DramaFever - KDrama Streaming for US and Canada

Post by Ruroshin » Sep 8th, '09, 08:19

I've been contacted by a co-founder of DramaFever.com about his site and I think its good to promote a legal way to view streamking kdrama so I'm promoting it here.

DramaFever is a new legal video site for Asian TV shows, currently focusing on Korean dramas. Videos are available as complete hour-long episodes in high quality with English subtitles. The site is free to use with a few ads during each episode, and there will be an optional ad-free subscription plan offered soon. DramaFever has been working closely with the broadcasters as well as fansub groups such as WITH S2 to make dramas available with high quality subs. Please note that this service is currently only available to those located in the US and Canada due to licensing issues. They are working hard to make the site accessible worldwide over time.

About 60 Korean dramas are online as complete series, with two or more new titles being added each week. Japanese and Chinese dramas are planned to go online soon too. Titles currently available are:

· 90 Days, Time to Love (http://www.dramafever.com/drama/60)

DramaFever recently added more dramas: (http://www.dramafever.com/featured/?b=a)

A Man Called God
Angel's Temptation
Bad Couple
Dandelion Family
Prince's First Love
Queen Seondeok
Road No. 1
Snow Queen
Spring Waltz
Swallow the Sun
Tamra the Island
Unstoppable High Kick
Woman Who Still Wants to Marry
You're Beautiful

They've also added dramas from other Asian countries, including three filipino dramas and a Japanese drama from the 70's.

This week is "Japanese week" on Dramafever too - 'cause Moyashimon and other Japanese dramas seem to be on their "coming soon" list

I've been going to Dramafever for awhile now and it's really nice to go to a place where I can legally watch streaming video.

I have been having a few issues with the videos lately, I don't know if it's universal or not but I hope they fix it. I often get the videos stopping right in the middle so I have to reload and then try and go back to the spot I left off. Sometimes the sound stops working. And tonight it doesn't seem to want to let me watch Tamra because the player just doesn't seem to load :( I really like going there because it's faster to watch the dramas I like. I hope this issues don't keep up.

Is anyone else having the same issues I am?

buffering issues tend to happen a lot - I get them sometimes too, but i think they're usually a mixture of bad internet connection on our end, and then a loading connection on DramaFever's end. usually it's ok for me. one time i got to watch what's up fox with no ads! it just never loaded (and i wasn't a premium user!) lol.

Sometimes I don't get the adds, but if I don't get the adds I get more of the video stopping issues.

I'm really sorry to ask, but since I can't find anywhere the answer I need to do it: someone knows how to rip (and then take/download call it what you want) subs from Drama Fever?
Even since it was an open option of that site to download subs, now it's not but I see here and there on the web people that share DF subs. So a method to take them now must have to exist!
But what is it?
Someone can tell me?
Please don't say the "viki method" since I already tried it without success.

I mean, I don't want to know to take their subs like a crazy and spread them around, I just want to take subs of the raw drama I have and keep them just for me.

I've already contact those people I've wrote above, but they didn't reply back.

PS: sorry if my english is not perfect.

The problem I have with these streaming services is that the subtitles are too small, too big, too light, too fast, too short, and hard to read. I don't understand why foreign companies won't make easy to read fonts? Imagine how much more popular they would be if they were actually easy to read? I have no problem with paying for streaming sites...but the subtitles are horrible.
