Anyone here from the Bay Area that's active on here?

Would be interesting to know how many drama lovers there are in the area ^_^

*hands up* Here's another one.

@kazuki: It's a scene from a cartoon, Family Guy. That particular episode was hilarious but would take too long to explain here.

aNToK...I used to fish a lot in the Rio Vista area, I want to go fishing again, but there's not as many fish as there used to be. :x

Ahhh Stockton weather... :lol I've lived in Stockton for most of my life since I was 1 or 2 years old.

But now I'm living in the Bay Area. It's been roughly 6-7 years. 2 years in SF, and 4-5 years in the East Bay (Walnut Creek, Martinez, Pleasant Hill)... In the next 2 weeks, I'll be moving to Concord. :blink

I'm from the 415!!

I'm currently watching FIVE (saw it on TV channel 8!!) MARS and Love Rollercoaster.

My favorite all time ones (as in I never get sick of them) are Virgin Road and My Bright Girl Success.

I started watching The Swtich but at the time I was only able to get the first 10 eppys... I can not wait til I'm done dl all 40.

Wow you can't get away from Mt. Diablo, can you? :lol

And why do I pay one of the highest sales tax in the area at 8.75%? :cussing: Of course this all happened before I moved here, so I don't know where the money should be going to...

Yup your 4% tax is luxurious for us Californians. The state sales tax is 7.25% and the rest is from the local governments.

Gas? The last time I checked, it was $2.50 something for regular unleaded. But there was on station in SF selling gas for $2.80 regular, and $3+ for higher grades.

The mall where 99 Ranch Market is located in there's a bookstore that sells some DVDs and CDs.

Yep. pretty huge for an Asian super out here. vid store to the left in the front? If so, that's the one. (cute counter girl, though I don't think she understood 3 words I said...)

Just watch out for those gallon jugs of Kimchee in the back. Stuff never smells "good", but something back there just smells foul....

Holy moly, I should've realized that the sign I saw for Koreantown wasn't in the City, but in Oakland! :P Next time, next time.... 8)

Yup your 4% tax is luxurious for us Californians. The state sales tax is 7.25% and the rest is from the local governments.

I'm envious of the states that have no sales tax whatsoever. *sigh* Sales tax in Sac is 7.75%... the only good thing about it is that when you want to figure out how much tip to leave, just double the tax. :P And gas prices from the bay is one thing I definitely don't miss. Gas is a few cents cheaper here in Sac, and even if you get gas @ Costco, it's still more than $2.40 a gallon. :glare: It makes driving to the City verrry expensive.

Oh, and for parking in the city, I park in 4 parking garages that are pretty cheap, 2 which were mentioned already... Japantown garage, the garage underneath that pagoda in Chinatown, and if you want to shop around Market St. and that area, I park in the Ellis/O'Farrell garage (accessible from Geary) or the parking garage across from the Metreon.. what was it, Buena Vista center or something like that? I forgot. It's relatively the same price for all four garages. I've never paid more than about $5 for parking before.

I always used the garage at 5th and Mission. I think that's the last one that gelliebean referred to.

Less than 2 blocks away from Central Computers, which always seems to have something I need...

Hi:

Hayward here--Did y'all know that Densha Otoko just started tonight on KTSF? I didn't know they had the money for first run stuff--or that their Sunday lineup wasn't just game/talk shows. Guess I should watch TV more. My Midwestern Brother is buggin' me to move back by him, and can't figure out why I stay here. He has no clue how spoiled you can get by the weather, scenery, and all the stuff people throw into the "lifestyle" box.

I just came back from trip to Cali, I loved the weather in SF, not LA though (since its too hot and traffic's really a nightmare even on 5-lane highways :P). But in Berkeley, weather's also hot, I think only in SF penisula the weather's nice all the time, is that true? I didn't goto other areas outside SF and Berkeley so I dunno. Yeah, Japantown prices are higher, like the DVD store. I got lots of stuff at Chinatown though. I didn't know about the Koreatown but went to some korean restuarants near Berkeley and the food's really good there. Actually, all the restuarants I went in SF and LA were great, except the touristy ones which rip you off. But we had some friends there who showed us which were the good ones.

Relax, it's NOT an ill omen, it's just Camelot symdrome. It does rain once a summer, it's just very late this year. Usually comes with the fire works. Being a little spoiled cause rain here is generally house trained and polite (i.e. quiet) doesn't mean you've been here too long, just means you're acclimated!! I'm originally from back East, so I miss thunder and lightening occasionally, but living without hurricanes, ice storms, tornados and blizzards is not a sign of a mental defect!

I live in Redwood Shores.
I was obsessed with Korean dramas for a while, but now I'm now back to J-dorama :P
Ever since the comeback, my favorites are Orange Days (this actually prompted my return to J-dorama), H2 and Engine.

Haha.. Bay Area weather just means random. I live on the penninusla. It was freezing cold this morning, and then it got warmer towards noon. At my school, our lunch ends at 1:00 and so when I was walking to my afternoon class, it was sunny and warm. Then after that class, at 2:00, it was cloudy and windy and cold. Haha... and a side note: KCBS is hardly ever right about their weather forecasts during the winter. -_- They're always predicting rain, but it never rains!!! Argh...

Oh wait. Haha.. everyone was talking about weather and I forgot what this thread was for. XP

Erm.. yeah! I'm a huge jdrama fan. XD.
