sorry, your pinyin is really funny. it makes it sound more cantonese that way. in case you haven't discovered yet, the song is Cyndi Wang - Huang Hun Xiao, track 5 on the OST.wallflower wrote:For Smiling Pasta, episode 3, when He Qun catches Rita and Xiao Shi is apologizing and leaving.
Lyrics go something like "foong choi a choi, choi a choi" rooofl. Bad pinyin ><;;
Music starts at 00:35, lyrics start at 00:48
btw, the correct pinyin would be "feng chui a chui".

read the first post of the Official Clubbox thread in the Korean Entertainment forum if you don't know how to use clubbox. most of iyagi's clubbox is actually in english, so you shouldn't have trouble finding the file. post in that thread if you have any questions about clubbox.DevL wrote:how can i use iyagi? it's all in korean
Name that song from "My Girl"
Hey,
Does anyone know the song that the hairdresser friend (Ahn Jin-shim) sings a couple of lines from throughout the drama to tease Yoo-rin? The translations say "it's a crime to love you... sin to love you..." and I've tried googling it but I've come up with nothing. If anyone could help me name that song, it'd be great. Thanks!

Hello,
I was watching Goong for the second time around a few days ago, and I noticed that there's one song that often plays, but it isn't in either of the Goong soundtracks. They play it in a lot of episodes. For example, it plays in the last episode (24), where Shin Goon is being led to court or something and Chae-Kyung chases after him...
The lyrics are translated though, the chorus goes:
"I love you, I love you. This is what I learned from you, out of all the phrases in the world. This has become my favourite phrase. I mutter it to myself, as if I were stupid. I'm really for these words that are too late. I wait for you without a sense of honour. Will you return tomorrow by chance..."
Can anyone tell me what this song is? I would really, really appreciate it. I've been wondering for a while now.
EDIT::: I found the song. It's called Parrot, or Aeng Mu Sae... not sure who its by, but its on youtube, as well as limewire.

Looking for some old J-dramas - - please help?
There are four J-dramas that I have been looking for for the past few years. I happened to come across these purely by accident back in the early 90's.
1. Shiratori De Gozaimasu - This was the first J-drama I ever watched. I didn't start watching from the beginning. I was channel surfing and it was on. I saw it had English subtitles and I stopped to watch it and I was in love. I don't remember the story at all but I do remember how much I really liked watching it. I'd like to watch it again, from the beginning!
2. Good Mourning - This was my second J-drama. It came on right after Shiratori De Gozaimasu finished. I'd love to watch this one again too.
3. Bakumatsu Kokosei - *sigh* fell in love with Takeda Shinji in this one. I can't seem to find ANY info for this drama (Fuji TV I believe). It's not even on his list of dramas!
4. Give Us Love - another Takeda Shinji drama I cannot find!
If anyone can tell me where I may be able to find these, I would appreciate it so very much. Thank you all!

HELP, Lookig for these songs
Does anyone have the complete Soulmate OST consisting of more than 100 songs.
Well actually, I really want to find this song from soulmate ep. 3 at the ballerina studio.
Here's a sample of the songs I want.
I would great if someone could identify the songs for me. It's not Jules Messenet, I don't think. I really like the first song he played.

i haven't seen those, but i was hoping to find someone looking for older dorama. i've been trying to find die sterntaler for a while. seems like mid 90's stuff is harder to find (for me). although now i found a dvd double set so i may break down and get that. some popular ones are finally being pressed to what look to be official dvd's.
good luck, and i'll keep my eye out. =)

Older jdramas, especially from the 80s and early 90s are hard to get, mostly because they predate the digital age and requires somebody to have actually recorded it (or bought vhs tapes) and then encode it. Many of these titles aren't in print anymore and were only released in VHS format. I don't care what anybody says about the modern tastes of viewers (because there's obviously a lot of poor quality shows being uploaded now with little abandon), I think this general availability issue is the biggest hurdle.
All seasons of Die Sterntaler are subbed and available. Look for it under its Japanese title "Hoshi no Kinka" or it's English translation "Heaven's Coins".

The Internet isn't your only resource. Many of us still trade VHS tapes over regular mail. If you Google around, you will find Japanese drama trading clubs. Most of the club members do not trade or share over the Internet which, as explained earlier, is why you can't find them on-line or in digital format for that matter. For me, VHS or Betamax is better than nothing.
Also, although D-Addicts hosts the largest community of drama fans, many die-hard fans don't even visit D-Addicts. What you should do instead is visit several of the regional drama communities - most of them of which are hosted by TV stations. Google around for KIKU, KTSF, and other Japanese-oriented TV stations. You may find people at these forums who are willing to trade or sell shows to you.
As for myself, I'm fortunate enough to live in an area (Hawaii) where I can visit other fans on a regular basis. Every Friday night (at Ito Yuna's restaurant), I get together with other people and talk about dramas and other things Japanese. I get most of my 1990s shows out of this group.
Again, don't limit yourself to just the Internet. If you REALLY want to find a particular show, go all-out and try those other sources.

All these suggestions are most helpful and I will do what I can to look into them. I also don't care if the dramas are on VHS or not.
My biggest problem is that when I was in New York, all these different places were available to me but I hadn't reached my peak with my love for these dramas so I never really looked into it. Now, I live in Tampa, FL and people down here...although they are all very very nice people...don't seem to have any interests in anything that isn't American. There are a handful of Asian (Chinese/Indian) families here and I had to look very very hard to find a decent Chinese grocery store since I've acquired a taste for their cuisine (real food not take out food) as I worked for a Chinese company for 10 years.
I miss New York and the diversity. I hate that I have to work harder now to get my hands on these dramas! I've been trying for almost 2 years but I won't give up until I get one or all of the dramas I want.
Off I go to do more searching...

I wish I could help you with that one. I had it on VHS years ago when it first aired but the vcr ate the tape!thejellybean66 wrote:There are four J-dramas that I have been looking for for the past few years. I happened to come across these purely by accident back in the early 90's.

Someone mentioned Kira kira hikaru: I think(????) I have that tape somewhere too, but even if I could find it, uploading it would be a problem since its not on dvd, obviously. I 'll look anyway and hopefully its still in good shape.
Re: Looking for some old J-dramas - - please help?
If you do find the VHS, I can help converting it to digital. I own two professional SVHS players with TBC and color/contrast/brightness manual adjustments. I used this equipment for Mada Koi wa Hajimaranai and Kono yo no Hate (and several others I haven't uploaded.)Kazuya_ wrote:Someone mentioned Kira kira hikaru: I think(????) That would be so great! I watched Kira Kira Hikaru with a friend years ago and it was delightfully weird; I'd love the chance to see it again. (How can you not love a female coroner who wears black leather pants and carries the teeth of her dead sister in a jar in her pocket? I ask you!)groink wrote:If you do find the VHS, I can help converting it to digital.Kazuya_ wrote:Someone mentioned Kira kira hikaru: I think(????) For my part, I'm looking into helping to edit fansubs -- right now it's the only way I really have of contributing to the community.

I forgot to say they only come with Chinese subtitles. Look out for Ep1 this weekend.
That's great that somebody has this drama for you, gglibertine.
I actually dug through my old VHS tapes and found it also, but the quality is not too good. Some of the epiodes have a snowy picture and some of them have a shaky image, which can be problematic to watch. I taped this off International Channel in 1999 and the signal wasn't that great to begin with. Add to that a few years and tape degradation and the result is fair at best I 'd say. Still watchable and the subtitles are fairly clear. But I 'd say most folks might be picky in today's digital age.
I did sit down and watch 2 episodes and I must say I really enjoyed most of this drama again. The character interaction between the four women to me was very good and it stars a couple actresses that I liked to see from that period, Fukatsu Eri and Matsuyuki Yasuko.
Probably not a drama that most would love. ( In fact my friends all thought this drama was kinda slow and boring ). Not a trendy type drama since the main actors aren't big stars and the subject matter isn't normal fare. And there's no real romantic element in it either, rather more about the lives of the women not having much romance.
