I haven't seen GTO, but Orange Days is good. As for where to download GTO and Orange Days, both are available here and I suggest you download the batch torrents since they contain all the episodes with subtitles in it.

You can't compare GTO and Orange Days as they're both totally different type of dramas.
On the contrary, if you wanna to laugh your @$$ off...watch GTO...on the other hand,if you wanna lose some tears and probably some humour, watch Orange Days.
I've watched them both.GTO is my 1st japanese drama and it is highly recommended.Orange Days is also a MUST watch...so..umm...dun choose...watch em' both

Oooerr.. this is kind of tough to judge . GTO has become a classic on its own. Orange Days is brilliant. But, they both belong in 2 different genres. If you want do want compare ..then..hmmm... GTO vs Gokusen . :D :D :D

But hands down : I 'd choose GTO.......anytime!! 8) 8)

you cannot compare between them since both are different gener!

GTO is comedy + highschool problems and issues + teens issues
Orange days has romance + deep relationships + adult/young people issues

if you are into high school issues then GTO will work for you.
if you want meaningful relationship/issues then Orange days will be the one.

why not watch both! they are a must for Jdrama fans!

As stated, both are completely different so it is hard to compare the two. However, overall, I enjoyed GTO just a little more than I did Orange Days. But Orange Days isn't something you want to miss either.

I don't really think these two can be compared. It depends on what type of drama you like better I guess. GTO is more of a lighthearted comedy with that typical uplifting lecture by the leading man at the end of every episode. GTO was a great watch, but I think Orange Days has more substance. Orange Days I could relate to how the characters were feeling, and it just seemed more real to me. It's a very touching drama. Kou Shibasaki is very charming in it as the proud Sae, and the actor for Kai whose real name is currently unknown to me haha, is how shall I say , hmmm... HOT? :P

like others have said in this thread, it's kinda hard to make comparisons between gto and orange days, cuz gto is a bit more lighthearted.

GTO drama, then special, I wouldn't bother with the movie since it's horrible, but it comes last .

GTO for me is far better. I guess I could identify with it better even though the lengths Onizuka Sensei goes to to help ppl are a bit outrageous.

In Orange Days, I kept feeling there had to be a better way for the ppl in the show to handle things and I kept wanting to get in there and scream at them.

Hahaha
