To be honest, I didn't like Dear Friends & only watched it because Keiko looked gorgeous (as always) ^__^

I hate how Japanese directors (ro whoever is responsible for that) always let actors who have co-starred before star again in another shoiw together =.= I don't get the reason.

So is there any news about Keiko-chan? IS she graduating any time soon? WHat is she studying?

I admire her for keeping up with the media and studying..I can hardly keep up with the latter

Keiko-chan is my age & I feel like she's my sister or one of my friends

Hopefully she will graduate next year. She is majoring in Commercial Science/Business Management.

I plucked that picture out of the online Meiji university 2008 brochure that is to entice new students to come study at Meiji. (Use the Smartパンフ link down-right on the Meiji university site then move to page 9.) Keiko praises the study atmosphere and tells of her future goal to use her new knowledge to produce a movie herself. (More likely her backup plan for if her acting career fails than her first goal.)

I used to read yours translations but when former Keiko's blog was down i couldn't access your site anymore. And now when i clicked in "index" button in the end of this page (http://keiko.upwind.org/star-studio/200 ... 22-50.html) i received a "under construction" message.
But now that i know it of course your site is the number one for read Keiko's blog translations. I like them a lot and read them from keiko.upwind.org is easier than read from IKK forum. It's not a subsidiary of IKK! I just didn't know how access the main page. ^^
Maybe ask the people of IKK to put the main link of "keiko.upwind.org" to read yours translations and not the direct link to the posts. So everyone will know about this and will appreciate the whole site. And it has a really great content!!

Oops, the one who misunderstood was me. (I thought you meant the rest of the blog.) I can only translate text. My vocabulary is so limited that I can't understand speech yet.

I concentrated on grammar first, because that's what I needed to translate Keiko's words. (She's got a university level mind, is well read, and writes sentences long and complex enough to make Germans dizzy.)

Don't worry about the "Under construction" message. Unlike any other site where you see that message, it will go away. Eventually the new blog will be the same as the BlogBlogBlog section, but not as pretty, because the translation will simply refer to Keiko's blog for the pictures. (I don't want to steal visitors from her site.) All I need is a little time to set it all up, so I'm probably the only Keiko fan who hopes she will not post for a while.

Keiko Kitagawa gets female lead in "Manatsu no Orion (Midsummer's Orion)"
Wed, August 13, 2008 (1:42am EDT)
Actress Keiko Kitagawa has been tapped to play the female lead in Tetsuo Shinohara's new film, "Manatsu no Orion." Last month, it was revealed that Hiroshi Tamaki would star in the picture; Kitagawa will play a double role as Tamaki's love interest and the couple's present-day granddaughter.

The story is set during World War II and focuses on a naval battle between an American destroyer and a Japanese submarine, captained by a man named Kuramoto (Tamaki). Before heading off to battle, Shizuko (Kitagawa) gives him a present: the score of a song called "Manatsu no Orion." 64 years later, the pair's granddaughter happens to come across that precious score.

Kitagawa is currently involved in filming for the movie, while also shooting for the "Taiyou to Umi no Kyoushitsu" drama series on Fuji TV. "Manatsu no Orion" will open in theaters sometime in 2009.
