Am I the only one excited to see this drama?
I didnt think i'd be the one creating a thread for this drama!

http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Mop_Girl

I think it should be good.
Im interested to see Kitagawa Keiko's acting in this drama cause so far ive only seen her in Sailor Moon live action and the fast and the furious 3 (and that movie was bad enough...)
Anyway I thought is sounds like an interesting storyline what do other people think?

The synopsis reminds me of that one show "Tru Calling." I liked that show so, I assume I'll probably like this show. They seem really similar. Tru Calling was about a girl working in a morgue and a dead body would come in, and say "save me." She would then reset to the beginning of the day and would try to save them.

I really think that this is a Japanese take on Tru Calling. I mean really the plot is pretty much the same.

I'm just looking forward to Asami Reina in this series. It'll be her biggst role yet for her! :D Sousuke Takaoka is in it too, and I want to see how he's like (being Aoi Miyazaki's husband and all). AHAHA.

I was 'YES!!!!!!' :w00t: When I heard that Keiko was going to be in drama! I've only seen her in PGSM and all her other movies... though Mop Girl does resemble Tru Calling a bit I'm sure it will be loads better... :P .

I admit though, I sort of wished Keiko was in a romance/comedy drama... but that's just me :D .

Go Keiko!

Aside from the fact that Keiko's the female lead, the storyline itself seems pretty interesting. hmmms.....a girl who carries a mop and is able to travel back in time. :) IN-TER-EST-ING!

I'm looking forward to this. She happens to be my favorite idol ever since I saw Sailor Moon. Watched Tokyo Drift just for her but they cut so much scenes of her out.

I'm really curious with this drama since I found the storyline is quite similar with a western series called "Tru Calling". here's the wiki page :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tru_Calling
though both main chara has different occupation (but in similar 'office' ^^), but they posses the same power to help dead people. does anyone has the same opinion as I do? :D

This drama is definitely "inspired" (you can also call it "ripped-off" ;)) by Tru Calling.
Not necessarily a bad thing, though, I liked Tru Calling and would like to see a Japanese interpretation of it.

From watching the first episode, it is like Tru Calling. Shame about the series was cancelled on the 2nd season, but yeah this should be a good series.

I just realized this drama airs even later than LIFE and LG, well ..30 minutes later.
Curious to know what the ratings will be like.

Tru Calling was a good show - you can tell by how it got canceled so early and in 2005. Like Firefly, too, for example. I still don't understand the canceling fever back then...

Keiko Kitagawa's drama :w00t: I'm so happy to finally see her in a drama again (since Sailormoon) ^.^

Has anyone noticed that this show kind of resembles Ghost Whisperer (Western series starrign jennifer Love Hewitt)? I loved that show ^^ I hope that this one turns to be great ^^ of course it has to cuz Keiko-chan is there XD

Does anyone have an idea why it's aired late?? & I can understand why LIFE was aired late but why Sushi Oji

With few exceptions, it's the timeslot that chooses dramas rather than the other way around. So, this was selected for this timeslot

This is probably the 2nd best j-drama for me in the fall.

Keiko Kitagawa's acting are quite impressive in this show haha, especially when she yells the nuuuuuuuuu everytime and get dragged out by securities lol...

2nd was even better than 1st one in term of the suprise they gave us haha, a gay couple :D :P ... and she yelled ero and the end instead of egoist lol.....
This is the opening on youtube.

Destination Nowhere
For me it's a pretty close race between Joshi Deka!, Mop Girl, and Utahime so far. LOL Mop Girl got even better during it's second episode, imo. Keiko's been adorable, and Tanihara Shosuke is truly hilarious! I love watching him go from yelling at Momoko to flirting with French women. I particularly like the chemistry between the leads so far. This case was really fun, and the mix of drama and humor is perfect.

Destination Nowhere is my favorite theme this season, and the opening itself is really good.

Ep 3 rocked XD, we finally get to see the Yukata roll that's usually in anime haha..
We've seen some great contradictions between the two main cha so far haha. Ohtomo always calls the officer by chieft and Momoko always calls him chief in stand-by lol.... & Momoko's energetic in oppose to the sloppy Ohtomo. I see some great potential for development in both characters.

& Ohtomo has sooo many european girlfriends lmao, on the preview for ep 4 i think we get to see another one XD...

Thank you for all of ur replies....I haven't watched it although I've downloaded it till 3rd episode.

I download this series because I read the review, and the main actress is Keiko Kitagawa...she is so cute...last time I watched her series is Sailor Moon.

Have only watched the first ep so far, but I really liked it. Keiko and the male lead (hot! looks better than when he's on Yama Onna Kabe Onna...maybe cuz he's playing a more funny guy here) are really funny.

I've been watching the RAWs, so I'm really only understanding about half of the story so far (and by understanding, I mean as much as a person who can't speak japanese can understand). I normally just wait for the subs to come out, but I'm really loving this series so far. It's like an addiction lol

Could someone answer a question for me about episode 6?
At the end of the episode, what does Momoko say to Ohto to make him headbutt her?

I have deleted the episode so I don't remember the exact quotes but:
Momoko was wondering why he helped her all the time and asked if maybe he liked her.

Woot got delayed into watching episode 6 haha... Not as good as ep 5, but still good. After the darkness of the reaper event, they manage to lift off the sadness with Keiko's one sentence lol..... "Who's this Lolan San" lol.......
And as for the last sentence, yeah she said... "how come you come to help me everytime in the end? Ohhhh could it be that you like me?" From the preview episode, its hilarious haha, Keiko in the schoolgirl uniform XD and odou-san's expression on the phone, maybe Keiko's telling him i got some super foreign girl this time :w00t:

I'm only on eps 2 and I love this series. The girl..Keiko?, well she's cute and makes the character funny and interesting. The guy, he's ok but he's growing on me. I never saw True Calling or Ghost Whisperer whatever Jennifer Love-Hewitt did but I do like this show. 2nd eps was surprising, didn't think they'd come up with that storyline. I started eps 3 RAW but I don't understand much so I stopped halfway.

Question about episode 6....

Post by nyxed » Aug 23rd, '08, 19:43

Okay, I don't really get what happened in the end of episode 6...
So, that gravure model girl (I forget her name already... A...something XD) was supposed to be killed, right? But Momoko went back in time and stopped her from getting killed, but...wasn't she supposed to be the killer? In that case, before Momoko went back in time, who had killed her??? Was it that the girl she was trying to kill ended up killing her and they just thought it was that serial killer or whatever? In that case, wouldn't the surviving girl have gone to the police...? Did any of this get explained? XD I'm not sure this even makes sense... X___X

@nyxed
Her manager(Yuuki) had found out she was 'acting' as the Masked Man and he was worried she was going to get caught. When she refused to stop when he asked her too, he set it up so she would actually be the 'victim' and therefore, never blamed as being the Masked Man. When Momoko went back in time, and came upon Asuka after she was slashed(but not killed), Yuuki was there and Momoko asked him why he was dressed as the Masked Man. He always said he would do anything for her, and that was his way of taking care of her... weirdly enough. Soooo Asuka was the real Masked Man, but that time Yuuki was posing as one too, so that he could foil her latest attempt and exonerate her from ever being accused of the crimes. Which bizarrely enough, was exactly what she wanted, hence the photographer she always called to 'witness' her attacks. She actually wanted people to see her 'greatest acting' ever!

I thought it was one of the stranger episodes.

edit:
I forgot to add... the girl who Asuka 'attacked' at the end, who then turned around and slashed her with Asuka's own sickle, was actually the person who had been going around 'molesting' people (both men and women) in that parking garage. That last bit at the end with the crazed looking woman flashing her coat open was her. The inspector explained that to Otomo and the funeral home gang at the end... he said when the police were questioning everyone about what happened with the Masked Man, they found out she was naked under that trench coat. SO they caught the Masked Man, as well as the 'serial molester'. :P

OH. I see. Not that it makes much sense even when you know what happened... XD Definitely one of the sillier episodes.
Also I sense a theme of people trying to kill people to "protect" them...especially protect them from themselves. I know I would want my friends to kill me...wait...
I wish my Japanese was good enough to understand this show. X___X They just don't teach you enough murder-related vocab at school... ;D

Yeah, I was kinda WTF about the manager's reasoning. I don't get the "kill 'em to protect 'em" mentality either.
My Japanese is just elementary! The only reason I know what's going on is because I edited/QC'd the subs for this episode just a couple of days ago. :P lol

Hello!..I hope I'm not yet late for this discussion regarding MG :-) (I've just watched it recently)..actually at first I was skeptical whether I should watch it or not but when I saw a trailer of it and saw Kei-chan ( I didn't know yet what her name was at that time) I said to my self I should definitely watch it! the female lead is gorgeous ...so, thank google for the links and thank timeless sub for subbing it :-) ..I'll patiently wait for episodes 6-10 to be released , I'll watch waterboys for now (heard it was good)...abayou mina-san!
