Whenever I try to go to D-Addicts using the Opera browser (version 26.0.1656.60)at either the old or new address for the forums I get the error message "This webpage is not available - The webpage at https://www.d-addicts.com/forums/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address."
I've tried clearing cookies. Unfortunately, Opera doesn't have a "Flush DNS" option (or at least none they are admitting to) although I've cleared the History settings to the year dot. As Opera is based on the Chrome open source engine, I'm wondering if it's happening on other Chrome based browsers too. I had to download Firefox before I could get on the site. Is there any way to get Opera to read the new site address or am I stuck with Firefox?
[Question] How can I get Opera to accept the new forum?
Re: [Question] How can I get Opera to accept the new forum?
I use Opera(28.0.1745.0) too but for me work smoothly. Maybe you have some extension which block something.
Re: [Question] How can I get Opera to accept the new forum?
Are you perhaps using a VPN based extension?
Also try using http://www.d-addicts.com/forums first (note the http compared to https), as Opera may have initially encountered an invalid SSL certificate.

Re: [Question] How can I get Opera to accept the new forum?
I have a VPN, but not as a browser extension. I've tried switching it off and it makes no difference. The http link doesn't work either. Basically, Opera is not letting me view this site. I'm stumped as to what I can try next, other than use Firefox whenever I go on here
Re: [Question] How can I get Opera to accept the new forum?
I still can't get in using the Opera browser, however I now get a new error message:
"This page cannot be displayed because it uses an unsupported protocol".
Firefox access only then.

Yes. I've even upgraded the browser and tried it with the newest developers alpha version. Opera does not want to know D-Addicts.

I haven't seen this error message before. Is it generated by the forum?Badvoc wrote:"This page cannot be displayed because it uses an unsupported protocol".
The problem is probably neither on your side (Opera browser) nor on our side (D-Addicts webserver). Since December 2014 our server uses CloudFlare as proxy. I guess that CF is blocking you for some reason. (I noticed that at least one of your IP addresses is blacklisted on ClearTalk for example.) Maybe you can fix that Opera problem by bypassing the CF proxy and by accessing our server directly.
You can access our forum directly if you add the following line to the hosts file on your computer.
Code: Select all
46.165.216.85 www.d-addicts.com
Let me know if the trick with the hosts file worked for you.
