i wouldn't mind working on Happy Together~ I saw the first episode hardsubbed by Kdrama a while back and I found it to be a very interesting drama, however the relationships seem a little complex because there's so many of them. but then again, I've only watched one episode.

good luck KDA!!!

We're not working on Lets go to the beach, another fansub group did. I think you've mistaken us with the other group.

if you ever need the subs ripped from those "hong kong dvd sets" pm me or whatevers. i'm in hong kong right now and reilgiously buy the sets, whenever a new one comes out. it's becoming a problem actually. i just sent a box of 10 korean dramas back home to the states.

Oooo.... Punch! :w00t:
Am I correct in assuming these will be hardsubs since you've got an encoder on your team?
Doesn't bother me one way or another, I'm just curious...
I'll be looking forward to your releases as well!

They will most likely be soft subs.

Bone-Doll I have sent the Snowman discs to you today.

Kaz, I will start work on ep 6 tonight. It's good to see that whoever subbed Love Storm did not limit themselves to Taiwanese shows.

I hope we can do Stained Glass. I love Lee Dong Gun. He made me cry in Lovers in Paris.

No sorry, only Snowman can be found in posole's clubbox. The rest will only be available via BT on D-addicts.

What's wrong with BT? I like BT :lol and since i have so many uploaders seeding shouldn't be a problem :whistling:

I never really liked Clubbox. I know it has it's benefits but I prefer BT, and the way how D-addicts runs it with BT. :thumright:

I agree with sticking with BT. First to support D-Addicts and keep the traffic here where it originates in the first place (not to mention the majority of members who aren't fluent in Korean), and also with the ban on several tv station's series, who knows when the rest will end up getting someone's clubbox closed down anyway.

Just mine own little humble opinion...

I want to applaud the d-addicts team for doing such a great job. Ppl like us really appreciate your time and sweats in providing series to us w/o any cost.

About the character limit.

If you got a webpage somewhere (or I can host one for you) you can use the HTML iframe to embed it in your post.

e.g. I can embed the VSS page here

Code: Select all

<IFRAME frameborder="0" width="550" height="50" scrolling="no" src="images/vss/vss.htm"></IFRAME>
<IFRAME frameborder="0" width="550" height="50" scrolling="no" src="images/vss/vss.htm"></IFRAME>

of course you would replace the src with your html url and you can adjust the width and height.

That way you can put all the information you want in a HTML page and iframe it here for visibility 8)

Not bad, i'll fiddle with it tonight.

Thanks Ruro. :thumright:

admin edit:
don't iframe any of d-addicts forum page though because it causes the server to process the site twice with every view. Which is bad for the server.

O.k. big update, ToE will be postpone till further notice, we are having some issues and things needs to be sorted out first before we can get it moving again.

Meanwhile we will concentrate on our other small projects and will not work on any new project until ToE is completed.

I can't thank you enough for being in existence, KDA team. I love what you're doing and you seem to be one of the most prolific groups out there. :-)

And, Punch and Stained Glass.. *droools*

If you can’t see the iframes, please check your D-A setting, make sure you have Always “Always allow HTML on”

Punch! - Coming soon
I've been waiting for this forever. This drama has taught me to have a bit of patience. I did not know it was released as a DVD boxset, but I saw a post at Koreanfilm.org the other day with the boxset image. Has anyone else seen or heard of a DVD boxset? I don't know if it had English subs, but most likely not.

I do have another question. I noticed that a lot of the K-Drama files will not play on the Philips 642 stand-alone DVD player. I think is has something to do with the encoding. The first three episodes of Gumhio will not play (icedramas do.) Stairway to Heaven will not play either. Even though the file appears to be Xvid when run thru GSpot, there seems to be something on a deeper level that is not compatable with the Philips. Does anyone know what kind of encoding was used on those K-Drama releases?

Most often it's Qpel, but I have noticed that some flavors of Xvid cause hiccups on mine, though I've done so much tweaking with the firmware, I've no clue which one I'm even running these days (and my buttons act weird. Oh well. Big fat subs when they play...)

I has been told that Qpel was an issue, but was never sure if the files from K-Drama were encoded using it.

Do you have NTSC sync tip or sync point problems when playing avi files on the Philips? You know, when the wave gets out of sync and the bottom of the screen shakes a bit. Many of the files downloaded from TV broadcasts seem to have this issue. I found that two of the "Ireland" files had sync tip problem, but the other 14 did not. Two different people encoded the files.

I just got the Philips a month ago, and have not updated any firmware. Only set it to all-region. It is primarily for playing avi files since I have another DVD player that does everything else.

The Boxset that I’ll be getting will have English subtitles but considering that I’m getting it from HK it'll probably have engrish sub with Chinese names. Hopefully the engrish isn’t too bad and we can work on it without a translator. I was supposed to get it last week but it hasn’t arrived yet..

And even when the KDA does get a hold of it, we won't work on it till our biggest project in completed ( Terms of Endearments )

Isn't there another group working on Punch. AHQ-Fansubs has it posted as in progress. Are you part of that group? In any event, I'm looking forward to the subs, and it does not matter who, when or where does it first. :-) Another thing to consider is the original avi files were not that great quality. Are you planning on ripping the DVDs too?

Don't you think Kim Tae Hee and Louis Koo would make a good couple?!

Yes there is another group doing Punch! and no KDA gorup is not a part of that group. Last I heard of AHQ-fansub was that their group wasn’t going very well.. I could be wrong, but when the time does come for KDA group to start work on Punch!, I would have to check weather they are still doing this project or not. We could have a joint project with AHQ who knows. It still needs to be discussed and yet to be decided weather KDA will take this project because it’s in the future projects and not the current ones. And yes we will provide our own source.

This is good news. And if and when your group decides to subtitle Punch I will be cheering you on.
