I want it to be shorter because when its longer, they tend to drag things out. You never see a Taiwanese drama that is like 30 episodes long take up more than one episode to do the happy ending so you have to wait and watch all the episodes where they throw in twists and turns and then run out of ideas and finally do the ending. (which is usually happy)xxangel wrote:You want it to be shorter or longer than 30?
I dunno...I think they're still filming? Well, that was the last that I heard...a month ago I'm not really caught up with these things.
Taiwanese dramas are the only thing I can get ahead in, since I understand Mandarin Mwahaha...
You're so lucky you understand Mandarin!!!! Im so jealous
well, it's longer than PTF already because PTF was only 20 episodes when originally aired on tv. it only became 30 episodes when released on DVD and on sg tv.OvertheRainbow wrote:Ahh..I wish I was that far into the drama . By the way, how long is it? Please don't tell me its 30 episodes like Prince turns into Frogxxangel wrote:Episode 21 looks intense Hehe...someone getting injured. Yes, it does seem to have some aspects of Prince Turned Into a Frog in it.

Really? It was only 20 episodes? Someone could have told me that because I got so fed up with PTF because the two main characters werent together yet that I skipped some episodes and just decided to watch the ending.habukie wrote: well, it's longer than PTF already because PTF was only 20 episodes when originally aired on tv. it only became 30 episodes when released on DVD and on sg tv.
yea, I must say....ming dao seems to have been type casted. He's always this prince-type character who starts out being an ignorant yet authoritative figure, but then somehow turns into a vunerable and sentamental love fool who waits to be saved by the "princess"
for this reason, I think I'm gonna say pass to his next up and coming dramas.

Gald Im not the only one thinking sofufu wrote:yea, I must say....ming dao seems to have been type casted. Also, I would like to some new people since most of the people that were in PTF are also in this one. And I'm probably going to get really bored if they keep doing dramas that involve two pop groups together like 183 Club with Sweety or 7 Flowers. And why does Sam Wang also get those roles where he is lonely, has no one to care for him but falls in love with the main chracter who then leaves him for Ming Dao while Sam Wang gets Ming Dao's old lover or gf or fiancee.
haha. well, twdramas do tend to drag in the middle. i don't know if you had to watch it with subs or not, but jem's version is the sg tv version, so 30 episodes. otherwise, if you watched the raw tw tv version, it was only 20 episodes. either way, it's pretty long.OvertheRainbow wrote:Really? yeah, that's why i haven't even started watching this one yet. i'll get to it eventually, but i feel like it's always Ming Dao, Ming Dao, Ming Dao... personally, i like Sam better. however, he always get that supporting role...either as the crazy guy or the sensitive friend.OvertheRainbow wrote:Also, I would like to some new people since most of the people that were in PTF are also in this one. Lol...yea as much as I love Ming Dao, he needs to do more diverse roles and like fufu said, stop being typecast as the cold-hearted prince who eventually becomes nice. I feel that they make Sam Wang's character look kind of old and stuff in Magicians of Love...like how can I explain it, he looked much cuter and younger in this clip where he was just being normal.habukie wrote: yeah, that's why i haven't even started watching this one yet. i'll get to it eventually, but i feel like it's always Ming Dao, Ming Dao, Ming Dao... personally, i like Sam better. however, he always get that supporting role...either as the crazy guy or the sensitive friend.

Yea, the storys are really really and yet I'm going to watch it till the end . I seriously do not like the guy who plays Fernandoxxangel wrote:I like Sam better, too. And, I don't like how Ming Dao is that main character dude again. Bleh...the two stories are too similar. But then again, it basically has the same cast.
Yeah I agree, Ming Dao's last few roles have been quite similar... The first half of these dramas are always so interesting and then just fall flat and start dragging like there's no end. But we watch the end anyway.
There's a new drama starring Ming Dao that just started... wonder if his role is any different...
Just finished watching ep 19 and there's another random side story again

I've been reading your posts here and i have to agree with ya'll. I hate it that they always make Sam Wang the supporting "other" guy. The guy who always loses to Ming Dao. I love MIng Dao but i'd like to see Sam Wang win the girl every now and then! I already finished episode 12 and im waiting for the rest but so far i've been rooting for Richie. And it makes me mad that he wont be the one getting the girl in the end! I also couldnt believe that they casted 2 pop groups in this drama....AGAIN! Although this drama does have alot of differences than Prince turns into Frog, it still has alot of similarities. Too bad its just too dang addicting for me to stop watching or even care all that much! You know, i also wouldnt mind some spoilers from those who have already watched up to ep. 19-21...pm please?

i hate that too, how ShaoWei has played the guy that loses the girl in the end, in both Magicians of Love and Prince Turn to Frog. and once again, MingDao is playing the main character, who gets the girl at the end. i want ShaoWei to win and get the girl!jpoplover08 wrote:I've been reading your posts here and i have to agree with ya'll. and the entire 183 club is in this series together, just like Prince Turn to Frog. well, except Johnny, which is okay by me, since he's my least favorite. ugh, stop with this idol casting! i'd rather they act separately in their own dramas (where ShaoWei might actually play a lead and get the girl!)
btw, ShaoWei's Cantonese makes me cringe. he's trying, i know. doesn't make me cringe any less though!

Eeeef the ending was so goofy!
I can't believe Xiao Bei is only 17??? According to her profile, she was born on Nov 1988... younger than me ;____;
the next series at this time is called Smile Pasta... o__o

Oh no! Are u kidding? Richie will end up with Qing Kong??? Oh gosh, then I prefer Kei Lan. I love Ming Dao in Prince who turn to frog but I root for Richie in this drama. I'm currenttly watching up to ep 15. So dissappointed!!! Poor Richie!!! I will definitely support him from now on. Hope he can lead a role to win the girl over soon.Cleo wrote:I like this serie a lot, it's so funny the way Ya Si and Xiao Bei are arguing. I hope it goes on like that and I want a lot of romantic scenes between them and a lot of kisses too lol Richie you're nice but Ya Si is better so go back to Hong Kong (and don't forget to take Qing Kong with you lol)

yea...He'll probably end up with Ke Lan because his son likes her. I like Richie but not his hairstyle, it's kinda weird but so is Ya Si's..his hairstyle was soooo much hotter when he was pretending to be Ya Jun. One thing I can't stand is the stupid phrase "I'm a child/person without a tomorrow" and the other phrase is annoying too though not as annoying. "No..you won't because you will have me in your tomorrow"...ahhh...I want to hurt the next person in the drama that says that againroseltv wrote: Oh no! Are u kidding? That's because the drama that was supposed to air after Magicians of Love, Smile Pasta, didn't meet their deadline so they had to extend TMOL...luckily they're endingit ay 22..if they go any farther, I'd stop watching it.KCfan_1314 wrote:is cute but in some episode i realli don`t get the point . . they add just random stuff in . . and wen they were about to end it .. they have another plot so yeah >_<` confusing . .

geez...you made me think the character Xiao Bei was 17..I was thinking that Ming Dao's character was commiting a crime or something...Her real name is Zeng Zhi Qiao (Joanne [ugly name..I'm sorry..it doesn't fit her] Zengaibiwashere wrote:Eeeef the ending was so goofy!

Haha, maybe everyone has different opinions. I like Richie's hair's style. Don't know why, I just like it. And that phrase about "tomorrow". It's ok for me. Am I too unrealistic?OvertheRainbow wrote:

Qiao qiao does look young and she's cute too but I don't like her acting much. It's not natural. isn't it?
nah, I was thinking of Kim Jae Won...hahahahahaOvertheRainbow wrote:This is off-topic but when I first saw the guy from Smile Pasta...I thought he looked really similar to Lee Dong-wook. Anyways, isn't Ming Dao like twenty-something? (25?)..I remeber because I viewed his profile and said that he was too old to be in a boy band.
SUBlimes won't rest "tomorrow". Our "tomorrow" will have raen and fufu QCing the last 3 episodes of TMOL
hey...it's not our fault that the characters keep saying "tomorrow"...hahaha. We've tried using "future" where ever posible!
Lol i thought richie's hairstyle was the nicest, in love magicians... it was so much better then his other hairstyle in prince turns to frog drama.OvertheRainbow wrote: yea...He'll probably end up with Ke Lan because his son likes her. Ming Dao is type-cast as Prince Charming. I fell in love with him when I first watched him at Prince Turn into frog. Nevertheless, I am going to catch him in every single drama he has acted in. I am finished watching this drama. Not too bad, quite funny at certain parts. But it did not make it into my favourite list which Prince who turns into frog did.fufu wrote:yea, I must say....ming dao seems to have been type casted. Artz is definitely the hottest guy here. He's got both good side that made him seem like a prince charming and a dark side, which makes him irressistable and charming! The Magicians of Love is definitely one of my favorite. I also think that this is Ming Dao's best series! He and Joanne Zeng made a great pair!
