Afterall, don't think Fukuda Mayuko looks that innocent... she always play the role as cynical child, with cold attitude... I can't see her as Hagumi.

In terms of looks and acting, the best Hagumi so far is Aoi Yuu. She has the looks of a 12 year old in Hagumi's clothes, even though she was 21 in HachiKuro movie.

Second best looks... I really can't imagine anyone else other than Narumi Riko

Is it just only me here, who thinks Narumi's looks is perfect as Hagu? Sometimes she does look mature, but she also has that youth look too. She has the pure and innocent looks that Hagumi has. Esp. with Hagumi's clothes and Hagumi's hair, I think she's all set to play the role^^ Hee... maybe it's just me, ne...

It'll be scary and unrealistic if Hagu is played by a child who is actually 10 xD

Narumi Riko as Hagu is starting to settle into my head, and I think I'm getting used to it in a good way. I would probably prefer it if she was older LOOKING younger, but you can't have everything! I just have this feeling she'll do just fine in her role

Yanie, I hope it won't just be about romance either. That's one thing I really appreciated about the anime (my only reference since I haven't read the manga), so I hope it's how the drama goes about things.

i didn't think of kissing scene at all.

i like both narumi and mamayu when i think of hagu i'll think of mamayu.but when mamayu smile and laugh she kinda looks like hagu.

lol,korobokkuro.i still remember it's from the anime.

i hope so.the drama should have other elements other than romance.hachikuro is not just about romance.

Don't worry, the anime is about 90% faithful to the manga, the anime is EVEN BETTER, IMO ^^ It cut down some unnecessary scenes in the manga, and (I'm really sorry to Umino Chika-san) the anime art and drawing is 10x better than the manga xD Not to mention, there are soundtracks in the anime.

The HachiKuro staff diary blog updated some interesting entries, they posted about how difficult it was to create all the fake sakura trees in winter, for Takemoto and Hagu's first meet scene, and how they had to sweep clean all the sakura petals on the ground for so many hours after the filming^^

The latest entry is about how the 3 young actors gets along very well on the set, and the actress who play Ayu, Harada Natsuki, complains of how those 3 guys (Ikuta, Narimiya and Mukai Osamu) started to frequently imitate(monomane) her acting^^ Harada Natsuki said, on a scene, the director asked her to get angry in a more kawaii(cute) attitude... when they check the result on the monitor... Narimiya, Ikuta and Mukai were laughing at her, imitated her, and said things like, "you're much cuter when you're being yourself,". (which means they meant she's not good in acting???^^;;)
That, and it seems the 3-guys act of teasing Harada Natsuki, started by Ikuta-kun, heehee... yappari...

Looks like the HachiKuro Five gets along good! I'm happy to hear this. In the press conference, Mukai Osamu also told the press, that they do the "juice janken" frequently. Whoever looses the janken must treat all of them juice. They all feel guilty, when Narumi Riko looses, coz it feels like forcing the youngest to pay the juice for them xD

When I heard that Toma was cast as the lead, I immediately thought about Morita. If they don't find the right Morita, Toma would just take all the glory (he may still do). I think Hiroki is a very good choice. It will be on my watch list next season.

Relating to this topic, I read from the newspaper Joe Cheng will star as the lead in Honey and Clover Taiwan version. They will start filming after chinese new year. This trend of duplicate dramas from different countries is getting really weird!!!

Tanabe was Nanba-senpai's ex-girlfriend, she appeared in the beach episode of Hana Kimi.

off topic, i still cant see Narumi as Hagu, for Aoi Yu was perfect in the movie. Aoi captured that youthful innocence of Hagu. however, while watching the anime, i cant help but think of ex momosu Kago Ai as Hagu(she's as tiny as Hagu), or Yaguchi Mari(also small, blond hair, big eyes)..

I agree with this a 100%, physically she is the perfect Hagu. There's a fine line between picking the right person and making it realistic, too young will be disturbing and to old would just be unrealistic(which is why I didn't really like Aoi Yuu to much, she physically didn't "fit" the character for me, I thought her performance was quite good though).

I remember that character from the drama and her looking a bit older, not as old as how Yamada looks. But I guess that was just her role in HK, to look a bit older than Nanba.

The official website has been updated with relationship chart and characters introduction. I've translated 10 most important and interesting characters. Reading these characters introductions, you can rest assure that the drama follows the original story's characters backgrounds 90% faithfully. I'm very happy to read them! And not to mention, they make some things that was left blur in the original, even clearer here! To those who read the manga or watched the anime, might know what I meant after reading these introductions below^^

This should be a made-up character, that never appears in the manga/anime. Most probably he's a replacement for the Fujiwara twin gay brothers

Anyway, some descriptions says about what Mayama and Yamada will do after graduation. So, I'm pretty sure, just like the manga and anime, the story will cover a span of several years and NOT just a span of 3 months like other dramas. Well, just like what we see in the commercials, having the first scene in spring with all the fake sakura trees, is actually one of the proof that the story will not only cover a span of 1 winter season.

So, by the look of it, Kassy(Nomiya character) might not appear until the 2nd or 3rd episode xD

I just realized that Takemoto Yuta is a role not as easy to act as it seems. All the credits for this drama, always starts with Narumi as Hagu, and then Toma as Takemoto is 2nd in line. However, I really think the true main role is suppose to be Takemoto Yuta, rather than Hagumi. He's the lead of the story, as the manga and anime starts and ends with Takemoto's narration.
Takemoto character will mature along the story as years goes by. He's a very emotional person, but he tends not to be honest with himself. Although he don't like someone, he'd still smile and act very nice to him. And most importantly, is this character's hesitation in choosing his path of life, what he really wants to do in life. His love problems is only a side problem in the story and not the main problem.
His mixed feelings to Morita is also interesting, he sees Morita as his rival in love, yet Morita is also his very best, true friend. One time, he doesn't like Morita to be near them, but one time, he becomes very happy to know he has a friend like Morita.

I'd say this role is quite a challenge for Toma^^ Ganbatteee, Toma-kun!! I know you can do it!^0^ (although I love Sakurai Sho too, but I have a feeling Toma will surpass Sho, in acting Takemoto xD Gomen ne, Sho-kun... lol!)

i'm glad japan made it before taiwan as well.japan tend to be slower than others.so joe cheng'll be takemoto?i can"t imagine him as takemoto.

xD I wonder how I did for English myself. For the final, I left one whole thing blank because I forgot all the definitions. Yikes.

Although, I've aced myself through Japanese with a 99. Wheee. I hope I get honor roll. Anyways, HachiKuro's so close, I can taste it. I even see it everywhere, literally. What?! I know I'm late in hearing this news haha. Wow, really? Who the heck is Joe Cheng going to play? Because if he's going to play Takemoto... Seriously, I like Joe Cheng, but that would be a wrong match in my opinion. I can't fit him to any character...

I saw 2 new commercials of HachiKuro yesterday! One got all 5 of them sitting, facing the camera, while Narumi and Toma recite the on-air time and title. But Narimiya on the background is acting so cute and hyper!! Maybe he's on Morita-mode

The other one is scenes from the drama... most of 'em are same with before, but I think there were 2-3 new cuts^^ I remember, it ended with a shot of Hagu(Narumi Riko) about to bite a pizza, but then she paused as she sees something, and it looks like she was really in awe... (maybe its Morita

) Narumi looked so cute in this scene, very "Hagu" with that empty gaze, you know, one of those Hagu's stare when she only stare at the empty space^^

If anyone has them, pls share!!^^

Wow, 3 more days! Time flies! But in 2 more days, the whole team will appear live on Nakai's Super Drama Festival(the bowling game) and the staffs wrote on the blog, they asked our support for the team to win the game^^ I cannot wait for that too! Report on the Nakai's bowling game! I'm sorry, that this is not focused only on the HachiKuro team, but on Nakai and Katori Shingo too. All of their moments are kinda related, so its difficult to separate them xD

Hachimitsu to Clover has PR program today at 2.07 PM to 2.35 PM, might be some behind the scenes and interviews, yay!!

oh btw, when I saw Mukai Osamu last night in the bowling game, I was in awe and I thought, "Omg!! Its Mayama! Come out of the manga!!". Mukai is really tall, the tallest compared to Toma and Narimiya, and he has this kind of charm that Mayama has. I really can't ask for a better Mayama! Really looking forward to his portrayal as Mayama, in terms of looks, he's much better than the movie's actor!^^

Mukai is very handsome, ive first noticed him in Bambino. physically he really looks like Mayama, hope he can act the part too..i dont really expect a lot from his acting since he's just a relatively new actor.
