Sungkyunkwan Scandal (KBS2 , 2010)
Mister Wig'n'Abs? Hmmm. Sorry. Doesn't float my boat. Actually, none of them do, but browsing the shelves is not bad, even if you don't like anything or plan to buy it. You still get educated.
Hmm, fangirls should use that metaphor since they view these men like products anyway. I bet SKKS has it's share of "oppaaa" girls with so many young and hot (according to not me) men.

The SKK-Scandal is based on the novel. To read the translated version click here:Silverman wrote:Does anyone have a clue, if SScandal is based on the old chinese movie(or the legend) "The Love Eterne", since it has very similar elements, even though the movie is more tragic?
It's not the whole novel, but it's better than nothing and the novel is more risque than the drama itself.
Plus, as far as I know the legend about The Butterflies Lovers, they died, and they are compared to Romeo and Juliet, anyway.
The motif of forbidden love? Don't let me start on this one, in my circle of acquaintances, we call that "archetype".
It doesn't mean Shakespear borrowed anything from Chinese (I doubt he had any idea about the Empire back then), or Chinese borrowed anything from ancient Greeks. Archetypes, people.

Yes i know, that in many cultures there are similar tales, legends aso., without the authors knowing from eachtother.
But in "The Love Eterne" the female lead (yea i know almost all maleroles are played by females in this film), enters the school and pretends to be a man, then she befriends a fellow student, who shares the same room with her for 3 years and doesn't notice, that she is female. She falls in love with him and he kind of developes feelings for her (even though he thinks that she is male) and they become swornbrothers. She goes back to her family and he realizes the emptyness without her. To this point(imo), is the mainplot is too similar as to say its a mere coincidence. Because of this, i had the impression, that the movie( or the legend), are related to this drama. Well if they have absolutly nothing to do with each other, then its fine, because it was just a question and not a statement^^.

Well, I can't rule out the influence, perhaps author saw the movie and incorporated the plot into the story?
But in Joseon, this type of behavior wasn't unknown. We have historical documents stating that some girls were sneaking into libraries or confucian schools to learn. Plus, Painter of The Wind drama, is partially based on true events (dramatized, of kors).

Song Joongki and Park Boyoung are confirmed to be the male and female lead for upcoming movie "Wolf Boy." On the 11th of September, it was reported that the director finalized the initial casting and selected Song Joongki for the lead role and he will be joined by Park Boyoung, who will play his love interest.
Park Boyoung is set to play the role of a young girl who discovers a secluded house and eventually falls in love with Song Joongki's character who is a teen wolf.
"Wolf Boy" will be a feature film from director Jo Sunghee, who is known for his remarkable short films in the past years. Jo Sunghee describes the movie as a pure love story between the two main characters.
This will not be the first time that that Joongki and Boyoung will be collaborating for a project as they previously used their voices for the Korean version of "Rio."
Park Boyoung's fans are reported to be delighted with the news as the actress returns to the industry with another project in hand after being involved in a dispute with her former management. Meanwhile, Song Joongki adds this project to his other commitments set to be released this fall. He is set to start promotions for his romantic comedy with Han Yesul for the "Penny Pinching Romance" and will be featured as the young Kim Sejong The Great for the SBS Drama "Deep-Rooted Tree."
According to reports, the production team will complete casting and start production by October for "Wolf Boy."(koreaboo)
YES, another rare kdrama-genre (fantasy-romcom, there 5, which i know of. Revenge of Gumiho and Gumiho wit Kim Tae Hee don't count, because they are fantasy/romance/action/melo). Although im a little sceptic about the werewolf-thing. I love werewolfes, vampires and dragons. But since Twilight I'm very careful about this. I just hope that it will not be a korean Twilight.
Yeah, a bit uneasy about that too.
Looks like we missed something, ladies and gents here. QTV broadcasted on Saturday '성균관 스캔들: 더 무비' (SKKS The Movie), 2-hour long feature. I went into frenzy one hour ago trying to seize that but no recordings as for now. I will keep my eyes on it.

OMG...emo sageuk wolf?? Damn no, that's too much. I'd rather have him sparkleEthlenn wrote:I bet certain Diva would have a word on that matter, ekhem...Viande wrote:At least wolves just CANNOT sparkle in any way.
Maybe it will be emo wolf? Like you know, wandering around, crying while seeing moon reflection in a pond... Or make it a sageuk wolf.
But then I'm sure he'll just be the cutest wannabe wolf ever =) Though I really can't imagine him all hairy and rough...

Actor Song Joon Ki’s pictures, which was taken when he was little, were recently released.
On the 19th, SBS’s Midnight Entertainment TV interviewed Song, who was praised for his performance in the series A Deep Rooted Tree.
Song also released his pictures. He said, “Since my parents had a son before me, I mean my brother, they wanted to have a girl. So when I was born my mother raised me like a girl.”
In one of the pictures that he showed, little Song is wearing a skirt with a pink hairband.
Song added, “All the other boys in my neighborhood rode a two wheeler but I rode a three wheeler. I also had many dolls.”
Song made people laugh by saying, “I envy Ok Taec Yeon’s body because I don’t have any abs.”
