You might want to note that Glass Mask isn't a bi-weekly show, it's a daily. well really it runs M-Th, and is scheduled for 100+ episodes at this point.

To add there are some dailies coming up shortly so it might be worth mentioning them and to see if someone wants to pick them up as I'm not "officially" doing them but would greatly appreciate someone else picking up one or more of these shows at some point.

That's a nice list. Problem is - I usually upload random episodes when someone relatively known to people around is a guest, because I don't want to waste my time looking for and uploading shows no one cares about.

The other thing is - most of these shows are available on private sites, and of course I can't post them here unless they appear on public sites, I don't want to be kicked out, since lots of K-sites went out of business lately.

Also, most of those on the list never get subbed, so I don't think it's in our own interest to upload such shows.

@Ethlenn: If you want the music shows back you can always have them. It's not like I don't have a full plate already. As for the variety shows could could always take a vote on what shows people most want to see uploaded.

EDIT: If I wasn't clear about the list I posted I simply meant those are the shows I post on a weekly basis. I know there are a lot of other shows (news, documentary, cooking shows, etc.) that could be posted but from my experience even the myriad of shows I post currently see very little attention as it seems they (the people who download the shows) require access to subtitles and as you pointed out very few of these types of shows are subtitled (in part or whole).

May I make a suggestion to upload smaller files but good picture quality?

I loved HanSun's quality but too bad they are gone. Their encodes was one of the best. I hope the Kdrama team would upload files that are mp4 types. Avi files are quite outdated and the files are way too big.

Ernie, WITH and mTHD are just some suggestions of good quality.

I hope you would forget about uploading xvid files as they are too big and very poor in picture quality.

I'm sure whatever you decide WithS2 will follow in their subbing.

hiya \( -o _ o- )/, as posted in the shoutbox. i plan to upload some of my encodes. i encode from 1080i broadcast files and encode to 960x540p res. i already share my stuff with another site. but when i get back from my vacay, (4-6 weeks from now) i'll start uploading them here to see activity. if popular i can continue with them... average filesize is around 500-700 megs. always smaller than a 450p and often smaller than xvid. quality also, much better than anything out there for the general public. only exception is the very private sites that do custom encodes...

anyway, i currently get about 500 downloads now average and so far everyone loves them! so perhaps when i come back, you can check it out for yourself. or try downloading a sample of my work. just pm me for a link....

I can blindly guarantee your quality, so...

I noticed all latest Baros releases are 450p for daily dramas and they use it as standard release now.
Personally I love Ernie now (when Hansun is out of business, they had good encodings), and WITH is right behind it.

anyway, for fun i encoded faith e24 in 800x450p and compressed it ridiculously just to prove a point that it's not filesize but quality of the bits. i made it about 264megs in size and what i feel is equal in quality to hanrel, kor, baros etc... yes the full episode!

of course if i were to do it properly my filesize i think is best would be around 350-450megs depending on complexity of the drama for a 450p.

Thanks for your sample. I think the encoders of those still using avi rather than mp4 is just catering to old DVD players that play avi format? Not sure about that as I don't have the player.

My request to the Kdrama team is simply to share with the general public some good picture quality but at the same time smaller files. If you can provide that, then the kudos will go to you as someone willing to share. (Good quality plus small files)

The private sites that are not willing to share are really not worth mentioning at all as they are closed to the idea of sharing. D-A is all about sharing and I like it.

If you are willing to be an uploader here at D-A then be prepared to put some info to your uploads. Let me know if you have any difficulty with the posters and info. I'm willing to help you out with it.
