well ~ I'm aware of that there are many anti-JE (Johnny's Entertainment) people here XD
But I'm looking forward to watching the Hey! Say! guys coz I find them promising ~
each one of them has something unique XD and let's just wait to see them here...
and yah it's a School drama, but I hope that it's going to be different :D

OK the last thing should be mentioned is that C.H.L.O.E. Project is going to make hardsubs
we wish them all the best :-)

CHLOE project is going to sub the drama:

http://community.livejournal.com/chloep ... 16483.html

They might do both softsubs as well, but they are definitely doing hardsubs for Scrap Teacher!

There is a Chinese sub group(326 Sub) has release MKV video with 3 languages, Chinese, English, and Japanese. I was able to extract the English ASS sub file from it and re-sync it to my raw file. Since I can't write Chinese to save my life, I don't know how to get permission from them to release the English subs. I think they are up to 3 episode now.

Attached is the release image attach to the MKV file. The URL to their website is on it.

The sub for ep2 on there is extracted the MKV file, but it needs to be re-sync to match up to my raw file. I do hope people don't bother the person who setup that Live Journal site. As he/she will stop putting up new episodes, if too many requests are made. Anyway, the 326 sub is on an invite only site, so it's pretty hard to get their releases other than from the Live Journal site.

XrayMind thanks for the news :D
I did check the softsubs for ep2 with your raw file, and it worked well (with KMPlayer)

so guys there is a hardsub for ep.01 in that livejournal link + a softsub for ep.02

I also really must admit that the OST of this dorama is more than just amazing!!

but I hope the next episodes will have more logic XD

Yes, the ep2 softsub is extracted from episode 2 MKV file. 326 didn't hardsub their releases. They just embedded 3 different sub files in the MKV file.

Since you open this pandora's box, here's the English sub from episode 1.

hmmm they couldn't find more good-looking boys nowadays, huh? i can see that the boys look worse per generation...the best way to take a look at it is thru watching gokusen 1 2 3...i wonder when the japs would find someone like takuya kimura and the likes in the future...current dramas got only ugly and untalented newbies IMHO...Gakko ja Oshierarenai, Gokusen 3...Kaozora? koazora? that doesnt look nice too...the worst of all must have been Gakko...where did they find those boys...

she plays the role of a typical teacher, but she has many activities/ideas and some r foolish (ex. ep.02 when she was offering something crazy for Chinen Yuri XD )

XrayMind, the subs that you posted, are those what you re-timed to the raws you released?

EDIT: OMG IT IS!!!
Arigatou gozaimasu!!!
If you could, it would be great to see the rest of the soft subs up here too as I have already downloaded all the RAWs from d-addicts. ^^

I've just finished watching episode 1+2 with the subs posted above
in episode two in ca the second half the timing doesn't match. the subs are earlier than the video for ca 2 seconds or more (=> 704x396 version)
you can watch this with it but I didn't like it

and a question: can someone make a .srt file of the softsub for episode 3 from this livejournal?
because my Medusa can't open it

LOL did I sound that evil? =P

I just hope people would read my notes first before asking me things that I've already answered that's all.. =P

So the raw file and the files I posted ain't of the same timing?

and btw, epi 4 is uploaded~ Just wait for kind souls to extra the softsubs out~ =P

Thanks to everyone who provided subtitels to this (don´t care that much about if they are srt or ass or if the timing is 100% accurate or not, as long as it helps me to follow the story. My Japanese gets better day by day, but it is far away from understanding the whole thing without subtitels...).
"Scrap Teacher" is a somewhat strange series to me, but it´s highly entertaining and the cast is awesome. By the way: Does anybody know who the actor of Sawatari is? He looks a lot like Takumi Ito to me, but I´m not 100% sure if it is him.

Umm H a n a..
Check page 2 of this discussion..
A group have privately released the drama subbed to their own raws..
Somebody has been nice enough to provide mkv files and the softsubs, but the softsubs (when used on our raws) tend to be 1-3 secs out half the time..

@MisS Lonliah : As far as I know, Takumi Ito was also a member of Johnny´s . Here is an old picture. The only one of the others I know on this is Shintaro Morimoto, who was in the movie version of "Battery". Somwhere on my hard-disk is another picture, where Takumi is posing in a hunterpose alongside with Shintaros brother Ryutaro (of Hey Say Jump) where he looks like a LOT like a younger version of Sawatari, but I´m unable to locate it at the moment.

But it seems I was wrong:

@marienella_m: Thank you very much for this information. Do you know something more about him? I´ve never heard of his name before.

And to express my thanks in a more valueable way than just to post an oversizd picture of lesser-known japanese actors:
Here is a softsub in ".srt" for Episode 4 of "Scrap Teacher", just in case you don´t have it already. The timing should be alright, I hope. I have to state, that this wasn´t created by myself, I just found it on the web.

a quick search showed that Takahata Misaki is currently in one of the Johnny's Jr. units called BI shadow, his previous group was called Fresh Jr.
Birthdate: 7 August 1993
Hometown: Kanagawa
Blood Type: : A
Height: 163 cm
Weight: 45 kg
he sang Mayonaka no Shadow Boy with his group in the latest Shounen Club ep. youtube

and thanks for the subs :-)

gokigen yo, minna.. ^^ can I ask something? why don't you like softsub? isn't it better because we have the raw version (and we can screencaps as many as we want without subs in the screen XD) but we can still enjoy the sub? 8D hehehe..

@satsukidesu
Hi .. many people don't like softsubs because the raws files are always bigger in size than the hardsubs..
also the hardsubs are fixed and always accurate, but softsubs sometimes have timing/font/format problems.
finally it's preferred by people who are interested in burning dramas on DVDs as I guess..
But sure you can have much better screencaps with the raw versions =)

Also Hey! (Say!...ahem.^^)
This site was already mentioned on the first page of this thread. But you´re right: This livejournal is the best and fastest resource for english subs of "Scrap Teacher". There is also a thread in the "Subtitles forum" of this site (d-addicts) here, where you can download all softsubs from ep.01 to 05 in .srt (But I have to say, that the softsubs of the livejournal-site you just posted are working better for me).

yes it's german
I was surpised to hear my own language in a JDorama :D
but...it was really horrible, dind't understand a single word, I only understood Claudia
the only thing what I understood from the boys was the last word "wiederlich"

I hope one of the germans among us can understand it and can write it down for us other germans to understand what they really said
I would be really grateful if someone is able to do this

haha yes xD
I thought: "How can she say "perfekte Aussprache" (perfect pronounciation) when I didn't understand anything?"
Maybe she didn't understand a single word, too but she had to say it because it was her role
but I think when they use an other language they should make it that people who speaks this language can understand it

and btw....Claudia sounds like she speaks with a dialect...maybe she isn't really a german? maybe she is a foreigner but is able to speak german very good
but who knows ^^;

The actress of "Claudia" wasn´t German for sure. She sounded very much like being from Poland or Russia. The "German speaking part" was sure a lot of fun, but the only one who was understandable at all was Yuri Chinen. His pronouncitation was really very good. Daiki and Yamada failed totally. (But no blame...think of a German, who don´t know Japanese at all and has to speak that language...he would fail also.)
I just wonder who was the translator....They used the term "geklüngelt" for "deceiving"...this term is only used nowadays in a certain part of Germany (Nordrhein-Westfalen...Cologne in particular). Also strange: Yamada replies to "Perfect pronouncitation" with "Gern geschehen!" (= "My pleasure)... a replic you wouldn´t give at all if someone gives you a commendation. Whatever....the makers of "Scrap Teacher" hadn´t viewers from Germany in mind at all for sure ( but why should they?^^)

PS: Where the hell are the english subtitles for Episodes 7 and 8...does someone have them???

i agree with yahiko in opponance to ryuuta. the series is made for japanese viewers who are only supposed to be impressed because for japanese people it is really impressionable when japanese can speak other languages. (as they themselves are going through a lot of hardships with just learning english ^^)

I supposed there was a japanese who had lived in cologne for 2 years who wrote this part! he thought it might be funny to confuse foreign people watching it! ^^

ok so starting after what takasugi said:

Irie: Wir sind schockiert! (literally: We are shocked!)
Yoshida: Es ist unglaublich, dass unser Lehrer sowas machen würde! (It's unbelievable, our teacher would do something like that!)
Takasugi: Als seine Frau, was denken sie wir machen? (As his wife, what think you we do?)

The first part of takasugi yoroshiku!

I´m still looking out for the English subs of Episode 7 -end. This is kind of frustrating.....if someone has it...please post a link...kudasai!!
Some Ebay-Shops are offering already DVDs containig subtitles, but they´re somewhat....welll...they advertise their DVDs by "starring Yuki Chinen and Yujo Nakamija"....that doesn´t sound very much as a decent release, did it?
*sigh*

I would just like to express my absolute amusement at the Gokusen reference near the end of episode 2. I was watching it at work, and laughed rather loudly in my very quiet bookstore... heh heh...

I can't find the softsubs all hardsub-ed versions in full online. Can anyone guide me where to find? Thanks.

I know it's a very late reply, but you can check king-kun & jump_infs @livejournal to download the hardsubs versions..
@lwq: as far as I know, softsubs are hard to find for this drama!

Cool drama, unusual performance. I would like more books to come out. For example, I recently read In Praise of Margins, I used https://phdessay.com/in-praise-of-margins/ for this. After reading it, I would like to see the film. And that would have removed it exactly like in the book. I don’t understand why now they are filming what they only think about ?!
