japanese culture question

Post by kotaeshiranaihito » Sep 12th, '06, 16:42

I recently watched a drama "koukou kyoushi" (high school teacher) and in it ueto aya was making some kind of ghosts or something to get a wish granted. Anyone know what those were? Are they part of japanese culture, or is it something completely different.

If this topic is in the wrong area, I'm sorry and feel free to move it.

I think you're talking about "teru teru bozu," but I'd have to rewatch to make sure. (Wikipedia link)

Actually, I kind of like the idea of a thread about cultural-related stuff brought up in dramas....
It's good to recycle... :whistling:
