He served on his Jr. High and High school soccer teams. He hurt his ankles so he can't play soccer professional like he wanted.

Also, IIRC, his father was a soccer player also.

i think hanakimi was really the big break for him...i remember chatting with my friend about how excited we are for the coming drama, and she mentioned hiro and i went 'uh, i don't know him' -_-

i really had no idea who he was before! but i'm glad he's getting more attention now, w/c is about time people know that such a hottie exists, hehe...i was even surprised that i liked him in the drama before i liked shun and toma's roles

Well, it'd be hard to find his earlier modeling works since it'd probably be for clothing and etc and that it was probably around 2003 - 2005, the beginning of his career.

nishiryo i remember you mentioning Kamen Rider before in episode 25 when he says stronger and strongest hahaha i only had the chance to comment on it now, but oh yeah...i almost fell off my chair Hiro looked so cool when he was speaking about the other Kamen Rider whose name was stronger but that HE [Tendou Souji] was the strongest. [such perfect voice for english he should speak it more often onscreen]

but he doesnt look full Japanese, Jun has really big eyes and thick eyebrows with a big big smile.

me too..i've never thought that hiro and matsujun resemble each other. their hairstyle is similar but other than that i see no resemblance at all.

hiro doesn't look full japanese to me but i also don't find his looks european. i think he looks undoubtedly asian but with a hint of some other ethnicity. lol he looks more asian than shirota yuu who totally inherited his mother's spanish side. if i didn't know better i would have never thought he was half-japanese

well, i could see just a little bit of resemblance, i mean that was my initial thought when i saw hiro in hana-kimi for the first time...but as i look at hiro more closely, he looks waaaaaaay better

...sometimes he looks as if he's not japanese at all, like he's a bit spanish or something, plus the way he talks is very sexy as if he's speaking french/spanish and not japanese

The only thing I see in common with them is their cheekbones. xD That and they're both attractive, though Hiro is definitely more so.
The fact that Hiro as Miname has similar hair as MatsuJun's doesn't help any either. Doesn't really matter though, Hiro is better looking by far. ^_~
