anyone know any good ones?
not a huge fan of the cutesy cheesy high school stuff but it can be overlooked if the cast is hot ;)

I've heard that Shen Qing Mi Ma (Silence) was very sad melodrama. I haven't seen it yet because I don't want to watch anything that sad right now.weewoo wrote:basically i just want something that is meaningful and tear-jearking. i mean the lie on your bed with a box of tissues and just sob kind of drama.

Agree. Silence is a sad drama. But you will waste your life if you don't watch it, a lot of lessons to learn. Plus, Vic Chou is the BEST in Silence ;)iluvasiandrama wrote:I've heard that Shen Qing Mi Ma (Silence) was very sad melodrama. qian shan mu xue -sealed with a kiss.
This drama includes an relationship where the boy loves the girl, but tortures the girl to bits but truly cares and protects her. Your tear ducts will go crazy for this drama! It just finished airing 2 days ago. If you want the drama, just PM me.
This drama scored one of the highest ratings in China's provincial station Hunan TV,also it is garnering a lot of attention in forums and on the online community with Baidu etc.
A must watch!!
Finally the acting by the male lead is awesome in this!!

Ruyis love in the royal palace (87 episodes) (it depends on your point of view but I would say a mostly sad ending)//WARNING very extreme in the drama lies and tragedy a very serious drama but its worth it to watch)weewoo wrote: ↑Mar 30th, '11, 14:19 basically i just want something that is meaningful and tear-jearking. i mean the lie on your bed with a box of tissues and just sob kind of drama.

Re: Saddest Chinese Drama?
2021 DRAMA!!!!! the female and male leads are the same.
historical (original): One and Only
link for the first episode with english subs:
A follow-up in modern time: Forever and Ever
link for the first episode with english subs:
The historical one is super sad, it doesn't need a lot of narration with good actors and actresses.
So glad there is a modern follow-up story or I'll cry my eyes out...eeek

Re: Saddest Chinese Drama?
I know this thread is already 10 years old, but ... As of 2021, for me saddest drama ever was "the Wolf". I have cried every few episodes, so sad, so devastating. Not only main characters had the inherently sad story, but all the supporting characters had some back story, that would make you cry now and then ....
For someone who likes Wuxia jenre it would be perfect ...
Also soundtrack is top notch. I actually started watching because of the song artist I've known, Jonny J, made for this drama.
