Another potential seeder pleads please, please, someone post this year's Kohaku... but preferably not before it's available :D

Actually, I believe it should be stating about now... Thursday, Dec. 31, 2030 Tokyo time.

Yeah, I'm watching it over here, it's almost over. I thought Susan Boyle was amazing, and the interview was pretty funny at the start. This years is really good, I'd be willing to download it and watch it again later.

First half of the Kokaku is already up on JPopsuki. It is 11GB.

--Edit--

Part 2 is now up, you will need a 35gb of space, maybe a little less.

HD is 3GB, at least, per 30 minutes. Do the math. Show started at 7:15, BTW.

Oh, and it is like 1080P. The only thing you can get is whatever was on the TV feed, and that is 1080P, You have to wait for someone to reencode. Maybe something next week.

Oh, ok, didn't realize it was in HD, it makes sense then.

Yep, almost everything is now 1080P.

Oh, and for anyone JPS please remember that you have to maintain your ratio there, so try to seed for a couple of weeks after you finish the download, otherwise you will get banned.

Not living in Japan, I have no idea, but all of the music shows are now in HD there, and I don't even want to view anything there that isn't.

Would love to have this for my wife for tonight, though tomorrow would be good as well.

I am getting @50Kbs on each now but that will still take a couple of days.

mburchil, Would love a smaller torrent. I will DL and seed both to help speed things up.

I'll seed the recode! I'm looking forward to a lot of the performances from this year's Kohaku.

That Susan Boyle video was brilliant, by the way!

I guess speeds will go up when the Japanese wake up ?! I hope anyway, for 20 secs or so right up to 130Kb/s then back down to 11 etc :(

4.6% with part 1 and 2.9% with part 2 so far

I hope someone will post a less huge version of it here or somewhere. I'm just going to watch it on my regular TV and I don't have hard drive space or the need to watch it in such hi res.

(I realize I'm probably the last person on the planet without an HD TV... )

Yep interested technically to see how good the quality is - easy for them with their TB drives and superfast upload speeds

Can you recommend a good US torrent site btw ? I'm looking for HD versions of Letterman and Monk etc ??

They will, but it won't be for a few days, as they have to download it, then re-encode it, and that takes time.

Yeah, I think it was January 2nd when it was posted last year...I'm just wondering if the odds of it being posted at all are slimmer this year. I guess we'll see. :-)

50 people have downloaded the first part, and 25 the second, so my guess is tomorrow. It was requested, and 1GB of BP bounty on it, so I am sure someone will start the re-encode today.

You need to go and take math again, because 11.68+19.11=30.79. Yes, it is two big files.

Oh, and I hope you just weren't downloading the second part.

If anyone who has downloaded the full thing is reading this can you please make it into something smaller, say a divx and post it. I know I was hoping to watch a bit of it tonight, but I won't be able to at the Speeds I am getting.

Can you please be calm and just wait. Someone on JPS will convert it because there is over a 1gb bounty on it, just give it some time, and zip the lip, because it isn't going to make it happen any faster.

This is just like nagging for subtitles.

Interesting, I figure I'll give that version a try, although at 164 minutes it must be heavily edited (maybe they cut the enka and comedy or something?).

Thanks for the lead! :salut:

Japanese is a bit rusty but I believe at the end of that title is the character for bottom, meaning the beginning of the show. There should be one with a up or on character for the second half.

Thanks much for the info about it being available on JPopsuki. I will patiently wait for a smaller version to become available, but it's exciting to know it's up already. Isn't even New Year's here in Hawaii yet for another six and a half hours :)

I hope someone can upload a smaller version too. My computer can't play that. :-(

I would've been watching and recording it on tv this year, except they had to move it to a sub channel that I can't get since I have a satellite dish.

About Jpopsuki: Torrents in HD that are raw or rip (like the Kouhaku ones) are freeleech, so you can join and leech them (it won't count towards your download). It will be nice if you can seed back, but you won't be banned if you don't (since you would anyways end positive)).
SouthsideIrish wrote:Can you please be calm and just wait. Someone on JPS will convert it because there is over a 1gb bounty on it, just give it some time, and zip the lip, because it isn't going to make it happen any faster.

True enough. In any case, I added +3gb to the bounty to make it (hopefully) appear faster.

Sigh, sure it is freeleech, but better to get not the habit of seeding, otherwise my head will explode. And downloading and seeding this one means that you can be a real pig later.

Contrary to many, I believe everyone contributes with what they can. If you can download a 19gb file but cannot upload (because your upload is not up to the task, or because you ran out of hard disk and must archive/delete it), it is fine too, since you gave 19gb of upload to the swarm (and in private trackers if nobody downloads then nobody can upload and therefore the chain is broken). JPS is a little different with the bonus system, but my thoughts about the matter are the same.

In any case, if here is uploaded the same files from JPS (contrary to having a d-addicts member download the raw and reencode it) I will help seeding it here.

Ah, but you do not have to upload a lot because of the BP. Set your upload to 5kps and just collect the points and trade them in. I only seed 8 hours a day at 30kps and I have no problems maintaining ratio. If this is your first time there then use this as a chance to learn the BP system.

BP system, eh? Yeah, heard about that. A few hours ago I reached 100k BPs :-)

That was a really good video on youtube. I was so happy to see that Takuya Kimura did the escorting and intro for Susan. I thought she looked rather charming and so glad they have not tried to glamorise her.

Ah :-) Well, but the 上 part doesn't seem to start at the very beginning of the show... Oh well, we weren't feeling well last night (not up to watching 4 hours of anything) so we'll probably hold out for the smaller torrent, but it's extremely nice to know that the streaming video option is there if we get desperate. :thumleft:

I got the first half last night but the second half is coming down at like 12kbps ... It doesn't seem like anyone is seeding. I am encoding a smaller file right now for the first half, but I would love to have the second half so I can also encode that.

JPS got them, 1.96 GB and 2.64 GB. (XViD 704x396, mp3 320kbps 48khz) Unfortunately the tracker died at least for me, it isn't replying, so it will take a good while (2 seeds only).

(Edited: There, connected to 20 peers that have 0% done, a few with between 1 and 50, and no seeds. Won't be watching this after waking up :-().

The first part was about 8 hours, part 2 is now running for 11 hours and approximately 4-8 hours left...
