1 Litre of Tears. But I didn't finish that yet because it was sad and I didn't wanna go on..
The first COMPLETED series though was Hana Yori Dango. :/ lol. I kept crying while watching though, but it wasn't as sad as 1 litre, so I didn't stop.

My first was Hana Yori Dango...actually it was my first Asian drama period and after that I wanted to watch more. I grew to like them more than watching tv. American drama/soaps go on and on and get more and more crazy.

Hana Yori Dango. It was my first introduction to anything asian ever and from then on I went berserk. Hana Yori dango led to Gokusen (good ol' Jun) and from then on it led to the many many many others.

i'm not sure if this constitutes as JDorama, but my first J-Drama was 1 littre of tears. I can't recall the one i watched afterwards though. Ones i've seen are GTO, Shota no Sushi, Kimi wa Petto, Seikei Bijin, Koi Gai Shitai and Queen's Classroom. I think that's all.

there was one from a LONG time ago, that I watched when I was in 6-8th grade (i've been out of college for 3 years now)...that was probably the very first dorama i watched, but i didn't start back up in it, til HYD. So while I'm tired of HYD, I'm thankful for it, because it brought me back to the genre and now I'm hooked. =)

My first watched j-dorama was OSHIN!! Hahaha... i bet i'm not the only one who watched this as the first japanese drama :).
And then i started watching tokyo love story, ordinary people, under the same roof, and long vacation. That was my very first interest to Japanese Dorama

Currently i watched nodame cantabille (so funny!!) and next would be itsumo futari de (anyone could give me synopsis about this drama?)

SOS

Post by Danji » Mar 13th, '07, 18:29

My first Dorama was SOS. Still one of the best Dorama shows EVER!

I quickly followed it up with Long Vacation, Good Luck, Beautiful Life, Hero, GTO, Shota no Sushi, Food Fight, Shopping Hero, Salaryman Kintaro (1,2,3), Kasouken no Onna (Investigator Mariko) (All seasons). And here I am years later, still in LOVE with Dorama. :-)

I play around a bit more now, downloading some Korean and Chinese shows. Most of which are pretty good. :-)

A few firsts

Post by Kuraharashizue » Mar 14th, '07, 00:48

It's a little complicated.

Somewhere around '98 I saw a couple of episodes of some dorama about a girl who works at an Anna Miller's and who falls in love with a guy whose family tries to keep them apart. At least I think that was the plot because no subtitles ... But, at the time I didn't know this was a 'dorama', any more than a non-subtitled episode of SHOMUNI a friend in Japan sent me.

Then, I followed a link to a site with a live action version of the anime ACE WO NARAE. I grabbed it and the YOU'RE UNDER ARREST 'doramas'.

The site had lots of other live action, subtitled Japanese shows. I tried a couple, but the first which I took the time to watch from beginning to end was LONG VACATION. I've since then accumulated almost a hundred series, from QUEEN'S CLASSROOM to the SHOMUNI trilogy of series, and from the poignant BEAUTIFUL LIFE to the hilarious - and long running - WOMEN OF THE ONSEN (IKOU E ONSEN).

Hahaha ......... I bet you're Indonesian! Coz I'm the same. Not into it all, tho.

Yeah, first is Oshin. Then Tokyo Love Story and Under the same roof. I adore Under the Same Roof!!!!

For a long time I forgot the joy of asian drama. After Meteor Garden and some k-dramas, a friend of mine gave Nobuta Wo Produce. But it's after HYD I got the feeling of watching jdoramas again.

I think my first jdrama was Long Vacation waaaaay back. Then Love Generation, GTO, First Love, Beach Boys... but I kind of stopped watching jdramas when I grew up because I didn't have time due to school. :) Now I have lots and LOTS to catch up on!
