Hi, I'm Meredith, and at 40 I think I'm probably much older than most of you.

I've been into Asian dramas for a few years now. I was living in the San Francisco area at the time, where we not only got the International Channel on cable, but also had our own local Asian-language cable channel. My Korean friend Yong-Mi visited me there, and we were drinking beer and channel-surfing and came across 'Three Grown Men' -- and I was instantly hooked.

Later I got another internet friend into Asian dramas, and we'd always watch them together on the International Channel, logged into IM so we could talk about what was going on. But then Fuji TV stopped allowing subtitling, and we couldn't follow the storylines anymore. For years the only way I ever got to watch any dorama was by buying pirated VCDs from eBay, but that got too expensive so I stopped.

Then I discovered the wonderful world of fansubbing, and for the last few months I've been getting back into Asian dramas in a big way. I only discovered D-Addicts recently, though, and I joined yesterday. What a great community you all have here! I've already found one of my favorites from back when I started watching -- "With Love," with Yutaka Takenouchi, who's just so freakishly gorgeous I can't stand it. Lately I've been enjoying Remote and Hana Kimi (the Taiwanese version -- Ella is *so* adorable!), and I'm downloading Sweet 18. I'm currently seeding the collected episodes of With Love, and all the individual episodes of Remote, if you're looking for the torrents.

I'm hoping that maybe I can find some people in my own area (Austin, TX) who enjoy these shows, because isn't it always more fun to watch them with a friend?

I can speak Norwegian, Korean, English, French and to a lesser degree German. I'd really like to learn another Asian language though maybe Mandarin or Cantonese.

Hello there my name is Sarah, I have been into Asian entertainment for a really long time now got into anime when I was in High school through my school's anime club. lol and when I actually did have AZN on my Digital cable I got into Asian Dramas more. I really got into the the dram Rooftop Room Cat, which I never got to see all of and really wanted to.

There are a few series I really want to check out, Goong, Delightful Girl Choon Hyang or Sassy Girl
there were a few Japanese ones I thought looked interesting as well: 風林火山, セーラー服と機関銃 I also really like Jrock and Jpop a lot too....if any of you all have any resources online that you know where I can view any of these shows or buy their dvds I would love the info.

Hi everyone, i'm new here. I've very much enjoyed Japanese cinema for quite a while and i'm a complete telly addict so i've now taken the logical step and started watching Japanese drama. Now i say it like that, it seems so obvious, why didnt i think of it sooner? ;)
