[Discussion] Amachan
New asadora (morning drama) that starts on 2013/4/1, Amachan is a very interesting drama. The main actress is 19 years old cute girl, Nounen Rena. I love this series. No one else?

I hope someone is able to download these and post them here as torrent. I have been going through withdrawals. Watched the first three weeks, but haven't been able to continue since most of the Chinese torrent sites went offline. It's a wonderful asadora.xploring wrote:Chinese Hardsub is here in case anyone else is looking for it.

I just discovered that avant genius Otomo Yoshihide (best known as a turntablist) has created an Amachan soundtrack for NHK.

Sorry, Japanese only.
Apparently, this isn't his first work for a dorama.
It's moments like these when I think, "HOW COOL IS JAPAN?" (Head explodes.)

Seems like the link I put earlier doesn't work anymore, the actual weibo for translating group is this:

Only Chinese Hardsub though. And you need to know Chinese to navigate the download site... You can watch streaming video at the links after "bilibili"
Finish the first 3 weeks of Amachan. Fun, but also serious at times, and more complicated than I expected, particularly with the relationships. I am still not sure what this series is really about, especially in view of spoilers I've read. Nounen Rena is super kawaii, and a good actress too. There are still a lot I am not sure what to make of, so not sure what to say, but watching 15-minutes episodes felt like they were over in a much shorter time, that's always a good sign.
The opening music is really catchy, I bobbed my head along with the music with a smile the first few times I heard it.
is really funny. I have smiled a few times while thinking about the scenes even when I was not watching. ^^

Definitely not Kansai-ben but lot of characters speak in a different dialect... though I can still understand somehow and enjoy the show even with my limited Japanese. xD
I don't mind watching the episodes through streaming sites everyday. It'd be awesome if someone can upload it here and provide English subs though.

Week 4 totally won me over. I ended up with a big happy grin as I finished watching it. This series is probably not as complicated than I made it out to be, Haruko (and her past) is the complicated one, Aki is actually a very sweet, adorable, ordinary girl. The end of week 4 is a good place to stop, if I continue watching, the wait every week will probably become agonizing.
I was watching Umechan Sensei right before Amachan. At the end of week 1, I liked Umechan more but now at the end of week 4, I prefer Amachan.

I read that people needed to book to ride the train.earthcolors wrote:
Acc. to reports, Kuji City where the drama is shot received 110,000 visitors (twice the number from previous year) during the recent Golden Week. Such is the power of an NHK asadora.
For those interested, there's a nice thread of Nounen Rena with lot of pics here:

Hm, the story sounds intriguing, since I'm a nature person at heart and it does differ from the usual Tokyo urban setting so it's something for me. But 156 eps of just 15 minutes seems like quite the commitment especially always waiting for a new episode.
I think I'll wait until the series is done before starting.I couldn't stand the waiting.

You're welcome Credits to NGB.
When I'd first heard of amachan, the first thing that came to mind was that amasan segment in tampopo.
Then I found these photos (link) of an amasan who caused quite a sensation in 2009.
Btw, I've edited my first post to include a link to untimed jp subs. Credits to whoever is maintaining that indispensable site.

Thank you for posting this. I've had the first episode in HD for a while but couldn't find the other episodes in 720p. I stopped watching it for a bit since I was waiting for someone to upload it here but this will do. I'm currently in episode 3 and can finally rewatch it in HD! I've find this drama easy to follow so far and my favorite actress plays Yui Adachi.
Just in case you missed it while searching for week 8

Japanese/Chinese subs for this courtesy of madaotw (about half way down)
Click on that button with the downward arrow to download (beside the blue one)
There's another program like this: (20 minutes)

Found at the same place as above
I haven't downloaded it yet, trying to find a compressed version

I thought it was already popular with each episode getting at least 20% of rating views.xaxa wrote:enjoying this show very much. it should be more popular!
Still waiting on week 9 to appear somewhere. Love Ai Hashimoto and the atmosphere of this drama. Also, the soundtrack used in this drama is amazing. I love Aki's theme. Here's someone playing it:
The original soundtrack doesn't come out until the 19th but it'll be worth the wait just to hear that theme and "Family."

does anyone have a torrent file for the posted link? I've been wanting to translate it through reading the srts . I use utorrent, I also don't know how to use magnet links, especially when my hard disk has a low space so every time I download I put them in my external. Those numbers doesn't do well in my laptop
Week 9 is available at this weibo (Chinese version of twitter)
http://weibo.com/tpctpctpc
but I think you need to register to see the links, and they don't want people posting the links elsewhere or uploading to streaming websites.
There's one link that doesn't require understanding Chinese at the download site. Please pm me if interested. And share only privately.
Episode 55 onward can be found here: http://tieba.baidu.com/p/2372471812
mp4 format, file size smaller
Download links then password then click on downward blue arrow button.
The person sharing didn't specify sharing policy, but I guess it's best to be discrete and share privately only.

That would be awesome! If you need, I could help with timing! In fact I already started timing the japanese subs posted here...shi0n wrote:does anyone have a torrent file for the posted link? I'd always wanted to watch Teppan but the lack of Japanese subs scared me a bit... anyone knows if japanese subs exist anywhere? Sorry for the OT.densetsu wrote:Teppan, another good one!
