Gokusen 3 is the very first JDrama I've watched. I've only watched the first episode and I am really enjoying it. I know I'm rather new to this, but great TV is great TV... The Japanese game shows attracted me to this site, but I think I'll be staying for Gokusen 3 and the community. It helps that the show has a little bit of comedy in it. Are there any shows that anybody can recommend that has a bit of comedy splashed into the show?
The first j-drama I watched was the last one-third of Kokoro. I happened to see it on TV one day before work and the lead actress, Nakagoshi Noriko, really caught my attention - I though she was incredibly charming. The episodes were only 15 minutes each so it was easy to watch each morning while having breakfast before I went to the office.
Then I happened to catch the second half of the k-drama Super Rookie. I recognized Eric from Shinwha and again the lead actress caught my attention (Han Ga In). After watching a few other k-dramas I stopped watching dramas for a while.
I was pretty much just watching what was on channel 18/19 here in Los Angeles and happened to catch Sailor Fuku to Kikanju. While the series was not that great, I really liked Shinichi Tsutsumi so I Googled him. I was lucky enough to discover the treasure chest of drama information that is D-Addicts. That started the ball rolling again and I've been a j-drama addict ever since.
I haven't gone back to k-dramas in a while, they tend to be a little too dramatic for my liking.

My first drama I ever watched was the Japanese drama "1 Litre of tears." Then my first Korean drama was "Beautiful Days" and my first Taiwanese drama I ever watched was "It Started with a Kiss." Even though I have seen many more dramas after that, those three hold a special place in my heart. Especially 1 Litre of Tears!
oh and to for get to mention that my most touchey~feeley drama Iv'e seen is H2.missyu76 wrote:My first drama I ever watched was the Japanese drama "1 Litre of tears." I'm afraid to shatter my pride watching anything stronger than that.
I've actually already replied in this thread, but then I remembered this Asian tv-series I used to watch years ago. So I started fiercely to google it, and I finally found out what it was. It was a HKdrama Wind and Cloud. I totally had the hots for Cloud, Peter Ho. It was a totally crappy program, but strangely addictive.

First dorama watched
The first one I ever watched was Hanjuku Tamago, which is one that no one ever seems to carry and most people don't seem to know it even exists. It had a young Tomosaka Rie on it, and a young Uchida Yuki. I really liked the series and wish it had been put out on DVD.
It was Coffee Prince. It was the first time that I really intently watched Kdrama, and becoz of it I started watching Drama (but Jdrama instead, hahaha)
For Coffee Prince was also the first drama that I watched it non-stop, from 8 pm until 2 pm of the next day, w/o skipping any shot (some shots were re-watched)
I was quite impress to this Kdrama

First Kdrama haven't watched one to date, for some reason just havent really passed my mind to check any out
First Twdrama was Devil Beside you, I like it but the thing I notice is the main guy who stole that girl is such an ass in every drama he plays in like a royal **** >.<

First Drama
Mine was Lunch Queen, my friend convinced me that I would really likeit and should give it a try. Couldn't have picked a better first myself:)
For me it was:
Kdrama: Hotelier (so much better then the Japanese version though the hotel in the Jdrama is one I'd actually love to stay in...)
Kmovie: I can't remember what it was, so it probably wasn't that interesting...
Jdrama: Gokusen...but I happen to be one of the few who like Gokusen 2 better then the first.
Jmovie: The Returner which I liked before I even started watching any other kind of Asian drama or movie.
Twdrama: Romantic Princess
Twmovie: I haven't watched any...

I can't actually remember which was first, so -
Nobuta wo Produce (jdrama). I watched it a couple of seasons after it came out. I don't even remember why I watched it, but I just did. I really love it to this day. And after watching it, I searched for series that the three leads had been in, and it snowballed from there. I now watch at least three-five dramas a season.
Full House (kdrama). Again, have no idea why I watched it. I watched it either before or right after NwP - can't really remember. I do remember liking it a the time. Of course, now that I think about it. . . It wasn't as great as I thought it was. Good, but not great.
After that, I started watching more kdramas and twdramas and was surprised to find that both countries really enjoy 'formula' dramas.
