Don't know who she is, but still very shocking. It's very sad that she didn't get the support she should have through her depression, resulting in this event. May she rest in peace.

This news is ridiculous....It is not true...For those of you who don't know, the singer U;Nee committed suicide...Yoon Eun Hye and U;Nee are two different people!

Pls check your info before putting something like this up. Yoon Eun Hye and U;Nee are TWO DIFFERENT people. One's a singer and one's in the popular drama Goong.

P.S. Yoon Eun Hye is alive and well.

South Korean actress and pop singer U-Nee was found dead from hanging in her home in Seo-gu Incheon, Sunday afternoon.

U-Nee’s grandmother found the body of the 26-year-old singer hanging from a door frame after she returned from a church service.

Police investigating the death have announced the case was an apparent suicide, though the singer left no note or will. U-Nee’s mother has testified that U-Nee had been suffering from depression.

U-Nee’s third album “Honey” is due for release on February 1. People have speculated U-Nee was suffering from the huge pressure associated with the release of the new album and was upset by online criticisms and attacks.

Why hanging? Whatever happened to 'overdose' or cutting your wrists? In the pass two years this is the second entertainer to hang herself. Lee Eun-ju hung herself also.

I don't know who she is either, but I've noticed this seems to be a rather common thing when it comes to Asian celebrities. There was that girl who starred in the 'Scarlet Letter' who also committed suicide and some other Korean and Chinese actors/actresses whom I can't remember right now.

I still haven't gotten over Lee Eun-joo's suicide from nearly 2 years ago......so having to find out about U;Nee's suicide came as another shocker.

Personally, unlike Lee Eun-joo's case, I didn't have a clue who U;Nee was until I came upon this thread, but the feelings were just the same.

It's scary me to find out just how much pressure idols are under.....that they have to resort to suicide in the end.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Lee Eun-joo also battling depression & suffering from critisms because of her nude scene in "The Scarlet Letter" before her death? I watched "The Scarlet Letter" and I didn't think there was anything she had to be ashamed about...

While all suicides are sad and unfortunate, I find it even sadder that both Lee Eun-joo & U;Nee chose to give up their lives at such a young age (in their early twenties). They had their whole lives ahead of them....

I didn't find anything really too much in the scarlet letter either but people can be really mean for something as miniscule as that and I think the biggest reason was that Lee Eun Joo's family was also ashame partly because of all the retarded and excessive criticism put on her. So basically she have almost next to none in mental support. As far as I know, most celebrities commit suicide through depression and harsh criticism.

Why hanging? Because it's one of the easier and more certain ways to kill yourself, and it's painless. Cutting your wrists almost never works... You have to cut lengthwise down a vein or artery, and you still have to sit in a tub full of hot water. Pills never work.
