My favorite parts are with Sakurai. Sure, he's the one trying to steal hermes from densha.
But whenever he would fatasize about proposing to saori with that song in the background by Earth Wind and Fire. I always fall on the floor laughing. Especially when things go wrong for him.

I'll never look at that song the same ever again, everytime I hear it, I just start laughing... :w00t:

That is HIS song, Sakurai's song!

"Every man has a place/
in his heart there's a space/
and the world can't erase his fantasies/
take a ride in the sky in a ship fantasy/
all your dreams will come true right away!"

I haven't seen the movie, just the drama... In a way, I don't really want to see the movie as much right now because it's not really the same actors. The characters in the drama are really funny! Especially Yamada!

The most anticipated TV show this week. I can't wait til it comes out. No not this show. Talking about "LOST". They're going to climb down the hole and they're going to find an abandoned active laptop. On the laptop it will be logged in at CH2. The thread will be about "how to get off the island".
Tons of entries and suggestions on leaving the island including watching re-runs of Gilligan's Island.
LOL.

^ You gotta wait for Walle's version. If you're desperate to know what happens, why not download the video files and the softsubs? Episode 10 subs were finished not long ago, and ep 10 was the latest episode that was shown in Japan.

Anyone in Japan have any extra information on Densha Otoko: Another Story.
I hear it's supposed to start Oct 6 and it stars Matsunaga.

doomo!

Post by kakashi_fan » Sep 21st, '05, 07:32

i watched an episode of densha while i was visiting japan in the summer.
was really happy to watch walle's version (3eps) and was trying patiently to wait for the latter ones....
and i was SO SO happy when i found out there was soft subs for the raws here at d-addicts!!
so now i'm finally caught up in all the eps (one finale to go) and i just spent the last two days reading all the pages in this thread (whew! i learned a lot! thanks!)
doomo to everybody involved in this densha dorama!

~kakashi_fan

p.s. i would love it if somebody would sub the TV] TV Champion 2005-09-15 [Akiba Ou Senshuken] (640x480 DivX521).avi.torrent . i found the Densha investigations to be hilarious and i'm sure this one is as well. (it's posted here at d-addicts!) thanks in advance!

Densha time soon

I don't know when I'll get it though because my internet has been flakey for the past week, it's probably better if I wait till it's put up on usenet then download from there since it's going to be a pretty big file ⊂⌒~⊃。Д。)⊃

I haven't heard of Densha Otoko: Another Story... I can't see them doing anyother densha type story but if there was something coming out.. I wonder if that would be a spin off or another network also doing the same story
I don't think another retelling of densha would be good I know there were loads of different densha mangas.. I think a densha kind of spin off could be pretty good but only if it didn't have the same story line.. that said I wouldn't mind a Densha 2 :P

According to one of doinkies' friends who translated the article:

"Densha Otoko Another Story will be aired on October 6. The title is still a temporary.

Probably whoever watched Densha Otoko drama is familiar with an Anime otaku, Matsunaga Yuusaku (played by Gekidan Hitori). This time, it will be an original story with a conception of Matsunaga being a Guitar Otoko, who once was famous on the Internet (not real). The story will be about Matsunaga's past.

Producer Wakamatsu said "Matsunaga is an interesting character and had good review from audience, too, but with Densha Otoko, we had to focus on Densha Otoko and Hermes' relationship, so we couldn't fully appreciate the character."

Matsunaga Yuusaku is an Anime otaku living in Nagoya. He visited Akihabara and gave some advices to Yamada Tsuyoshi, his friend.
The last episode of Densha Otoko illustrated Kanzuki (Mizuki?) Yuuko, Hermes' friend, approached Matsunaga after knowing Matsunaga is actually a rich man. In Another Story, you will know what'll happen to this "love."

Did anyone watch the interview? It's almost just as funny as the drama XD There was some interesting out-takes in it too like how the surf scene took over 5 hours to shoot and how Yamada broke the 400,000 Yen Mina figure during filming :P

Hi guys, sorry to be a bother. But my inspection date is this Saturday. I'm hoping my clubbox will turn GOLD, then my files won't expired anymore. So if you know how to use clubbox, it would be nice if you can dl the last episode of Densha Otoko on my box instead. I'll sure to have it up as soon as it's out... hopefully. Thank you.

What a nice ending. It's so sad to see this drama end, especially I will miss all the netfriends... I was laughing hard so much during some scenes. It was sooo funny when they "pixelated" the "adult kiss". It was a joke, I hope, or are they actually doing pixels over french kisses on japanese TV? :)

Lovely show. LMAO quite a lot.
But the guy who plays Densha just bug the hell out of me. He's one of the worst actors I've ever seen and I think his face was scrunched up on about 90% of the scenes he's in.

But still, awesome show. Sakurai is probably the funniest villain since Dr. Evil.

Here's an idea for a show: same deal with the same people from the message board, except they help out a diferent person every episode.

:lol I'd say that's Densha's character getting to you.. I think Itou Atsushi did an amazing job as Densha Otoko, that had to be quite a tough role, looking back on all those scenes..!

Thanks to everyone who uploaded/subbed/helped in any way with making this drama available to people. :D I'm sad it's over but it's now my most favorite drama~

Well, to each, his own. As for me I think Itoh Atsushi did some awesome job playing Densha character. The way I look at it, that there many scene involving him has his face "scrunched up" somehow really show that Densha character is not good at hiding things and how innocent he was.

DENSHA <=> SLOW DANCE

Post by tozacchi » Sep 24th, '05, 19:38

I wasn't able to read much of the thread and I apologize if someone mentioned it aleady but did anyone noticed the small link between DENSHA and SLOW DANCE? :D

Try to find it before looking at the answer below. Have Fun.

ANSWER:
The answer is Mr. Ichisaka! Near the end of the drama when all of the NET buddies talk about the things that they were able to overcome because of DENSHA, Mr. Ichisaka referred to him getting married and they show the picture of him and his wife in their TACO STORE UNIFORM based on the SLOW DANCE story. You can even see the Japanese beginner driver stickers (The yellow and green ones) on the back of his monitor (Remember when he was going to the driving school where Reach was studying). Just to make sure, I checked the web pages of the drama's and checked the cast's and they matched and both web pages even link the two! Pretty interesting.

I've noticed that too. When I saw that picture, I knew right away it was from SLOW DANCE since I'm currently watching that drama. When I first saw him, I thought the guy is playing different characters since it's two different dramas. But when I saw the picture, I was surprised to find out it's actually the same character! Kinda weird having a character from another drama appear.

Try to find it before looking at the answer below. Have Fun.

I noticed it too, and I thought that was fun, linking both dramas.

The Japanese like to cross-link the popular drama's I have heard. I think we probably do a little bit of that here in America too.. :) I noticed the link between Slow Dance and Densha Otoko in like, episode 2 or 3 of Densha, because that man said something like, "If I can get my license, then you can get a girlfriend." Or something to that effect. (Not an exact quote) I haven't finished watching Slow Dance, but I saw enough already to catch that link.

Ahh I loved to watch Densha Otoko. It kinda makes me happy to think that it is loosely based on a true story. It was so funny, so sad, and so romantic. I rarely get my boyfriend to watch doramas with me, but he was there for this one!

Saw the final episode, this has been my second final episode of the week. Another favorite series of mine came to an end this week. Two great finales, Densha had a good run, it will be remembered. This drama was definitely one for everyone, I hope most people get to see this series and enjoy it. As a avid forum poster and web user I felt somewhat of a strong connection to this drama I imagine most people here feel the same.

As many people mentioned Yamada's studdering did get on my nerves as I'd wish he'd finally say what I know he was about to say. However I felt it was a somewhat necessary character quality to express his inexperience. It was a good story, I was a bit envious of the story as I'm sure others were, I'm sure an experience like that would be amazingly interesting. Whether the original story is true or not, no one knows for sure except for the writer. It was still a beautiful story and glad it got the popularity that Japan gave it.

Most forums I know rarely ever reach the 1000 post mark. But 2ch hits that very often with its topics, you see topics with almost 100 parts, each part with 1000 posts, it's pretty ridiculous. It's extremely popular and has such a large community, of all different topics and genre. It'd be nice if one day if english speaking net users could have such a diverse forum without trying to imitate 2ch.

LOL the imaginary scene Aoyama and Yamada with the galaxy express, before it took off I was already thinking about Galaxy Express 999 and Aoyama and Yamada being Meiteru and Tetsuro. I'm such a Leiji Matsumoto head~

It will be very hard for an english version of 2ch. We tend to use blogs or xanga, or any other odd things other than a bbs. Also 2ch, doesn't require people to sign up, which is a really good thing... now to learn japanese so i can go on 2ch :)

we should all make something like 2ch, well a big forum with a lot of people in it, and don't need people to sign up... that would be soooo coool....

:D This is my first J-Drama to watch and I loved every minute of it. The characters were so well acted and endearing. I definitely vote this a life changing show. I am wondering what to do now to fill up my previously occupied time by Densha. Any recommendations of other J-Dramas?

I honestly don't know :roll i dont watch a whole lot of TV. I guess I am up for anything. I really enjoyed the romantic storyline of Densha, but also the random bits of comedy that had me ROFL. So I guess something that focussed on the story and how its told more than random action.

It's a side story about Matsunaga Yuusaku, one of Densha's two otaku buddies.
