to the Tokyo Regional Office on the June 15th. This is the final fruition of a 7 yr relationship.

On the same day, both actors signed a fax to the mass media announcing that they are ready to tackle their work with a fresh new feeling, as well as building a family.

Miyazaki is not pregnant and plans on continuing her work.

The fax is attached, but it's just more stuff apologizing for the selfishness of their action and about guiding the two of them as they continue to work.

I think it will take me the longest while to get to grips with the Japanese way of apologizing for selfishness in this kind of situation

Wow... congratulations to the both of them! (I like how it was pointed out that she's not pregnant.) I've only seen her in Tada, Kimi wo Aishiteru and Nana, but I loved her in both of them. I also liked his performance in Taiyou no Kisetsu.

I agree Liantasse on the selfishness comment! I have always loved Aoi because she is the same age as me. Congrats to her for getting married. I didn't know they had been together so long (that's how long I've been with my partner too, eep!)

Ok, so maybe "relationship" wasn't the best word to use. The translation is actually closer to "acquaintance" but I thought that seemed unnaturally stiff considering they got married... ^_^;;; Let's just say that they've known each other for 7 yrs. :p

Anyhow, I thought this was kind of interesting, so another (poor) translation.

I have an announcement to make today.

I, Takaoka Sousuke and Miyazaki Aoi, who I have been dating for some time now, submitted our family register on this day, June 15. This morning, we went together to present the marriage registration to the regional office. I've known her for almost 7yrs now. Sometime along the way, love blossomed between the two of us, leading to our dating with the intent of marriage.

While we were dating, there were some very difficult times because we were young. But during those times, we were helped by the people around us, and were able to continue seeing each other. It has taken some time, but thanks to them, we have both come to realize what's really important to us.
No matter what obstacles came my way, she was always there to watch warmly over me. She's like a sunflower to me, and just being near her makes me happy.
I believe this is the kind of person I want as a life partner, and so I decided to get married.

For these long months and years, she has been an emotional support for me, and as such I will treasure her. Being married, from now on I take the responsibility for protecting my family and will do my best at my job.
I'm still inexperienced, and work-wise, she is at a higher level than myself. This is truly an unequal marriage.
But even so, we are determined to be understanding. I believe that there are many people wondering if we will be okay, but we have high hopes that we can run this 3 legged race (i.e. work together towards the same goal).

I also want to add that she is not currently pregnant. We'd like to have a baby whenever we are spontaneously gifted with one though.

We will forever be grateful to the people around us and want to build a happy family in which the smiles never disappear. Please watch closely over us. Please forgive this poor writing skill. We're still inexperienced, so please continue to give us guidance.

A Fresh Start

Hello. The weather in Tokyo was nice again.

Thank you for the numerous notes of congratulations we received yesterday and today.

Today, I spent the day much like I always do.

I apologize for surprising everybody for the sudden announcement. It must have been like an electric shock for people who didn't know.

She is also grateful to her fans who also sent numerous letters of congratulations. Reading all the warm comments made her truly grateful to her fans.
We will definitely be happy together, so please don't worry... That's easy to say, but we will prove it with our actions. Please watch over us. And also, please continue to support her as she continues to work non-stop.

To my fans who have always supported me, I'm sorry for surprising you. I've read all your warm messages. Thank you very much! I will treasure each moment, living my days without taking for granted the fortune and happiness I have.

We will both do our best to continue performing.

Overall, they sound pretty grounded, if a bit optimistic.... ^_^;

First thing I saw Miyazaki in was Nana, which I thought was... meh...

I haven't watched Nana 2 yet, but I skipped through it and I am SO GLAD she decided not to reprise her role as Hachi. Looked terrible!

^ You have no idea how many times I have entertained the thought of subbing Junjou Kirari...

But then I look at how long it takes me to do other projects and I come back to my senses...

Besides, NGN will probably do it (if they haven't already). The trick is to get somebody to capture and upload

It's a good thing to be optimistic, ne? If not at the very start of a marriage, then when?!

It'll be so difficult anyway and it doesn't look as if he's completely unaware of that

He does mention the difficulties they've had so far.

Kuriyama will definitely be invited.
From her Japanese wikipedia entry, it seems that Miyazaki's closest friends are probably Kuriyama Chiaki, Sudou Atsuko, Becky, and Matsumoto Marika (they all met while filming o-daiba.com in 2000). Every year, they get together to celebrate each others birthdays and stuff... It also seems that all of them (with the exception of Kuriyama, who couldn't make it because she was on location filming a drama) got together on 6/11 to celebrate her impending marriage. In other words, they knew before the announcement was made.

i really liked her in NANA1. then i got to see "Tada Kimi wo Aishiteru" first.. she was just toO cute to not like.. haha. and i like her small voice toO, suits her character. im glad she has a new drama. i would definitely be pinning for that one. i just hope someone subs it

I'm really looking forward to Solanin and watching Aoi rock it out on the guitar. From the production stills I've seen (and the promo pic) the film seems to give off a low-key, mellow vibe.

I'm curious why it seems nobody is picking up Solanin for fansubbing. I have read the manga and all I can is the story is something that everybody in their mid 20s could relate to. I'm looking forward to seeing it. Hope some one decides to give it a shot.

Japanese movies usually don't get subbed until after the DVD release. Release date for Solanin is 2010/09/03 - and I guess it will get subbed then... or did you already get a raw?? If so, please share it with me ;)

DVD Solanin will be release in 2010/09/03, so you must wait for raw firstly. Maybe it has subtitle, too.

I have ordered this DVD. Now I'm looking forward to seeing it. DVD Solanin is the first Aoichan's stuff I have. Happy
