How did you come across D-Addicts?

Post by xiaryx » Sep 5th, '05, 04:25

I remember when I started watching jdorama I had very difficult time finding websites to download from. I came across jtv by pure luck and it gave links to other great sites such as JEM and Aznv torrent. Then for some additional luck I found jdorama which has a post about d-addicts. I couldnt imagine how I can find this site without luck.

What about you?

I pretty much had the same experience as xiaryx when stumbling across D-Addicts. How ironic :-)

I couldn't afford to keep renting the korean videos and since programs like warez allowed me to download hollywood movies, I thought there must be some place to get the korean goods...

I googled for my favorite series like Dae Jang Geum and Yellow Handkerchief (No-ran son-soo-gun) and finally found D-addicts.

I'm still not too clear on exactly how the torrent things works, but I know it's a matter of downloading from others, and letting others do the same with mine. I've got a couple of torrents stuck at 99%. Does anyone know what to do? Reseed (don't even know quite what that is)?

You best bet in learning everything about bittorrent would be to read the FAQ because the mods put together a great explanation on how the technology works.

reseed or seed, is when someone who is done downloading the file, uploading it again for those who are not finished

First, I saw the movie "Azumi" and loved it. Some gal told me that she was in this drama, I don't remember the name..I just call it by the initials "K.K". I was captivated by her performance on Azumi so I watched KK and it was really good...freaky..but very good. My drama obsession started from there.

I saw this site a million times..but I didn't care...dramas are so dramatic..hehe. I found KK here, then I became obbsess. DEfinitely one of the best siteson the web. Thank u to all that created and help maintain this site. I love you all!

I first came to this site via a link from Jdorama, but I didnt find anything I wanted to download.

Three months later I was looking for a Japanese drama I had heard about during my brief homestay in Japan (電車男).

Yup, I just read the whole (or at lease most) of the FAQ section. Thanks.

I'll give it a couple days, and if nothing, I'll ask for a seed.

I found this site by chance too. While getting my usual anime fix via IRC, I stumble on GTO (which I knew nothign about). Evidently I was exposed to JDrama and was pretty facinated that there was actually more stuff out there than just anime (a whole lot more). I eventually found jtv site and they had a link to here. The rest is history :p. To think, if I hadn't stumbled on GTO then, I would not be here watching such great dramas like densha, slow dance, etc, etc.

Not really. I was looking for Long Vacation since it was the first drama that my brother and sister liked and I wanted to check it out myself. Ever since then, things have never been the same. 8)

I used to be an anime download hoarder and I accidentally DLed Gokusen, thinking it was the anime and was like "what the heck," because it was "live action" (ATM, jdorama was a foreign term to me) and I kept putting off watching those 3 episodes I downloaded off animesuki.com and when I finally did, WHAM! I got addicted and started googling it like crazy so I could DL the other episodes, and I finally (thank God for SARS-fansubs!) found other torrents here on d-addicts! (At the time, I think it was only up to ep 05 or something) HEH! Lucky me.

The first jdorama I saw was GTO and I didn't really think of them as such, more as "live action dramas" and what not, and eventually I learned more about other dramas and the site. At first I didn't understand the whole fansubbing process and all that and fell into the ebay buying crap (which i will NEVER do again if it's not a yesasia version or something!). And then it resulted in me finally registering as a member on this site and devoting my entire bandwidth to DLing dramas all day. Hahaha. But I think the one who most benefits from this site in my family is my mom because she watches WAYYY more dramas than I do and is always bugging me about them and stuff. (She even steals my laptop away from me so that she can watch them since it has all the necessary codecs and stuff). D-addicts has taken my life!! haha. J/k And I'm passing on the disease! Huh, but then.. d-addicts is more like a cure than a disease.. soooo... :lol  :P

find d-addicts? heck, i was born and raised here!

just kidding. i have groink to thank for leading me here. i first checked out kikutv.com (in late 2003), hoping they'd re-play one of the jdramas i had missed. i contacted groink about his trading list, but instead of taking my money (which he could have easily done), he directed me to a brand new site called 'd-addicts'. i actually joined in nov or dec 2003, but i used a different username.

through the experiences i've had with groink and d-addicts, it's taught me that not everyone is an ebay rip-off artist, and sharing keeps the bt community alive.

in msia kdramas shown here r subbed in malay or chinese. it's not very good. or worse still...dubbed in mandarin which i have no comprehension of! same goes to the vcds sold here. it was alwiz easy to download american serials so thought i'd just try my luck searching for asian dramas with english subtitles. think it was my search for summer scent downloads which led me to this site... :lol

I am a hardcore anime d/er and stumbled across The Live Action version of The Condor Heroes. Up to then, I've been unsuccessful in finding sites, despite watching Cdramas since the 80s.

Well, the first episode of Full House (kdrama) aired last night in the Bay Area (in Mandarin), and I decided to give it a shot. I used google instead of yahoo this time, got redirected to torrentspy (only a few movies there), clicked a few more links, and stumbled here. Wow, what a find.

This site's definitely a gem! Thank you.

Deja vu? I think we already had a thread for this. Then again, I'm an old drunk - what I think I remember doesn't count.

I was looking for the missing episode of Wedding Planner [jem], so I Googled for it, and... somehow ended up here. Never left either.

P.S. Though thanks to GTO my first contact with drama arena was [jtv] as well I swear I never did anything to raise the raiting of Summer Snow. It's sooo not my cup of tea that I couldn't give an honest rating anyway.

A ha ha ha, same like me ! From some anime sites, then to FoB (Fansubbers On Board) and Kdrama.com (both have Stairway To Heaven drama). Then from Kdrama forum IIRC, someone mentioned D-Addicts and now here i am :P

I was looking for a place to download Jdrama and I came across this thread at Tvseriesfans and this one girl gave the link to D-addicts. When I clicked to this site, I remember I saw the drama Under the same Roof posted and my heart almost exploded with happiness, LOL. Ever since that one fateful day, I have been a regular member of this website. D-addicts rocks B)

I came across D-Addicts after Ruroshin PM'd me at JDorama.com in late November 2003. He asked if I'd be interested in becoming a moderator at his new site. I told him, "Sure!" and that was the beginning. When I joined, I think I was member #4 or 5 (only Ruroshin and a few others signed up before me).

Just before D-Addicts opened up for business, I was looking for a way to get my video captures out there to the masses (HOTMAN, Say Hello to Blackjack, and Hitotsu Yane no Shita were three series I was working on at the time.) So it was great timing when the D-Addicts tracker was created. For the first few days, the torrent listing fit on a single page. Amazing!

I don't remember where I got the link to d-addicts. Probably one of the forums about Asian entertainment ( music, movies, etc ) that I was browsing.

I have been downloading music. movies, and animes from the net for years from various sources, mirc, DirectConnect, bittorrent, eMule.. but I didn't know that I could get drama series too !!! I've always been a fan of all kinds of dramas ( mainly C-dramas, but also some Jdorama and K-drama)

Well I'm glad I found d-addicts.. this is truly the best thing on the net ! I am officially an addict now :)

This is also the first forum that I actually feel comfortable posting and enjoy reading other posts :)

Well, as I have a streamload account, with tons of asian movies and dramas, I was wondering what I could watch, and after some research I found J-dorama database website, there was a link..... =^.^= Lucky !

That was really good to find because even if I have tons of dramas, not all were complete so I could download the ends of several of them here :)

Thanx to all of you :)

I had been here on and off, but the first time I found this place was from a link, it was at the FSC.

like many ppl, i got to d-addicts after searching anything related to the anime Hana Yori Dango. Actually, I got to Jem and Jtv's sites first, then I found out about d-addicts. If not for that anime, I would have never discovered the asian drama world.

Wow... I can't remember when or how I found D-Addicts. I think it was when I was looking for a drama and I found D-Addicts. I'm glad I did though =) I love this site! Lol. I'll consider this 'luck' =P

For me, I was first exposed to watching and downloading anime, then jdramas from jtv. And jtv led me to other sites like jem and here d-addicts. After that, I got hooked to Asian Media. Luv this site. Don't know what to do without it. :D

Me and the head editor of one of my scan groups were talking on IRC at 2 am, we got onto dramas, and she told me about it. Now she's always bombarded with my non-stop drama talk. ^^;
