Sending Money To Japan
I'm going to be sending money to a friend in Japan. It's about 100,000 yen/800 USD so I'd like to be CERTAIN the money doesn't get lost anywhere. Can I get some suggestions on a very reliable(and hopefully cheap) way to send money to someone in Japan. Or is there a credit card that is accepted in most Japanese stores so that I can just give her my credit card number?

Have her get a PayPal account. If she can't or doesn't want to, my pick would be Western Union. I used it a couple of times.
Make sure, though, to be very precise with the location you're sending it to. It probably doesn't apply at all for sending money to Japan, but I still want to share this story. When I was in San Diego (uh, California) and my mom sent me some money via Western Union, I went there and they informed me that they could not give me the money because it had not been sent within 50 miles of there. I called Western Union and asked them where the hell my money was, and they told me that they had accidentally sent it to San Diego... FLORIDA. Huh?
Well, it worked out in the end.

Hm...I've heard that Western Union fails at sending money to Japan. Guy tried to send it to Japan, friend was told he needs to pick it up in Missouri O_o
lol@Nea...I guess you got nothing on this guy ^_~
I don't know if she has a problem with paypal. I do however.
Citibank sounds pretty good to me. I'll look into that.
Thanks for the suggestions so far.
