i guess id hoped the directors would go WAAY beyond and original since i beleive hyd is ALREADY different from the manga in soe ways right?

but GEEZ. im like all happy watching the first 20min and so and tsukasa acting all typical cutsi boyfriend which was just A RELIEF to watch after about 18 episodes of nerve killing tug-and-war love stuff.

*sigh*. id looove to like put my feelings into this post somehow. but theres so0o0o0o much going through my head. possibily of hyd3?

argg i really think the drama is wandering off from the manga. i was looking so forward to the rain scene but it just didnt hit me as much as when i read it in the manga. the way they said things was really off. i didnt even feel sad from it. i really agree with SVEvenstar about

Does anybody know if the live-action Japanese movie [1995; Fujiki Naohito] of HanaDan ever got subbed or if it's floating around anywhere?

I'd like to see it. ^_^

Also, does anybody know if episode 11 will air at the normal time? They're not making it two hours or giving it a special time like they did with the first episode, are they? If they move the time to 9 p.m., I definitely won't be home on time to watch it.. *gags*

Hm...In my oppinion, the best way to end this Drama is eitherThey both jump...( a cliff I mean), or Doumoji should go back to Monkey girl, and Makino to Rui, or just....not end it at all!!! SO MAD!!!! 2 EPS LEFT AND THEY'RE STRETCHIN IT PRETTY FAR!!! Too far for ANYONE'S comfort! like holly s**t! makes me go insane!!!!!!!!!!!!! Overall, I thought The Rain Scene (trademark, Kamio Enterprises) in Episode 9 was well done. You could tell the director appreciated the importance of The Rain Scene (trademark, Kamio Enterprises)as well. The show seemed to be hyping it last week, and right away after the opening credit. Even before the rain actually starts, the director was sending big-time messages to the viewer -- "don't turn that channels emo boys and fangirls, we got The Rain Scene (trademark, Kamio Enterprises) coming right up!"

That said, it wasn't especially moving. Part of it is, I think, viewer fatigue. They've each tried to end their relationship already. And because the setup of this show was post-breakup to begin, both have already expressed -- again many times -- just how much they loved each other and how much it hurt being apart. If you play the scene verbatim to the manga, the knockout still isn't there, because we the viewers have been taking in shots all season. Where The Rain Scene (trademark, Kamio Enterprises) played like a key summation in HYD, here well it played like a reciprocation of the beginning of the show.

Also, I guess I thought the film direction and cinemtography could have been better for the scene. Frankly, it felt a little like they were running short on budget and/or time, and kinda cooked something up in a hurry to get through the scene. It didn't really match the beautifully aching revelation of the Sojiro/Sara scene in Episode 7, or the bittersweet, poetic reunion of Episode 1. The slow motion, wake up in New York, God it's been so long scene when they meet again. There wasn't that kind of flowing "Makino will remember this moment for the rest of their lives" quality to the scene.

You get the sense that the shoe doesn't really drop until next week. When the aformentioned spoiler seemingly creates a "finality" that Makino has not really taken in her heart.

That said, the rest of the episode -- when it wasn't laboring to set up The Rain Scene (trademark, Kamio Enterprises) was pretty good.

I've liked the portrayal of Kaede throughout the show, and especially today. Yeah, she's the villain, but the show quietly builds her complex relationship, as it very much is in the manga, with her son. The Doumyojis are sort of like the old clans that you see in Taiga dramas. Before love, they rule with the heavy-handed heart over their fiefdom. And, so, this is Kaede's reign of a much bigger timeline; her brutal cunning and the power of the Doumyoji group has been her legacy; she like her predescessors is trying to preserve it through her son. But he won't take, and this is almost incomprehensible to not only her but the Doumyoji history.

Loved the first 15-20 minutes of the show. And, you know, there's a unmistakeable something between Jun and Mao; if you watch it closely, they both kinda step out of their characters and let their natural vibe take over.

I haven't read the 10/11 spoilers, but it looks like the show really oughta have something after this season. Maybe S3, maybe a special, something.

Rui's been kind of a side character this season. He had a more major role in the first episode and then when he was actively vying for Makino. But Rui kinda disappears for long periods of time; he's in the scenes only moderately more than the other of the "F3." It kinda hurt the dramatic credibility of the triangle; he just wasn't around often enough to make you believe she could plausibly pick him.

Toda Erika will be a special guest star on the TBS drama "Hana Yori Dango 2".

Ah, see, that's a major ratings push, as her star is hotter than even Jun right now. After seeing her in Death Note, she could definitely play Umi.

It's a really, really good fit.

Also putting somebody of her star gives a love rival more "cred" than Shigeru and Ayano. I mean, imagine if Doumyoji had to go against Yamashita Tomahisa. Even if he'd be like "ughhh, Makino . . . even I would leave you for Yamapi. Dude I need a new perm!" ;) Just as you wouldn't be able to not separate Yamapi from his character, you can't help but see Umi as "OMG it's Toda Erika! Kawaaiiii!!!! She rocked in Death Note!!!"

Anyway, speaking of the prettiest of pretty boys . . .

the rain scene was exeptionally well done. i loved how they showed each of the f4 sorta in their own element: rui with his violin, sojiro with his bike, akira sorta just chilling but a lil worried, and finally tsukasa tryna find makino and i loved how the image looked soften. so awesome!

bellaza , so far, this the best review that i read here about a HYD episode.
totally agree with you. but i have my hands my heart on how they going to end this series? pople on official HYD blog have been comlaining about the minimum amount of scenes between Domyouji and makino and also dragging the whole shigeru story for too long and wasting much unneeded time on this and now they actually are running out of time to tell the end story in approprait time.
as for that famous rain scene, it made me cry but not as much as i thought it would. maybe i read too many spoilers about it. comepletely was prepared for it.

yo, belleza, that is so true. Why would they make Toda Erika a special guest? They could have picked anyone. Who is UMI anyways? Ah , who cares. But damn, why would they make such a move. THey've clearly beat all the dramas this season, must they have more . lol. Jun and Mao really do have a good chemistry together. I would think they are a couple in real life. Rain scene was kind of gay, but it did introduce something. Forgetting about everything that is around them right now, does Makino really like Doumyouji for the person he is and not the person he appears to be in society? Good job everyone on subbing this series. Way faster than SARS fansubs. lol. but they are doing other projects, so I can't get down on them, just joking.

to tell you the truth people, i rather have a sad ending then a sappy one. Cuz if it's gunna be a mushy endin the drama would probably lose rating, and if it's sad...well...i dun even kno wuts gunna happen then. but then again, that's only one opinion out of millions.

Just finished watching ep 9!ok the rain scene wasn`t as heartbreaking as i expected cos what she told him there won`t stand up....there are tons and tons of things she did with him/for him that prove exactly the opposite!tsukasa was just shocked to hear what she said but as soon as he`ll overcome the shock,he`ll be on the fishing village in no time

the next ep doesn`t look so bad afterall either

and i think that they can go towards a happy ending....there is plenty of time to make it have a happy ending! :alcoholic:

(i haven`t read the spoilers for 11th ep so i`m talking about the things as they look from the view of a person that talks just by what it looks it`ll turn out to be)!
now i can say with all my heart that i can`t wait to see the next ep

i really was "afraid"of this rain scene!but they love eachother and love will surely find a way to bring them together!i sure hope so!gambate tsukushi!gambate tsukasa!!!!!

oh and i see why tsukushi did what she did!there was a loooooooooooot of pressure put upon her!

Hey guys, I'm back. Had to live without dsl for like 2 weeks but now I've started catching up with you all. Last night I've watched ep 08. Guess what? I had a dream with Doumyouji, Tsukushi and Shigeru. In my dream Shigeru was a call girl or something. I was Tsukushi. And Doumyouji was just Doumyouji. ^^ Now the sad thing is he wanted us both. We ran away but Shigeru kept pulling at my shirt as she apparently wasn't a fast runner and she didn't want to be left alone. You can imagine it wasn't too hard for him to find us no matter where we ran and hid. In the end I complained so much about his indecisiveness that he gave up on me and took only Shigeru. BUT there was still a great final when I proved my zassou power. It was something like a sports competition. When I ran I looked like Matsujun for a moment but soon I turned back to my usual self. However, after seeing me run Doumyouji seemed to have fallen in love with me all over again, and suddenly he remembered those lines about "being meant for each other" and stuff. His mother seemed to be rooting for me. She probably thought it's better for his son to have a plain girl like me than a call girl. Gee, what a weird dream.

i dont remember....u may mean the song which starts with arigato....this is the only song i've downloaded of HYD2....it is called flavor of life.....

MAN! I just watched the 9th episode. It was so sad it made me cry.

Nevertheless I have to say Mao's acting wasn't all that good. It seems she doesn't really understand what a person feels who's saying good-bye for their love of a lifetime. Also the crying wasn't too convincing. I've seen better of her in the past. Altogether it was a good episode though. Very dark and depressing but good. What REALLY bugged me now was the preview. Geez, they are really mixing up everything again, just as they did in season I. Moreover, they should know that this wasn't the most popular part of the manga. See reactions on Meteor Garden II. Instead of rushing through each chapter and story arc they should consider a third season. It's really annoying.

I don't think there should be a season 3. Maybe a 2 hour special can end this drama but a season three would be pushing it, right? I mean Shun doesn't want a season three so if he isn't going to star as Rui they would have to recast Rui or take Rui out of season three all together. The show would lose a lot of ratings if that happens. Then I don't think there's enough story left to do a great season three without feeling it with meaningless mess. I just hope they do a special because its kind of sad seeing that the show only has two episodes left.

Did he say that? My, that's sad. Anyhow, I'd rather have a 3rd season than having them squeeze the amnesia part, the Amon arc and who knows what else into those 2 episodes that are still left. It would be a whole big mess.

Did he say that? My, that's sad. Anyhow, I'd rather have a 3rd season than having them squeeze the amnesia part, the Amon arc and who knows what else into those 2 episodes that are still left. It would be a whole big mess.

Yeah he said that. It didn't even want to do season two. And Jun only did season two because Shun was going to be Rui again. Abe (Akira) wants a season three though. I kinda see why. Hanadan is what got the pubic to know both Abe's and Shota's face. But for people like Jun and Shun, does doing season three benefit them. It would be a mess to mash everything together in two episodes though. Unless the last episode was like episode 1 and its 2 hrs long. That would be like have 3 episodes left. I still think they should do a two hour special. That could be like having 5 episodes left.

My point of view after seeing this, seriously, the company is already in the worse shape now, letting makino and dom be together is not really hurting anybody, it probably as dom say, with makino by his side, he would build new company, start with her, they could go together, it would give him strength to do anything as long as she is with him. Kaede is just being a witch wanting her son to suffered, look at how she smile when she see him looking so sad. really what kind of mother is this woman, she is really ruthless, getting her way. Thank god dom doesn't grow up to become like her because he met makino.

i didn`t say that domyoji is the only victim i said that he is the "supreme"victim in all this story,rui and makino are victims too! but tsukasa is a victim from many points of view,that`s all!

Do you think we'll get as good a group again. i think not, lets just cut this right now. And why can't season 3 be great. This one is pairing him with his Dragon Zakura costar, Masami Nagasawa, who's one of the hottest (and truly talented) young actresses right now. This is my most anticipated matchup of this year, as I really liked the chemistry between the two in that show (even though there wasn't a "romance" per se.) That would be nice, but come on lets get serious. The show can not last on looks alone. It's the acting that attracts me more than how the character look. The show would have to stick to the manga. I mean they can go off and do a side story of Akira her and a side story of Soujiro there like they did this season but thats not what the manga is about. It focuses on Makino and Domyouji. (I wanted to say Makino and Rui) A third season would really drown it out. In order to keep things flowing they would have to change it drastically. That might not be a good idea. I think ending it here is good. I won't be mad if a season 3 comes out but if Rui isn't in it, which he more than likely won't be, I would be reluctant to watch it. My opinion was to make the last episodes 2 hours long like the first. Then it would seem like there are 3 episodes left instead of 2. And that they should do a two hour special, that way it would seem like 5 episodes left all together. What I'm saying simply is, END IT.!!!!

No lol they could be hot as hell but then if they couldn't act ahh... i'd be more inclined to mute and pause than actually watch the show. I mean its only a bonus that they're hot. And like i was saying the season could be about the other character's such as Rui. And yeah the manga is great but they can't stick to it to do eveyone's story. I haven't finished the manga yet, i started it before season one but then got caught up in season one and recently went back to it. So if the manga does show everyone elses story then i don't know, but i think they could pull off another season. Those are some outstanding actors.
