Here's hoping it is reasonably priced. none of this 6,000¥ per month malarchy.
Pricing is out... ¥4,980/month. That's a little over USD 50.

Ugh...too expensive for something LQ and not real-time.
It says ¥4,980/month for 14 channels. Is it possible to subscribe to just half the channels?

don't you do only get half of the channels, the Tokyo 7 or the Osaka 7.
I think the value of this service is higher than some of its live streaming equivalents. It does not give you the live broadcast, but does give you access to the previous 7 days schedule from each of the broadcasters, which is a whole lot more content for your money. Also, as the stream is actually progressive download rather than a live stream, it dumps the asf into a temp directory, so you can copy it some place and watch it later.
That said, $50 is still a high price considering the content and stream quality. A premium HD sports subscription in my country costs about the same.

I see they've updated the page since the last time I've looked at it. Before they had all the details in place, it had a sentence in red font saying, "14 channels = ¥4,980." Looking at the ordering page now, I still get the impression that it's for both the Tokyo and Osaka channels.
I agree that being able to access the backlogged content is a nice benefit that separates it from its competitors, but for that price, I think I'd rather have a decent quality live stream that I can record myself even with the possibility that I may miss out on some content. (I'm not familiar with what streaming services are popular today, so if anyone has recommendations, I'm all ears.) Still, I'd prefer it if NTKTV could be a little more affordable and customizable in its offering. If I could subscribe to half the channels and pay just half the price, I'd probably buy it right now.

+1 The quality is not soo good for ¥4,980.
In addition, they are some bug, when i tried the test version.
Anyway, i prefer to watch online tv only.

Does anyone have any idea why the sound on Keyhole TV is not working for me? I unchecked and checked the mute button and reinstalled a few times, but still no luck.

Sound is working, but only if we consider "working" as being 45 seconds ahead of video. Or behind.
It gives me headaches...
It behaves erraticaly.

Yeah, when mine was fully working, I had the same issue. It would work, but freeze occasionally to the point that the video froze completely.
But freshverse isn't working, TvAnts often does not have the main channels, so this is the best alternative x_x

Yeah, TVAnts showed me middle finger when I was trying to watch something. And I lost about 5 pounds trying to beat Keyhole. It's not working as it should. And I turned off every program that could eventually slow it, torrents, clubbox, weather channel, everything.
I have no idea what's wrong.
The freezing is another issue, I had to refresh it (close and open) every minute. Believe, 3-hour show like this is a nightmare.

I am testing a streaming Japanese TV web interface with TV guide. If you would like to try it out, link and more information is here:

What is this? I followed the Bit.ly link to the ShareCash site and tried to unlock the download by filling in the survey (tried twice), but all it does it try to get me to sign up for promotional offers. Seems like a scam to me.

I edited the page for help on how to download.
Back on topic:
4/15/2010 JST KeyHole Service and Home page will stop by Power constraction at 4/16/2010 10:00 (AM) - 13:00 (JST).
Also, KeyHoleTV is officially available on the following cellphones:
1. E-Mobile (NOT Wireless LAN)
2. NTT HTC-Z (only Wireless LAN)
3. HP IPAQ
4. AT&T BlackJack (GPRS)
5. AT&T 8525 (GPRS, wireless LAN)
6. T-Mobile Dash
7. SoftBank X01HT X02HT
Unofficially, I know there is a KeyholeTV for iPhone. Any others?

NTKTV is expensive, but because I used it during the trial phase I can't go back to the days of not having on-demand TV. So in the end, I ordered the 29,880 yen option (195 days) and it is amazing!

I tested the other streams, and I noticed the jump in sound and picture in those as well. In Winamp, the streams are much smoother though.

Little bit, yeah. But the streams are also a lot more consistent now (or maybe it's just because I recently switched to a faster internet), so that's a small price to pay xD Not quite Keyhole quality, but not so much HD anymore either.

A message from the streams owner:
Down for now. I can’t keep up with the demands this has required. I know some of you have said you would pay for a better service but I can’t really guarantee I could provide a level of service you would enjoy. Maybe we’ll be back sometime in the future, who knows.

I just checked the Freshverse page for the first time in ages, and it's not working for me. However, the webmaster is noting that the latest Flash update is causing problems so maybe downgrading would fix it (I'm too lazy to try it myself, though).

This looks like one of those free link aggregators masquerading as revolutionary broadcast quality IP TV.
Avoid. There won't be any Japanese TV here apart from that which is already freely available, such as the FNN news stream.

Actually, I am 99% sure you are paid to post messages on this website and maybe other website. The more messages you post, the more your SPAM link in your signature shows up on Google when it index this website.
BTW, we are not that stupid. As a moderator, I can see that all of your postings come from IP addresses that are in Pakistan and not in the US like your profile say.
So be nice to each other and no links to commercial website in your signature. A link to your blog or YouTube channel is fine. But don't push it by putting it into the message body.
