Hey people, I know there's a topic on Japanese Music Recomendation but I wanted to start this topic to make it more exact on what type of music I'm looking for. Anyone here a jazz fan? If so, please recommend top quality Japanese Jazz Songs/Music....Onegai!
It's gotta be Mayumi Kojima.
She's totally cute and stylish. Not all her music is jazz -- some of it is ragtime, blues, rock, pop -- but it generally is a jazz feel.

I think you'll love Keiko Matsui, she's the ultimate jazz pianist. I saw one of her concerts and was blown away.
Also one of the nice things was that it was at a medium size venue, so she was visiting with the audience after
the show and I was able to get her autograph on both her latest (at the time) CD and CD cover.

She really knows how to take care of her fans.

Try looking for a girl named "Asuka".
I got to tell you you would never believe thhat girl was only 11 years old when she was doing an album. She has a voice of a 30 year old at least and extremely talented.
Her mother is a famous jazz singer as well and I think her father plays the piano professionally so she really has some pedigree to build on.
Brilliant musical mind and voice indeed.

You said you were looking for "top quality" jazz, but is there any reason why you're interested in Japanese artists?
If you don't mind milder jazz, some of Kishino Yoshiko's earlier stuff isn't too bad. She's mellowed out over the years, so I've stopped listening to her, but a couple of albums she's released earlier in the year have received good reviews.
