I just posted this in the Yamashita Tomohisa thread but I will repost in here too...

A bit more clear on the whole Ryo leaving NEWS issue (this is coming straight from arashi.vox's blog - full credit goes to her!):

ryo will quit NewS as of 1/1/08
and startin 1/1/08 toma will replace NewS.
uchi will officially announce that he is quitting NewS...
will go back to kanjani in 04/08
