The synopsis makes it sound a lot like Fireboys. I wonder about a common source for both shows.

In their livejournal, LoveSong announced that they will be subbing this series. This show isn't my type but it does seem interesting.

Check the Fansubbing Map for Japanese Dorama Winter 2009^^ (or for every dorama of which you don#t know if it will be subbed)

A group called Rescue Rangers, it seems to be a team from different groups which was formed especially for RESCUE.

Yes, I was also thinking this when I read it... I was like, they did a remake of it already? Then I went back and took a closer look into the Fire Boys page and saw that the character names were different...

But I did find it interesting to note that in Fire Boys, the main guys name was Daigo, while Daichi is the main guys name in Rescue :P Dai-chan! XD Sorry, I couldn't resist. I make my own fun.

Either way, I'm usually a sucker for these types of dramas, so I can't wait for it to come out :)

First Ep out

It was a 2 hours special but it didn't make it hard or heavy to watch, it was quite curious to see many of the guys in roles so different from themselves ^^

Liked it and will keep watching

I really hope, there will be another version of the file.

BTW, Rescue ep 01 will be repeated today on Japanese TV starting from 14pm (Japanese time).
maybe someone will capture it again and upload a file in better quality.

Episode 2 is kepping the interest highg :) and i think the third ep will be as interesting to watch as the two previous ones :D

The actors are getting more comfortable within their characters skins ;)

And the rating went from 12.2 to 12.8 so happy for them!!!

I just started watching this and it's definitely better than I expected. Especially the scenes with fire, there should be more! Errm, I sound like a pyromaniac. :D
The story is good so far (only watched the first two episodes), I just wish they wouldn't shout that much.

There's something about Japanese dramas that really drives me nuts. Don't they hire technical advisers? This is like television in the US in the 50s. I'll bet the real Japanese firemen, rescue teams, and EMTs get a big laugh out of watching something like this. It really spoils the drama when absolutely nothing in either the training or actual emergency situations looks realistic at all. The other side of this is that the acting performances are uniformly good from all parties and there are some excellent moments, dramatically, but I just can't buy it because it falls so badly on it's face, technically. There have been some medical and police dramas that have been very good but they stay away from the details or at least take the trouble to make it believable. There have been enough to show they can do it if they want to. This story idea had some real potential, but, for me, if they are going to show the details, and make them pivotal to the story, they should have taken the trouble to get them right.

Am I the only one who think that this drama butchered the first movie of Umizaru? Especially the first half of the drama when the guys are still in training? I rewatched the Umizaru movie with a friend the other day and can't help but notice how similar those two are, even the dialog and some of the scenes...freaky huh?

Anyway, usually I like this type of drama but Rescue is just blah...I don't know if it's the acting or the fake scenarios. Or maybe because Nakamaru, Matsuda, and Yusuke are just too young/fragile to be rescuers.
