Episode 10..one word: banana-chucks.

Geronimo is really good, especially when he gets something wrong and wont admit it, a very funny character and actor for this part at least.

I finished watching the drama in 3 days, and I found it to be very interesting. It has a "gokusen" feel to it, but I think the gals have a more active role than in gokusen, when only 2 or 3 of the gangs really dominated the entire dorama. Here you have 5-6 interesting figures. And also you have the added bonus of seeing some gals. Seriously I wasn't really expecting anything from this drama when I started to download it, so I am surprised that it was rather entertaining.

This is not a masterpiece, but if you want a good light-hearted dorama, this is a very good choice.

This is drama's pretty funny. With Geronimo's sudden happening, I just knew it. I think it's pretty interesting but I think this drama really took a turn in the end. In the beginning I thought it was going to be an advice/ comedy drama. It wasn't. Haha. But the preview for 11 looks like whoa. If they kill someone then I'm going to have to say ugh. Bye bye lightheartness.

Well, I'm too lazy to watch ep11 without subs so I'll jsut have to wait.

Good luck getting it from Yesasia. I preordered, and they told me they couldn't get it.
I'm probably going to have to get it from Amazon.jp instead. :-(

Sorry to bump this, but I wanted to plug my fansite for Galsa now that I finally have the summaries done =)

http://fan.harmony-bunny.net/gal/

I worked really hard and don't want it to go to waste. If you see anything I've messed up on, please correct me! Also, I'd love if someone could translate the episode titles or make corrections of my own translations. I'm not fluent in Japanese so it was difficult, and I know I've fudged up at least once. :lol

actually i would like to know if any CB is hosting this series. bittorrent don't really like me as the maximum speed i can get is only around 10kb (while for CB i can get as high as 100kb)...

as it's going to take me forever to get it from torrents, so if any cb is sharing this, please let me know.

thanks :)

hehe, I think you should watch it even though it's kind of silly. If you enjoy eye candy like I do, watch it! And I don't know how to describe it in words, but the para para is O_O!

Man, that costs a lot. I've never attempted to buy Jdoramas DVDs, so I'm pretty surprised with the price. Makes me love all the fansubbers out there more. :lol

Although it doesn't top my list of faves, I actually enjoyed Gal Circle.
On the surface it's like many other dramas where the main protagonist uses unconventional methods to teach younger kids moral/life lessons (i.e. GTO, Engine, Dragon Zakura). However, it utilizes the most absurd premise: an American (yeah right!) cowboy befriending a group of para para street kids in Shibuya, Tokyo.
The humor in the show is "tongue in cheek" and it never takes itself seriously.

It reminded me in a number of ways to Nobuta (one of my all time fave dramas).
1st the excellent camerawork, 2nd the soundtrack by Yoshihiro Ike and 3rd Erika Toda. (Actually Tatta Hitotsu no Koi shares the same elements as well... a drama I thought was a LOT worse than Gal Circle).

Basically, I liked Gal Circle b/c it at least made an attempt to be original. Fujiki Naohito's character was like NOTHING he had ever done before. The humor lies more in the irony of the situation more than a string of well executed jokes. Anyhow, that's my take on it.

I really enjoyed Galcir!

I went into it thinking it was going to be a silly and fun drama and that is exactly what I got!!! It made me laugh and was so zany/unbelievable that I just enjoyed the adventure.

If you go into it thinking it going to be serious or witty humor then anyone would be disappointed. It was fun, slapsticky, "groan at the silliness of it", over the top humor, goofy. It is not for everyone but I had a good time with it. :D

Wow, what a coincidence - I finished watching Galcir not too long ago myself.

As doubledown11 said, while Galcir has a very classic Japanese drama structure, the sheer ridiculousness of the premise - a cowboy from Arizona named Shinnosuke helping Shibuya girls find themselves - just makes it more entertaining. I enjoyed every one of the Shinnosuke-Geronimo videoconference conversations as well as Sato Ryuta's enthusiastic overacting. Probably my favorite moment is where Shinnosuke says "not the boomerang again" and Geronimo snaps back "well why don't you try coming up with the allegories?!?! By next week! Four of them! Dammit..."

The girls' stories themselves, and their para-para, were pretty dull and conventional though.
