Otakus are so popular these day. Now they are making a movie about an otaku with girls...not 1 not 2 but 3 girls! This is going to be good
. There's a trailer on the website, click on the purple button to see the trailer. Can someone tell me what does Chikan Otoko means?

Chikan means "Pervert". I can imagine what this story is about.

I can't believe someone actually had the nerve to rip off Densha Otoko. >< Then again, I guess someone would, eventually.
doinkies saw the trailer. It looked doinky, and again it was a total ripoff...
I probably will not see this movie.

It's based off a book which also came from the 2ch boards like densha so it's not ripping it off just cashing in on the same thing.
I was just looking about and I think the main character is Yanagi Koutarou (19), who I also read directs the film (bit young to be directing a big movie isn't he?)

NOT A SERIES. It's a movie. It sounds cute. And besides, I don't think anything could one-up Densha
I think that making more series like it would just dull it's awesomeness, you know? It's one of those things where you only need one (like Harry Potter. If JK Rowling made another series in Hogwartz, it'd just get old after a while and everyone would be sick of it).

I heard it is also based on the same forum as Densha Otoko but it's definitely not as popular.

Yeah wow...that does look a lot like Densha Otoko. But hey, Disney is doing the same thing right now, making a movie that is JUST like Madagascar.

chikan otoko, essencially, is the story of a young otaku who is claimed to be a stalker by one of the three girls in the movie.
of course, there's silly stupid romance, and then it's all over. >D;;

It's available on avistaz(a private tracker):
http://bt.avistaz.com/details.php?id=47 ... 2ef87a9069
I believe registration is required but I'm not sure if they are at the limit in terms of registrations. I'm sure it'll be available on public torrents shortly.
To my knowledge the English subs aren't yet available.
