You know what they say: the beautiful is beautiful even clad in bag for potatoes, keke...
:lol :lol :lol very true. as my old friend kept saying about her favourite actor and i repeat it here with JGS,
I still will like him if he shave his head and paint his face blue (well, maybe not to that extent :lol )

I don't get it, he looks good with that.
You know, my all time favorite Korean actor (even in my top 10 of all time in the whole world) is Jeong Jae Young, and in his next movie (in this year, I'm sitting on the hot stones!!) he shaved his head, but I'm still in love!
No matter with the haircut, the main point is that - he's great, talented, and (do not cover) very handsome, so...
As for the bangs:

Yeeaa, and what about that "oh so famous" ring, keke?
But anyway, he looks good with every haircut. OK, lets face it, I lost my objectivity. I simply take everything, even, as you mentioned. He had a very short hair in Happy Time and BV. And looked great!
And the voice, first, I put my attention to his caramel, deep voice. Yep, that's me, few years older, hope my student won't come here, keke....

PS. If a guy can wear so much make up and be such hilarious, simply chapeaux bas!

OH, that "famous" ring had pages and pages of discussion on both JGS and PSH threads on soompi. it's so funny to read all these analysis (sometimes very detailed too :lol ) and it does make think if there is something behind it. :P

since i got to know JGS, i have been troubled by the thought of army time that every korean man has to spend. i did not know about this and now i am wondering when he is going to serve this time? i was googling the age and i kept reading between 20-23 (does not seem to be right) and from 18-35. whenever it is, two years and two months out of touch is just too much to bear
trying ti distract myself from these thoughts by adding another gorgeous picture and drooling over it :P

They have to be enrolled to army before they turn 30. Period varies from 12 months , 18 months to two years ( Gong Yoo, ie went to army January 2008, and got back last December, so...). In some cases the duty can be shifted to soemthing else (civil serice), but I don't think it applies to actors (rather students of good studies like engineering, robotics, etc, and the sole beneficent of the family).
Yes, brace ourselves for that time to come

Most likely they do it in the year they turn 30 (or 29), like Kim Rae Won, Gong Yoo, Jo In Sung and Joo Ji Hoon. So he has time for two dramas and three movies, I guess

No, I'd rather see him in fewer but better ones.
But I'm also greedy, though concerned about his health. Would be good for him to gain some weight.

And they were talking about the other, black ring during Melon Awards, he gave it to PSH during the time she was hosting with him, keke.
But seriously, I don't think there is really something going on between them.

i think he has gained some weight after YAB and you can see it from his SBS award pictures. his face is more round than it was in YAB and his body is fuller. good for you baby JGS, please eat some more. :P
i think JGS has special talent to see and recognise good dramas. him rejecting BOF is the prove. i am so thankful for him to do so because there is no way i would get to know him if he did. i was too much into jdramas back then and since HYD/Matsujun are my favourites, i never would think of watching it and he won't be in YAB. so everything worked perfectly for him.

as for that famous ring, at first i thought something was going on between them when i saw that behind scenes of bed scene. they were so comfortable with each other and had such a chemistry. but watching all behind scene footage and seen both of them together, i don't think so anymore. they're just very good friends.
have to admit, i really like them as a couple though. they seem perfect for eachother but then again, i am letting my thoughts/emotions about TK x MN getting involved too so i can be biased. :P

I had an account there for 4 years, and when I tried to log in, I had to create a brand new account. Perhaps it was my fault, maybe I was absent too long?

If anyone is interested in YAB topic I posted link to watch a CN Blue premiere (Jung Yong Hwa band), every ANJELL made the appearance.
And link to their album as well (JYH topic).
Nice shots watashiwachiaki
I'm monitoring the internet, if something nice come up, you will have it immediately.
And no, there is nothing more than a friendship.
Peace! :salut:

PS. As I mentioned in Entertainment weekly 1303 and 1288 there are interviews with JGS. He's a one naughty boy! As in Champagne.

And what I found:
Old news, old, but still lingering:
Jang Geun-Suk had told his feelings as the drama You’re Beautiful (a.k.a. You’re Handsome) had ended.

Jang Geun-Suk said, “I was happy living as “Hwang Tae-Kyung” so I will have hard time letting go of character “Hwang Tae-Kyung”. In most of my previous dramas, my roles were always someone who was older than I am or someone very conservative. However, in You’re Beautiful, I was able to play a character in my age and was able to reveal 23-years-old Jang Geun-Suk’s beautiful, out-going, and cute expressions. Similar to perfectionist Hwang Tae-Kyung, I also cannot do anything with half-effort. It is not that I want to hear “you’re the best” comments from people. If I am not satisfied with myself then I do not think I can show the truth to audience. Regardless of making it or not making, I tend to try my best until I satisfy.”

Jang Geun-Suk continued, “Now that the drama is over, I feel that I should’ve done better. However, I put all my energy into it and tried my best so I have no regrets even though there are some parts that I could’ve done better. While I was filming You’re Beautiful, I felt I was really being loved. I would like to thank all of you who had supported the drama and me. If You’re Beautiful Season 2 gets made, I surely want to be part of it.”

But seriously, are we gonna live up to the hope??
I won't.

i said it before, i am happy with how everything ended. sometimes we need to know that less is more. i don't see a reason for making S2. i think fans should just let it go. i still see so many petitions going for it though but i don't see the point. hong sisters already said that they are NOT going to make it.
i totally understand what JGS means by doing 100% work. i am kind of perfectionist like him. if i am only satisified with my 95%, i won't even consider presenting it. it has to be perfect or none. believe me, it's not easy to live with this personality. you keep going until you are drained of your last energy drop.
there is no way that TK character could be portrayed any better than this. baby JGS, i give you 100% too. and with two hands :thumleft: :thumright:

As I stated on soompi (reading some helpless hope on season 2), everythings seems closed, I have no idea why some people just can't let go. What if tv station changes their opinion and would ask for another cast? What if..., there's a lot of "what ifs". I'm satisfied with the whole 16 episodes, don't need season 2. Although Special would be nice^^

i keep on reading that JGS loves to do momo character in korean version of KWP. being totally in love with japanese version and matsujun as momo, before knowing JGS i thought that it would never match the original version.
but now knowing JGS and his acting skills (and cuteness)nd his interest in this complex character, i really wish that he can get this role. even though another actor being named. but my big disappointment is why they want to make a movie and not a full length (16-20) eps drama? i really want to see him in long eps drama

I'm not familiar with that drama at all. But knowing his talent, he can pull off everything smoothly. Even if he was supposed to play a phone book, it would be the best portrayed phone book ever!

:lol :lol :lol so ture.
when it comes to KWP, i am not so sure about recommanding it to others. because you can often see it mentioned in the best and the worst jdrama thread repeatedly. so far, me, my sisters, my friends who seen it, fell in love with it.
it's one of the best drama because it has unique storyline, great acting and cute eye candy momo. the reason why sometimes is mentioned in worst jdrama is because of its weird story. i did not read any reasons to do with characters....
you either accept it and enjoy the story or reject the idea from the begining and give it up. me persoanly, i LOVE it. i don't think anyone has watched this drama as much i have.

the story is about an educated career woman who gives up on idea of having boyfriend (simply because she was cheated on by her previous bf because he felt lower than her in most aspects of life, therefore goes with the most ordinary girl to make him feel superior) and try to live with her newly adopted pet momo.
momo is a professional dancer that has fled his house and parents and wants to get into more professional dance school outside japan and until then he needs a place to stay. so after being rescued by sumire-chan (our heroin of the story) he begs to stay with her for few months. but sumire-chan accept his request if only he'll be her pet with no human rights. she will feed him, takes him to bath and take care of him but nothing more.

i just can see JGS fit this character so well. as i said, it's a complex character. there is no one as cute as momo but at the same time he does have dark/mysterious past behind him and outside sumire-chan, he is a completely different person. if JGS gets this role, it would be a dream came true for me.

Is this a comedy? I'm a little biased towards the word "pet". But on the psychological level it sounds interesting.

Oh, I showed today ANJELL first concert to my yeodongseng, and she was like: "what the... they are really good, and soo beautiful!" Good girl. And I fed her with sugar cube, kekeke

have to say though, don't like it when he smooks. he can do it in his private times but not to do a photoshot while smooking.

did you read about JGS being chosen as ambassador for Seoul to represent Korea? he will be promoting his country by going to different asian countries.
this is different from going on asian tour to promote YAB.
one thing i know, there is not much Korean awarness going on here in London and we need some serious work by Mr Ambassador :P
somehow i feel abit sad with all these promotional touring. is going to take him out of showbiz screens for a while and we are going to miss him terribly :-(

gosh, he is getting prettier by second. faint, fait, faint :pale:

Yes, I know, I know, and I think Europe needs serious amount of knowledge available through "oh so irresistible" ambassador Sukkie^^. The pics are so faint-causing.
And still, I think JGS was the most attractive in Beethoven Virus. He twisted me inside when I first heard him, really.

Update:
Image

Lucky those Asians, two months with Sukkie on the road, please, somebody make him come to Europe for the fanmeeting like this. And I can't believe YAB is aired in 17 countries?? Is says 'exported', but isn't this the same?
Eh... hoping for some nice pics...

Again me, but in case somebody is interested in Case of Itaewon Homicide (이대원살인사건: Itaewon sarin sageon) and want to own a DVD it is out (like yesterday or before yesterday):
YesAsia
DVD region 3

Image
"YesAsia Editorial Description
College student Jong Pil Jo (Song Jong Ki) is found dead in the bathroom of a fast food restaurant in Itaewon. Two Korean-American youth, Pearson (Jang Geun Suk) and Alex (Shin Seung Hwan), were seen arguing with Jong prior to his murder, and entering the bathroom after him. It's up to the prosecution led by Park (Jung Jin Young) to determine who the real killer is, but the investigation is thrown into confusion when the two suspects present contradicting accounts and evidence, and blame each other for the crime.

Directed by Hong Ki Sun, The Case of Itaewon Homicide is based on a true 1997 murder case that incited great controversy in Korea because the suspected killers, a Korean-American and an American soldier's son, were both foreigners and both eventually freed. Popular young actor Jang Geun Suk and Jung Jin Young, who played bandmates in 2007's The Happy Life, stand on opposite sides of the legal mind game in this gripping mystery thriller and crime procedural.

This edition comes with making of, music video, previews, and other extras. "

even though i was very impressed with JGS (as usual :P ) in this movie for his English and i always love his acting, i think i'll pass on this one :| . it's so hard for me to accept my cute baby JGS as cold blooded mudurer. his stare were scary indeed. brought shivers to my spines. but he is very convincing as an evil person.

Actually after watching it in September, I really re-loved him, keke^^
He was nominated for Blue Dragon Award for this one.
I like that kind of role, it suits him, he can have a darkness in his eyes, pure madness (Chang Hui, i.e.).
Let him not sing in his next project, let him mature^^
No offence, I love his voice

Hello all,

may i join you flailing???

I just watch YAB last week, I finished it in approximately 22 hours, because I just can't stop watching >___< *and yes, I purposely postponed my life that day*

I love hyungnim! so I searched for other JGS' work, and I watched baby and me. I was so suprised to see how chubby and baby faced he was there!!! :blink I mean, REALLY, he's like a whole different person there! Then I watch doremifasolatido, though I saw a bit of hyungnim and (who's the character in baby and me again?) there, I can't help but feel like it's another different person all over again.

This guy really amazed me! He's really good in acting!

Now, mind you, I'm really a noobs in Korean fandom. Can you please tell me where I could download videos of JGS (I know he's been to lots of variety shows)? One with direct download would be preferable, since during day time I could not use torrent. I found some vids on youtube, but I'd prefer to download it so that I could watch it over and over again XD

thank you~~

oh, i'm currently watching beethoven virus and loving it. Can you guys recommend me something of his work to watch? I'm not really into....what you call jidaigeki in Jdrama (you know, one that was set during the monarch era with the traditional costumes and stuff?) but I had a lot of people recommending hong gil dong and Hwang Jin Yi. Anybody could affirm me on this? which should I start with from the two?

and once again, thank you~~~

Keke, you will get more than you can handle from us.
Hong Gil Dong is great (don't mind ppl's complaining, they just being fussy), Hwang Jin Yi (up to 9th episode, after that no more Sukkie^^) The period drama is called in Korean Sageuk. But HGD is rather a fusion sageuk, more like Chuno now.

Movies:
The Case of Itaewon Homicide
Happy Time
Doremifasollatido
The Longest 24 Months

Don't watch Last call, Sukkie is fine, but movie is terrible, really bad.
You can find some stuff on Clubbox, if you can read Korean, but some of his old appearance are gone. Eh. I'm downloading what they have, keke, and I will redistribute them (with credits), but it takes time, my Clubbox connection is so damn slow.
And join us, join^^

Issy, last time I checked (3am) no news on his new project.

oh Ethlenn thank you! That's okay, I learn in the fandom that it'll never be enough. So the more is the better xD

I've watched doremifasolatido, and loved it

I forgot to tell you, I also avoid...horror movie. I was about to watch one missed call coz a friend said it's not too horror, but I guess I'll just skip it now. But what about the homicide movie? is that horror, or action??

I could deal with clubbox (tho usually videos in clubboxes are not subbed, no??) Can you give me links of clubboxes that have his vids???

Helloooo dear and welcome :lol
well, i have been just recently into k-entertainment world but all thanks to my baby JGS foropening the door for me. but so far, i only have eyes for him and i think is going to be like that for a while because i have never been amazed by a person like from all aspects like i am now with him.
and :lol YES. you might get more than you can handle from us when it comes to him.
but SO true in saying that he is like whole different person (character wise and the look) in each ones of his characters. that's what attracts me to him.

@non-angelical:
In Clubbox
just type Jang Geun Seok (in hangeul), or SBS Popular Songs (in English), or Inkigayo (in Korean ), and hit the box: search by keyword.
And Last Call it is supposed to be a horror movie, but it is so unbearably stupid, just let it pass, please^^

@Issy, dear, apart from news I posted on previous page about his schedule for fan touring (for two months), I didn't come across anything. But... Today starts mu University break ( I won't prepare any exams to my poor students, instead focus on Korean and fishing some news^^ plenty of time...)

But don't worry, I'm really close to upload some goodies, and I will give you all the links. Some are as old as 2005^^

Take care, have to prepare for last classes this semester and Chuno Episode 7

@Ethlenn

looking forward for all those sukki goodies  and thanks for picture spam. pretty pretty boy.
i am on chuno ep2, don't want to rush it because if get hooked and there is no more raw or subbed eps, i will get frustrated. like what i went through with YAB. :goggle: i watched 10 eps in one day and realised that it is a new drama that is being aired at the same time  it was hell of the time to wait for wednesdays and thursday and checking soompi every minute to see its out or not :goggle:
the emotions that baby JGS puts us through.

I know what you mean, I was checking clubbox every minute, and when an hour passed from airing and there still was no episode, I started to have convulsions :roll

Finally, back from work, I'm free for the time being (not including Korean conversation twice a week, but I can deal with that somehow, muahaha) I will have lots of time to upload it somewhere.
And I will make some wallpapers at last.
Still, busy schedule ahead, eh...

Today's news on Sukkie in Chosun Ilbo:
Image
Chosun
And his page on Chosun:
JGS

I will translate when I have the time (at least a synopsis), but the first sentence is great (well, the beginning, the sentence is 3 lines long): JGS who portrayed COLD "minam"(beautiful boy) in SBS' drama Minami shineyo...
It sounds good^^

I started to watch Kimi wa petto (too bad with annoying English subtitles), and you know what? JGS would suit perfectly as Momo, keke^^ I'm waiting for the rest to watch. But I will maintain my opinion, that in general, Korean language conveys more emotions than Japanese, and actors are slightly better (generalization).
Still, it is strange to me to hear Japanese instead of Korean( I translate some sentences, well, it is my professional fetish^^).

Thanks for the word, dear

here were i am queit apposite. Nihongo is like music to my ears. and because i was self teaching myself (still am if my job anf other distractions  allow me) japanese, i have to say i am in love with it. somehow Korean sounds very heavy and rough comparing to nihongo for me. but i am starting to get used to it and all thanks to beautiful voice of special someone.
I love KWP drama. i think matsujun did a great job as momo. that's why i could not see someone else as momo and could not even imagine it. until i got to know JGS. now, all i think about it is what if he does get the role. this is just perfect for him. but i think matsujun was younger (around 20) at that time. but still, it does not matter.
such concidence because me and my friend are re-waching KWP too. :P

You know, when I studied Japanese, I thought there is no more beautiful language than this. But with time my enthusiasm faded, and then I came across Korean. I fell in love immediately with the sound, rhythm, abundance of vowels^^. Now all I can think of is in Korean. Still Japanese is my fieldwork, I work using it (I teach), and my resources are in Japanese. But the number of Korean ones is growing

And watching Kimi wa petto, I imagined, as I said, sentenced in Korean, and JGS playing Momo. So as you can see, I changed sides of Taehan haehyeop (대한해협/対馬海峡/Korea Strait/Tsushima Kaikyou) completely.
Did you self learned Japanese? Up to what level? I'm impressed^^

i have to admit that i have been quiet lazy wit my japanese studies recently. i used to work much harder on it. now that we are talking about it, giving me some encouragement to go back and start again.
i really can't say what level but i think i am intermediate. of course reading and writing is the most difficult part specially when you teaching yourself and i have not progressed much but i find myself better in understanding conversations because of hours i spend watching/hearing japanese dramas/music. in general, i have always liked languages and if i have a reason to love somehing relating to any particular language  i'll show more and more interest in it. like i never thought i will be watching kdramas and listen to ksongs as my friends and family can testify for it. they still get super shocked when i talk about a korean culture/song/drama :P well, i guess we should never say never 8)
i can't believe the effect JGS had on me by just watching 2eps of YAB. like being bewitched instantly.

Yes, it's never too late for many things, but sometimes... well, my pessimistic side is speaking.
Sorry for being late with many things, but today I watched all day Kimi ga petto, and besides, jeoneun chom bappayo (I'm a little busy^^).

@Issy, hon, is there any more jdramas like this one? Short, well written(maybe without so much moral lessons^_-) and funny in a different way?

@Issy, hon, is there any more jdramas like this one? Short, well written(maybe without so much moral lessons^_-) and funny in a different way?
so i take it as you loved KWP then. i am SO happy. so far who ever i recommanded it to or people i know who have seen it, they like it. i agree that whole story is weird but this is fiction and not real life so everything is possible. i really did not understand why some were complaining. just imagine if JGS gets to be momo? oh my god, i think it would gain him even more popularity than YAB knowing how good he can be. of course i see no wrong in matsujun's momo but i want to see JGS's momo too. but somehow i think that is all wishful thinking and is too good to be true. but you never know.
ok, you just got me by suprised and now my brains is empty for what to recommand that it would be as fun as KWP. :lol
these are the ones that i remember right now and maybe i remember more later on.

Tiger & Dragon and My Boss My Hero a must see because they are soo good and damn funny and Tomoya Nagase is SOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOT(and he used to be my previous obsession since 2007)
and can i add Hana Yori Dango because i just love it and because Jun used to be my previous obsession just before Tomoya :P
gosh, i have so many obsessions and i love them ALL.

Oh my, I don't take any drama seriously. I know, some do, and they are whining everywhere about some problems, annoying everyone.
I liked this drama and I imagined JGS as momo, especially after what you've writen, but now, according to his agency, apart from fanmeeting, he's taking a break, and reading flood of scripts^^
Thanks for the info, although I let
Hana Yori Dango
pass, I couldn't stand the plot, so either version turns me off.
Take care.

OK, there is an interview with dongsaeng from before yesterday (2010-02-01) I uploaded. It is subtitled in Korean (as almost every time in Ktv). On his fanmeetings, and Minamishineyo. Have fun.
BTW. He was called a "national phenomenon". Nice one, Sukkie^^
