Eugene's best.

Post by Koga1 » May 29th, '06, 19:37

Eugen's best drama. I doubt she would be starring anything like that again, since both Wonderful life and whatever she is doing now are both far from successful.

Still if someone were in Jisung's position it would be only logical to marry Yi boyong instead of chasing for love. Jisung is in weak position and very vulnerable. He should have chosen someone who could actually help him.

Such stories have made Korean dramas stagnate.

U can find the link for soft english subs by A_Inuyasha replied to my question above.

Download the raw dramas, then use soft sub to see. Good luck ! SOBSUB software must be downloaded to see soft sub also.

Can anyone identify this object?

Post by manamana » Aug 7th, '06, 00:21

I have a picture of the main charachter wearing a chain accross his collar (I've circled it). Anyone know what the name for that is? i've been trying to find something like it online but couldn't.

Man! I just finished watching this series and boy did I cry like a baby at the end! Storyline is typical korean drama for you but the characters, chemistry, and the acting ability of the actors are what makes up for the lack of originality in plot. Still, it's incredibly romantic--thanks to the convincing, sincere acting on the male lead's part as well as the great, great chemistry between main leads. I know all korean dramas are alike but none have touched me in ways this drama has. It may be unrealistic in many ways... but isn't that part of its appeal? We all yearn to experience the kind of love like Chang-Ho and Eun-Soo's--and I sincerely do believe that there are people out there--however few there may be. When you witness a love like this, you can't help but feel happiness for the people involved... and a kind of sadness, resignation towards yourself. Will you ever find your true love? How can you bring magic back into your own love life? That's the big question. One of the best korean love stories I've seen! (the tired cliches in the plot makes me sick but that's a whole other topic to discuss....)

does anyone know where and how I can get the OSTs to this series?

I really loved the music in it..matched beautifully with the plotline..I really enjoyed this series, though the story was a bit typical for k-melodramas, the chemistry between eugene and ji sung was incredible and the love story was quite sweet.

i watched it. and if you're observant enough, you'll realize some similiarities with 'lovers in paris'. they used the same building (GD motors vs. Global Chem). and the little house that kim jung eun stayed is the same as that of eugene, they just painted a different color and moved the furnishings around). but it was obvious enough to me. and also, the hospital room that lee dong gun stayed in the last few episodes after he met with the accident is also same as the one ji sung's dad stayed after he had a heart attack. did anyone notice them?

as for the OST, you can get it here :

When you watch dramas in general, it's like that. I don't remember Save but I know that in "My Girl" SBS used the same hospital room they used in "Green Rose". Lee Da Hae was also the lead. That's more obvious.

Or watching "What's Up, Fox?", I think Byung Hee's room is similar to Eugene's room in "Wonderful Life". In SBS drama "Korea Secret Agency" they also used LK as an high-class company with the same building ("Super Rookie", also with Eric) - cause they wanna make some kind of sequel.
So... why not the same buildings as long as they weren't the same?

just finished watching this. WOW. great drama. kept me in my seat that i didn't sleep all night. *sigh* each episode is full of events. many things happen. it just kinda dragged on in the last episode, when the girl was playing this hide-and-seek for whatever reasons. how many times did she have to hide for unreasonable reasons? it was just too much. hehe. i was actually playing the last episode in a faster mode because it was starting to irritate me. i thought that it would end in the resolution of tangmin's issue, but they still crippled her! and another year??? omo.. omo...

the main actor, altho not that cute, was good. i love the lines (or perhaps the subtitles?). i also like the way the girl runs. hehe. when she runs, she really runs.

ah, cham... the OST is fantastic! :)

i juz found out the one who acted as ji sung's dad in the show 'kim mu saeng' has passed away in 2005. did anyone know what did he die of? is it cancer or something? and he's actually the real father of the actor 'kim joo hyuk', the guy from lovers in prague.

I really liked this drama! I never expected to cry as much as i did. Yes the amnesia thing is getting old but this drama is definitely worth watching. It was the only drama where they do the whole *2 years later* thing TWICE, that i've seen. The ending was kinda sad but good.

I thought for sure they'd kill off the main female lead. Glad they didnt!

Save The Last Dance is a very typical k-drama and could perhaps be a leading contender for the most matches in the Thing's I've Noticed From K-Dramas thread. But having said that, I thought this series was moderately entertaining, since typical and derivative doesn't necessarily mean bad. Or, it could be because I like Kim Eugene? Ok ok that is the reason, but hey, at least I admit it!

Now, what's this series about again? Oh, that's right - It has an amnesia based storyline. Guy gets stabbed, loses his memory. gets hit by a car, regains his memory, gets knocked in the head to regain his memory from the part where he first lost it. Who would've thought??! Edge of your seat entertainment right there. I think I'm being a tad too harsh, but let's just say that this series is totally character driven. You don't like the characters, you won't like the series. Simple as that. If you like the characters then no matter how clichéd the storyline is, you'll probably enjoy this series. Good thing Eugene is in it then eh?

Once again, just like in Wonderful Life, Eugene plays a character who is impossible NOT to like. I still don't know what it is about her. Let's face it, she's not the greatest actress, nor is she that pretty, yet for some inexplicable reason, I really really like her. Ji Sung's character is also so much more likeable than his role in All In, and I was very surprised he could do the free spirited, playful role so well. They both had great chemistry which I honestly didn't expect.

The STLD OST has some very nice songs, most of which are sung by Edward Chun. His smooth voice coupled with meaningful lyrics really played a major part in this series. Perhaps a bit too much, as those 2 or 3 songs were played non-stop. It got to the point where the whole series felt a bit like an elongated MV. Everything in moderation please.

If you are relatively new to k-dramas then I would recommend this series, since it has so many elements that define korean dramas. Definitely watch it if you like Eugene. On the other hand, even if you've seen as little as 5 k-dramas then you'd be better of giving this one a miss, since there's nothing in it that you haven't seen before. With all things factored in, a 6.5 out of 10 seems like a reasonable score.

Although this drama does feature the typical Kdrama formula of accidents, amnesia, and all that good stuff..i wouldnt call it a crying series. There are some emotional parts that u might cry in here or there, but it's not one of those where it's tragic & depressing enough to make u cry every episode...and dont worry, the ending is a sweet one, not miserable. It's overall a cute series that features a sweet love story with great chemistry between the leads. So dont worry, I recommend u continue it!

This was the drama I cried over lol. I was really miserable watching Eugene's character lie to her lover (after his amnesia disappeared and they started going out) saying that she was only with him b/c she wanted th money and that she lied to him about having a previous lover that was a lot like him. I think Tae-min never had a chance to win Eunsoo's heart because she loved changho/hyun woo since the beginning before taemin. i was happy they were reunited in the end. finally. a drama that has a happy ending.

I decided to watch this drama cause I longed for something older with that atmosphere old dramas used to have (like Spring Waltz) and so far I'm pretty much liking this show. I watched 10 episodes in one go and now I just finished watching ep 12. Gonna watch some more after writing this post.

The first episode wasn't that hooking. But I still kept watching and found this drama pretty good. The acting is good and I like screenwriting too. The director is full of typical cliches but well, that's unavoidable. Kim Yoo Jin doesn't look very Asian to me but she is very pretty. I saw her in Unstoppable Marriage movie before. Ji Sung is pretty cute and has pretty hot body <3 he is an ok actor, I saw him in All In before and he was pretty good there too. I feel bad for Tae Min. In many dramas based on revenge his kinda character is the leading man. No wonder if he turns bad after everything what happened.

I'm a bit annoyed with some obvious cliches like main girl getting job at the company with help of gm who starts liking her but she likes someone else. Then she gets bullied by co-workers who are 30 years old but act like teenage girls. The main girl is pure and nice and in the end everyone starts liking her man, so old. I'm a bit unsatisfied with the fact that when he lost his memory first time the 1 year later jump came so fast. I would have wanted to see how he recovered and stuff. But overall it's not boring.

I think that this drama has nice lines. I feel like I'm learning about life while watching. The chemistry between leads is good. And thsi sereis is deep, man it's deeper than ocean.

btw. This series reminded me of Prince turns to Frog a lot. But somewhat this reminded me of WHIB too the way main girl dressed and how she got to work at the company.

I like the OST too. Especially all those guitar instrumentals.

I'm glad I'm not alone on this. It's strange how some of us find the atmosphere of older dramas appealing, yet at the same time we always make fun of them.

I too, have been longing to watch a good older drama but can't seem to find one. Maybe I should watch Winter Sonata? Actually, scratch that....I'll stick to newer dramas for now :)

I heard Winter Sonata wasn't that good. But who knows.

Anyway, I watched some more episodes and it's pretty good so far. I like how compact thie drama actually is. It doesn't fall apart and doesn't feel lamely boring (at least not for too long) and it really makes me want to watch it. Though thanks to all clichees it's so predictable, I'm able to tell what kind ascene is coming next.

Now that Soo Jin is getting ANNOYING!! What do I hate the most in Kdramas? Stupid, bratty, spoileg ex girlfriends who are stuck up on one guy and are willing to do anything to break him and main girl apart. I take that as a sign of total weakness. Soo Jin is not able to live on without Hyun Woo?!!! That's so lame, there is no such love in real life and that's the most unrealistic thing I have ever seen. Also Eun Soo saying "I will only love one man in my whole life" was so LAAME!
But anyway, apart from Soo Jin this drama is so mature and very simple yet the plotting is beautifully sweet. I love all the plotting, it's just perfect. Hyun Woo's dad has now a reason to make Hyun Woo marry Soo Jin no matter what thanks to Tae Min! Ah, I love, love, love it!!! Even though Hyun Woo's dad gave Hyun Woo freedom to chosoe he will have to take his words back or then let Hyun Woo choose and go down.

Also Hyun Woo fell for Eun Soo a bit too early. I know it was supposed to be like subconscious thing yet still it felt too sudden. I just love those love-hate relationships. I wanted the love triangle between Tae Min, Hyun Woo and Eun Soo to be abit bigger. Though it may be just ahead.

Btw. The scene when Hyun Woo "stole" Eun Soo's kimbap while she went to bathroom was so cute <3
