documentary programs about Japan

Post by Eliza » Apr 17th, '06, 01:32

Hello minna san^^
I’m starting this thread, because I’m interested in Japan and I’m looking for documentary about this country. I’m sure I’m not the only one^^

So…
I’m uploading documentary programs on http://clubbox.co.kr/dokidoki I’m starting with BBC series.
The title of this ep. is ‘Shopping in Japan’. If I see you guys downloading it, I will upload other episodes (‘Sex in Japan’ ‘Future in Japan’ ‘Music in Japan’).
This isn’t a popular file, I guess, so it might be slow at the beginning, be patient^^

If you know other clubboxes with documentary about Japan (and other Asian countries), please tell me!

Doki doki clubbox is a new clubbox, but we have big planes for it. So if you like the idea about documentary programs (and movies and dramas) pleas support this CB by downloading other files from it! ( we have to collect points-_-‘)]

‘Shopping in Japan’ is actually about shopping in Tokio^__^ It will tell you about: Japanese ppl loving shopping, treating it as a group activity. Japanese feel it is not good to be different to the ppl around them, so they must be ‘up to date’ with everything. Shopping is art. Akihabara and gadgets. 100 yen stores and big expensive department stores. Service. Changing trends. Advertising. Charisma girls. Parasite singles. etc
It is in English and Japanese with Eng. subs.

When you say " Tokio" do you mean "Tokyo" or is it a place that actually exists in Japan by that name

Tokyo was actually "Tokio" (時男) back in old historical documents.

Tokyo is and was 東京 (well it used to be Edo 江戸until 1868)

Tokio was the old way to spell 東京 in English.

Literally East 東 Capital 京
It was in reference to Kyoto in the west.

To download this file you need clubbox instaled (www.clubbox.co.kr - for the instructions and FQA see official clubbox thread: http://www.d-addicts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=14132), and than go to clubbox.co.kr/dokidoki and choose the file you want to download.
or use this direct links:

Everyting is fine! Don't worry. It's is the CB fault and it can't be fixed. Because this file is not popular, and is not on other clubboxes, it is slow, and it can take really long time to start downloading. You have to be patient! It will work for sure- (there are ppl who dl it succesfully)- if you wait long enough^^ meanwhile you can dl one of the movie that are there^^

Good stuff :thumright: I've downloaded the other two off your clubbox (Shopping in Japan and Sex in Japan). Only seen the Shopping one so far. It was really good, only 13 mins though which was disappointing because i was really enjoying it.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I still liked them though... I thought the Sex in Japan one was a little explicit though but I guess that's the only way to explain it. The music and shopping ones eemed very interesting. Keep 'em coming! :thumright:

Hey Eliza! :-)

These shows sound really cool. Where can I download them? I've been flicking through my digital TV stations try'na find a documentary on Japan to watch.

Did anyone watch a show on BBCThree in the UK called Adam & Joe go Tokyo? I only caught the last 3 episodes, but it was really cool and funny. Basically, about these 2 white dudes who go to Japan and try to make it big and also take in Japanese culture along the way. (They'd do film and music reviews at the start of every show as well).

There was one episode where they went to a host bar to try their hand at hosting; I was cringing the whole time! *laughs* These 2 guys cannot speak a WORD of Japanese and the poor girl being hosted is sitting there confused like "What the f*%^!?!?" The other hosts are sitting at the table just as confused. :lol

:lol I'm the same as of late! TV repeats all the stuff you don't wanna see and doesn't repeat what you wanna see! Adam & Joe go Tokyo was a real cool show, it was a shame I only caught the last few episodes and that the series didn't go on for longer or return for another series. :-(

By the way, what the hell do I click on to download the files I want? I'm clicking on everythin' like a mad man and getting no such luck. [/i]

Hmmm... seems you didn't use Clubbox before...
You have to install the downloader.
And it works with IE only >__<
But this programe REALLY IS worth installing! It's the best source of files ever ^__^

somwhere here are tutorials about that... you can search some clubbox threads for it.
This are "outside" linksto some tutorials, it might look complicated, but the truth is it's really easy! ^^
